KHA'NOS - Contagion Scourge (Pre-Production 2010)

KHA'NOS was a death metal band from Santa Cruz, CA that was active from ~2008-2010. Featuring Riley McShane (currently of Allegaeon) on vocals, Phil Rudock and Shane Terry on guitars, and Fynn Jones on drums. I joined on bass in Summer 2009 and played with the band until it dissolved about a year later. Shane and Fynn would go on to form the black/doom metal band Gloam.
A four-song demo was recorded before I joined, and the band was playing local shows. While I was in the band, we played about a half dozen shows, recorded a song for the "Santa Cruz Underground Metal" 2009 compilation CD, wrote new material, and started pre-production for a release, which was never completed. "Contagion Scourge" was the first song we started recording, and we were able to bounce this early version featuring programmed drums before the band broke up. In 2021 I revisited the pre-production files and began work to finish the recording of the release.
