like a month ago i saw a video something like this and told me to put the tip of my tounge behind my two top teeth and it hasnt really been hard for me to adapt to it its kinda natural for me now
This is natural to me, but I assume its natural for everyone. You don't need to do any exercise to keep your tongue in place, all you need is to apply suction by swallowing saliva and your tongue will remain in place on the upper palate. You then can maintain your tongue in that position until you star talking, then swallow saliva again and suction your tongue to reposition it once again on the upper palate. Think of it this way, you are removing the air that is between your tongue and the upper palate and the tongue will stick to the upper palate. IT IS BASIC PHYSICS! THE PHYSICS OF PRESSURE DIFFERENTIAL. Have you seen the suction cups that we use to hang clothes on the walls or in bathrooms? You press them on the wall, remove the air between and the suction cup remains in place. This is the same phenomenon that happens in the human mouth when you eat saliva while your tongue is in the upper palate. You remove the air between your tongue and the upper palate and the tongue sticks to the upper palate! This is the natural position your tongue should be, because we humans constantly eat our own saliva. Two questions: 1) Is it normal to feel tightness in the temporal region on skull when first starting out? Even get headaches? 2) when doing/holding this posture, the tongue doesn't even seem to move when swallowing saliva...is that good or mean that it is correct?

Hi, I have a question and I desperately need an answer. So I thought it's the best to ask you. I am a 16 year old girl, and I've been mouth breathing probably my whole life. As a result of this habit, I have bad posture, narrow palate, blocked nose and wheezing sounds (i don't know if it's related) and most importantly, I have a long and narrow face which i'm really insecure about. And also my mandible is slanting downwards. I hate how I look so much and I really want to fix it. So if I start mewing from now, after 2 or more years will I see results in my face shape ( I mean will it get wider and less long looking) and will I see results in my smile after expanding my narrow palate? Hey you probably won't read this but I have gorlin sign which basically means I have a a tongue that can touch my nose, and if I do full suction I can't breath. So how do I do this?
Hello, what if my tongue is not balanced? I feel that only one side of my tongue is pushing more than the other. And also i understand that we are not allowed to touch the front teeth, but what about the sides? My palate seems to be narrow so the sides of my tongue seems to keep touching all the teeth at the sides.
Do you think mewing can affects neck and jaw muscles if you have malocclusion class 2 and bad posture? Lately my neck it is just hurt every time I pass saliva and Im scared because mewing became an involuntary thing for me and I dont know how to regret it. I really hope you can help me, Im very worried for my neck and my dentist doesnt know anaything about this topic.
Wow I'm surprised this is a thing - all my life my tongue has been resting in (as I now know from watching these videos) the 'proper position'. I honestly didn't think the tongue could rest downwards. I didn't know the nose and jaw deformities can be caused from improper tongue posture. I truly believed every person ever born and lived had the correct posture. It's crazy to know posture isn't just your back, your neck and arms! Although I don't have to worry about mewing because my tongue is correctly postured from the get-go, it is really cool and interesting to know that incorrect tongue posture is a thing. However, I am left with one question: Can you have perfect tongue posture, but have an arched nose with no nasal problems? Because now I'm questioning if anyone with an arched nose has/had nasal issues. Is it possible to have an arched nose that is normal? That is just how your nose looks from genetics or whatnot?

