I think he is a pretty decent character in the game (pretty chill for most part), also if you have finished his quest he can give you a decent starting coin or an item. For the dialogue skip you just did it by clicking on the screen, just like skipping on certain bosses dialogues.

You will be able to play on "Hard Mode" which is like, the true game mode that unlocks a new area, new characters and new stuff to do!
