IMPORTANT: The other plant I keep calling Hoya lyi with a Y is Hoya lockii. My brain made a big fart there 😂 Hoya lyi has small, pubescent leaves, similar to Hoya thomsonii. There was a hoya under the name Hoya lii, but that one is one Hoya multiflora. Sorry!
💚 Yes please on the profile video of Carl Ludwig Blume! I love your videos because I always learn something new. Thank you also for your random rantings and digressions. They truly make laugh 😂
You're basically telling my story with Hoya earlier this year 🤣 starting with krimson princess, then callistophylla, then suddenly I found myself getting 15 new hoyas in a month🤦🏻
I love MY Hoya Multiflora. Was my first Hoya, got it as a cutting and i had no idea how to root it so I put it in water and rooted now i have my main plant and another one i use to cut and give away cuttings to family ,neighbors and friends. Big bonus it doesnt stop blooming all year long !
For me it all started with a Hoya australis Lisa earlier this year who has grown to be a giant and now I’m 13 Hoya deep with no intentions of stopping 🪴 Hoya Multiflora blooms are to die for 🤩
The intro.. shallow diving😂 even if the title doesn’t seem like something I particularly need to know, I can’t help but click. You always boost my mood. Never stop being you 💚
They remind me of dragons. :) I have the outer variegated and the green multiflora. The green one is very small and wants to bloom instead of make leaves. ::sigh::
Have my multiflora in a self watering pot and in my East facing window that I use a sheer during mid summer. If I wasn't in the PNW, the sheer would no doubt be up sooner. *LOL* The self watering pot is perfect for this plant...I just check its' reservoir each week when I water the rest of my plants. 🙂
Thank you for making these videos, you never fail to make me laugh!! Hoyas are my favorite. Never felt the need for multiflora but I think you convinced me that I want them. Thank you?
I got Hoya lockii because the blooms last long. I’ll try to get this one next year when the wether allows it. I hope the blooms last long too. Thank you for the video.
I'm so happy that I got to witness your floof of a hair do. I makes totally sense.. The two H's Hoya and Hair 😂 Beautiful (relax not you the flowers😂) multiflora 🌸.
Hi Miro! This was really interesting and I love listening to you! I may have to look for a multiflora now, since you say they are easy to grow and flower. Thank you so much for sharing!
So, I watched this video a year ago. And I just got the 406 last week! Thought it was a good idea to watch again. 😊 Going to turn the light down right now!! 😮
I'm going on a hunt for Hoya multiflora in the spring. I have to wait until the weather warms up because I'll likely have to shop online. My local nurseries don't often carry Hoya (even the carnosa varieties!), and I definitely haven't seen any of them carry multiflora.
Hi there, very informative and interesting video, thanks for sharing. I like7 your video a lot. My multiform has white and yellow and it grows fast and flower easily. I agree ut is easier than carnosa for beginners. Your orange colone looks very nice. Mine rooted in water very easily. Thanks for sharing and happy growing.
@@BasiePlants i have both! Although the inner variegated one does not have very strong variegation…I ordered it online and it is different than the picture 🤷♀️
3:06 the first leaf on the leaf. It has a little jog to the right on the tip. I’ve seen some leaves with this feature every once in awhile on other Hoyas. Interesting. Well I thought it was. I get it.
Thank you for this informative video. I bought a Hoya multiflora "Philippines" in July and it is growing like a weed but drops always its buds. Maybe I should water it more often.
Miro! Love your videos and humor. Im wondering if you have any idea why my multiflora's peduncles will bloom then drop their whole peduncle? Im trying to keep it evenly moist and not dry out, but could it be overwatering or a feeding issue or need repotting? What medium gave you had the most success with on these? Thank you again for learning about my plants so enjoyable!
I just got a multiflora after i passed it up last year cuz i thought it would be more available at my local plant shop lol. The leaves remind me of citrus tree leaves
I live a mile up in a desert. If I underwater more than a week and a day the leaves of my Hoya wrinkle down loosing any pliability and the next time they dry up and are no longer on the plant. That is while staying in a room with bowls of water around and a humidifier. I start to feel guilty about the one week after I last watered them.
Thank you for your videos I love them. As you are an experienced hoya grower can you tell me why my hoya leaves on my MF are developing striped yellowing leaves but the leaves are not dropping off and hey are sturdy. I have Any ideas? Thankyou.
It could be several things. I am not sure I quite understand what the leaves look like, but they can turn yellow from underwatering, pest attack (mites) or nutrient defficiency. Though when you say striped, I think of nutrient deficiency.
@@BasiePlants thanks for your thoughts. The leaves look strange I've never seen anything like it before. If you can imagine a yellow leaf with a green spine and green veins. Then one half of the plant is perfect and in flower lol
I just got my first Hoya November 27th. It’s a Lacunosa. Tiny. Not looking good at all. Dropped quite a few leaves. I had it in a 3” terracotta pot. Then I saw a video that they do better in plastic so I repotted it again into a 3” plastic pot. Using Black Gold potting mix that I added a lot of perlite to. I’m afraid I’m killing it somehow because it is so droopy. I’m trying to let it dry out completely but the pot is so small it’s hard to tell. Would I be better off to take it out and put it in perlite to develop the roots more? PLEASE HELP.
They can do well in terracotta pot with the right amount of mix and right amount of watering. Lacunosa is a hoya that wants a bit more water - it should do well in a mix of 50% coco peat and 50% perlite and in that case, in a normal room temperature and humidity, in bright light, you should water it every 5-6 days. You may want to take it out of the pot to see if there is any root rot. If there is, I would recommend re-rooting the plant/cuttings in perlite, water or whatever method you choose :)
Hi please help! I have just received my rooted cutting of h.Multiflora. It was in transit from Indonesia to UK for 10 days. The leaves look very dry and sad. How would you treat this plant so it has the best start. Thank you.
If the roots are healthy, I would water it lightly and oput it in a propagation box for several weeks so it can rehydrate. And monitor for signs of rot, in case you need to re-root it :)
I purchased one after watching your video, however it has dropped all of its Leaves in two weeks😢 I have the stem in pon but looks to be drying out, any advice?
I rooted mine in coco peat and perlite in a prop box. They are quite dramatic when they root. Even with tha rooting process, it took long and it got yellow. Check the stem and make sure it is not rooting. If you save the stem, it will grow. Lockii and multiflora will only put out roots at the place where they have been cut.
“It is not a big plant but it is certainly over exposed” did you mean because of light or because you were exposing its sexual organs aka flowers 😂😂 you made me actually lol! Also the perlite 😂😂
I just got my first multiflora 3 days ago. Its already rooted and established, but already have 2 yellow leaves that came overnight. So scared to kill it! Unlike you I am an overwaterer!
Thank you! I added the correction in the description and pinned comment. I can't believe my brain did not realize that until now 😂 I guess it is definitely time for all of them to get labels, so I don't have to remember the name from the top of my head. At least I got the L right. 😅