I think my frenulum under my tongue was never snipped/trimmed fully as a baby. I'm having a hard time getting my whole tongue on the roof of my mouth...
For a 27 year old with impacted wisdom teeth what is recommended? Mewing doesn't seem to open up that much of space for two wisdom teeth. Should it be removed?
Thanks for this brother! I have only one question, I think you can clear this up easily. so some people on mewing reddit or something like that complained about teeth becoming crooked or tooth gap and blamed on mewing, do they mew in wrong way? Like they are pushing front teeth with tongue. or some other thing is going on?
That's a good question I am not entirely sure about! If the palate expands and there is a gap between the teeth, then that would mean it expanded quite a significant amount. Just ensure for yourself that you have the proper tongue posture explained in this video, and work on improving body posture as well!
Does this not change the position of your front teeth? I used to have a “tic” where I’d push my tongue against my bottom teeth and it started to make one of them crooked after having extremely straight teeth. I know you’re not supposed to push the top teeth but it seems like resting it there could affect your front teeth especially.. Edit: I see you’re not supposed to touch your front teeth at all.
What do you think about headgear such as Mew Vector headbrace from Dr. Mew? Maybe in combination with a palatal expander. I think this would be the best solution for most people just because you could exert more pressure on the palat.
I’m trying to understand the the tongue suction part. Is it like swallowing but just before “swallowing” you stop right when your tongue reaches the roof of your mouth? Also, do you have any tips for an asymmetrical hard palette. The left side of my jaw and face is more define and I have more room on the left of my palette. However, right side of my palette is like pushed more towards the left side of my face and not as much room. I’ve been trying to push my palette forward with my tongue to create room but it’s not really helping
Question: having the tongue posture, does the teeth have to touch too? Because I can leave my tongue touching my paladar but its easear if my teeth dont touch specially my grinders
Every time I swallow I make a noise as if I’m swallowing really hard. I don’t know why it started it happening but this start last year. I’ve tried a lot of exercises and nothing has helped.
Thanks, now I'm super paranoid about my tongue posture

I had a palatal expander at 16, and started doing mewing and stuff around 18. I saw improvements around 18/19 and still am now with some of the new stuff i've been learning (myofunctional therapy etc)
@@BestFaceForward JFL if you actually think you can reverse your maxilla from 1-18 and now doing mewing as well to fix this. You need cosmetic surgery in that instance.
Thanks for the video! Is your tongue supposed to ache at first? Only been practicing for about an hour hahah!
Alice Louise it will ache lol
It could, and that could mean the muscle is just not used to being used properly!
How does this tongue suction work, I think I'm over thinking it
My maxilla is shift to left which make my upper front teeth and lower front teeth cannot align. I have mewing for 1 year.I did seet the changes but mostly the changes are on my left side.My left side look bigger and stronger while my right side is weak.I recently have nasal surgery doctor told me that my right nose airway is to small.I dont know how this happen... i am right handed person but how can my left side is stronger than my right side
I think my frenulum under my tongue was never snipped/trimmed fully as a baby. I'm having a hard time getting my whole tongue on the roof of my mouth...
Called tongue tie- very common and I have a video on this. I am working to make more content on this in future
@@BestFaceForward thanks!
I feeling in my head something 🤔 while mewing.... what's that...?
would it be better too mew before you get braces or not
For a 27 year old with impacted wisdom teeth what is recommended? Mewing doesn't seem to open up that much of space for two wisdom teeth. Should it be removed?
Yes bro
Tbh I forgot how my tongue is supposed to be and now I'm searching how to make it go back to normal. It feels weird
Whats when your top teeth rows are too narrow to fully rest your tongue?
Should your lower and upper teeth be touching (closed) in the resting position?
I can’t swallow while having my tounge in this position
then youre doing it correctly!
You are doing it right! To swallow (food or drink) use your tongue
My saliva keeps filling up on the lower part of my mouth and with my tongue up there I can't do nothing about it. Is that just me?
@@adi_tya Nah same issue, the lower part gets drenched and the upper part keeps drying out.
What do you think about headgear such as Mew Vector headbrace from Dr. Mew? Maybe in combination with a palatal expander. I think this would be the best solution for most people just because you could exert more pressure on the palat.
I am not familiar with this headgear, I will look into it!
Palate***
Do you recommend surgery for facial asymmetry correction??
we personally don't talk about surgery much, not something I know much about
Will mewing help me stop biting the sides of my tongue???
When i do the ngggg tongue thing, i cant breathe at all
same; I’m still trying though, hoping it becomes natural
Question: having the tongue posture, does the teeth have to touch too? Because I can leave my tongue touching my paladar but its easear if my teeth dont touch specially my grinders
I’m pretty sure you’re teeth have to touch and stay closed
@@aliceinwonderlust thank you!!!!
Every time I swallow I make a noise as if I’m swallowing really hard. I don’t know why it started it happening but this start last year. I’ve tried a lot of exercises and nothing has helped.
