    Great way to study. I agree with letting the scriptures speak for themselves. Good way to cross reference and gain deeper understanding. I'm no pastor, but every man is in essence the spiritual leader of his house, under the guidance of The Lord's spirit

      if peace is in Christ, how do you get into Christ?
      Galatians 3
      26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. Galatians 3:26-29
      Some would claim that we are clothed with Christ and become His children when we merely believe that He is God’s Son. This verse shows that such is not the case. The words “put on” are a translation of the Greek verb enduo, which signifies “to enter into, get into, as into clothes, to put on.” Can we be saved prior to “putting Christ on” or “being clothed” with Christ? No. So when and how does one put on Christ-according to Paul? When one is baptized in water. Those who teach we can be saved before baptism are, in reality, teaching we can be saved while spiritually naked and without Christ! Paul affirms that we “put on” Christ at the point of our baptism-not before.
      Paul wrote these words to people who were already saved. They had been made “sons of God by faith” (vs. 26). But how? At what point had they “been clothed with Christ”? When were they made “sons of God by faith”? When were they saved? Paul makes the answer to these questions very plain: they were united with Christ, had put on Christ, and were clothed with Christ-when they were baptized. Ask yourself if you have been clothed with Christ. Galatians 3:27
      ἐνδύω
      enduō
      Thayer Definition:
      1) to sink into (clothing), put on, clothe one’s self
      Part of Speech: verb
      A Related Word by Thayer’s/Strong’s Number: from G1722 and G1416 (in the sense of sinking into a garment)

      Question: If every person could be their own spiritual leader, led by the Holy Spirit alone, then why did the Holy Spirit Himself give certain men the gift of pastor-teacher (Eph. 4:11, interpreted with the Granville-Sharpe grammar rule), and why does God mandate that we submit to the teaching authority of a pastor-teacher/presbuturos ('elder')? (Jer. 3:15; Heb. 13:17; James 3:1; 1 Pet. 5:5) Of course you are responsible and accountable to God for your spiritual growth, but that begins with praying for guidance that He leads you to a qualified communicator of the Word of God, and then asking for wisdom and discernment and humility to chose the right man for the job and to put yourself under that man's teaching authority (i.e. is he qualified - does he have what it takes to shepherd you to spiritual maturity and completion (telos/plereo) of the spiritual life?). A lot of Christians jump around churches and pastors because either they can't find a good pastor, but often because they want someone to fit their preconceived ideas of how a pastor should teach, or just want their 'ears tickled' rather than hearing truth which they have rejected.

    Hi Kale, watched all your video's on the e-sword tutorial. I just started using it. Can you do a video on the part 2 from this video on how you write your sermons? say in e-sword since thats what I will be using. Or please give me some other tips to take to the next level in e-sword. great video's. Thanks God Bless. Bill

      Hi Bill, hope they were helpful to you! My videos are really just a starting point to show you how to use E-sword as a study tool. But personally, I don't want to make any videos that would undermine a good Homiletics (how to study the Bible) or Hermeneutics (how to preach the Bible) class offered by a local church or Bible school. If that is your next step, I would strongly encourage you to ask your local church pastor if he can point you in the direction he suggests. If you don't have anything offered locally, I would highly suggest Living Faith Bible Institute classes, available individually and online (www.lfbi.org). I graduated from there. It's a fellowship of networked Baptist churches who's pastors are the professors. God bless!

    Hi
    Thank you for the Tutorials.
    Q. Why did you use the Topic in notes when doing your study to form your sermon, instead of the scripture tab?
    Q2. Nowhere did you mention, and what are the yellow numbered tabs going down the center, separating the different sections?
    Once again, thank you for the help.

    • @kalehorvathmedia
      @kalehorvathmedia  Год назад +3

      Use whichever tab in the note editor that you like. You can watch my tutorial on note taking for more details.
      The yellow numbers are bookmarks. Turn this feature on or off in the options tab. To save a verse to a bookmark, first select the verse, then simple right-click on one of the yellow book marks. That's it! Now when you left click on that bookmark, it will immediately take you to that verse.

    Very helpful tutorial, thank you. What do you do when you remember a scripture verse but not exactly and the searches seem to come up empty? I've gone to Google for this before successfully, but would rather stay in E Sword.

    • @kalehorvathmedia
      @kalehorvathmedia  Год назад

      Ah yes, sometimes I've had to Google as well because I misremembered the wording. But before doing that, I usually just search fewer words. Try only searching 2 or 3 key words that you are almost positive are correct, rather than searching a phrase. That usually works for me.