😂 It was not intended to be a thumbnail, but here we are.
The hoya Fabio! 🤭

Nodding Miro! 🤣 I wonder if I can get one for me.
OK, I don't particularly love the leaves, but the flowers are stunning on the multiflora.
I can vouch for the might of the mitrata scent :D
It is nice, but a bit too much of nice...
I love your videos. You are very entertaining. I have multiple Hoyas but I have only had three of them bloom so far. They are my favorite plant.
Yes to all video subjects about Hoyas. That bloom! Beautiful!
Milo, just wanted to let you know that now there is a h. Multiflora splash! Looks very pretty. Haven't seen pics of the flowers yet though. ❤

I am always surprised that I don't see them in garden centers! IMO it should be as equally represented as a carnosa!

What perfect timing! I just got a couple variegated Hoya multi flora and I was wondering how easy it would be to propagate!
Oh cool! Did you get the one with inner or outervariegation? It is not hard to propagate, just a bit nerve-wrecking. 😅

Currently in the "all hell breaks loose" phase. 🤣
That phase lasts a while! 😂 Will let you know when I am out of it.
Me too!
Yes, you forgot the Philippines, but its OK. I have photos of them from the wild, growing on Mount Makiling (type locality of the Jadevine)
I have a multiflora with different leaves, I have seen it being sold as “Milky Way”. Actually, it is Hoya multiflora Java IML 0153. A great one.
Do you own it
I think I would pronounce kastbergii as you do, though I’m Swedish 🧐😂 Cuttings from Camilla are 🥰🥰🥰
I think that means I am more Swedish than I thought? I could be reading too much between the lines there 😂 Camilla's cuttings are always great 💚
Hoya Kastberg , you must end Kastberg like the G in go 👍🏼😊
Not me watching this three times because I can’t focus due to my thoughts after this thumbnail 😈
