- Sifting through my stored figures, I noticed both McFarlane Toys and Marvel Legends have tried to bring their versions of a Mega/Deluxe figure to the market. Let's compare what each company brings to the table for two drastically different prices.

When toy biz Marvel Legends started the build a figure concept, the build a figure WAS a mega figure.
Then the Puck figure was made and it ruined it!
"The yellow and green for Green Lantern" That's funny for TWO reasons.
Go on?
@@key6637 yellow and green for aqua man and yellow is a weakness to green lanterns
Cyborg Spider Woman actually had a deleted scene where she actually had dialogue and stuff, and you know what? It was actually funny.
Actually for Marvel Legends there are six build a figure pieces costing over $150 with each figure costing $24.99. McFarlane is the one where only four figures are needed to build a figure usually costing just over $100.
Marvel legends has 6 figures for their build a figure wave. Right arm, right leg, left arm, left leg, body, and head. Mcfarlane was 4 figures.
I say Mcf execute the Megafig better than ML ever does, since i did own 5 different of DC megafig, its worth the price for it sculpt, playability and quality
I’m not surprised on Cyborg Spider-Woman.
There’s a ton of marketing material and even other figures that has characters that either didn’t show up or gone through drastic changes. I even have a movie poster that is full of Spider-Men who don’t even show up as background characters in the film.
It’s been awhile too since I looked into it, but I remember seeing word on all sorts of production related issues / changes / and delays like you mentioned also happened with the movie. Ain’t no telling how many things got chopped last minute.
And yeah definitely not worth the price for her. Heck if they included an extra figure and maybe some accessories maybe it would kinda balance it out but def not worth it
I'm almost certain that this character was just the regular Cyborg Spiderman before someone got cute and decided to make it female despite there being absolutely nothing feminine about the design.
@@jeggsonvohees2201 This 100% must be what happened, The build of that figure is a male with literally 0 anything making it spiderwoman
@jeggsonvohees2201 youre saying this about the movie that wants to brainwash kids into believing that men are woman of course thats what happened
Fulcum's left leg isn't in the Green Lantern's color scheme. It's in Aquaman's Colors. The knee even has his symbol.
good review, I don't have many McFarlane Megafigs, (a slightly broken) Titan Joker, Overtkill, Violator and Doomsday. I still have hope for a Barbatos Megafig in the future, I absolutely love the Dark Nights: Metal stuff but Fulcum wasn't on my list, weird prologue combiner mech
Only ones I have are the original Rebirth Clayface release and Killer Croc. Though part of the reason why is that I have limited space.
Cyborg spider woman is the strangest charcter ATS introduced us too. And wild she got a fig for being in the movie for like half a second
If Hasbro is doing DC, that fulcum abominus would be a Haslab😂
The way things are going it's going too be hard too collect ,on websites bots /SCALPERS never on shelves and it's like it's never enough for everyone, plus their sneaking in higher prices 😢💯
If you ask me the Marvel legends biggest problem is that their demanding more for less. The rarely outside of discount stores are charging a reasonable price for them. And for Mcfarlane the problem I have with his toys are my past experiences of them all being fragile barely touched and gently handled and breaking within a week and sometimes even in packaging.
Honestly thought Cyborg Spider-Woman looked like more of a Spawn character.
A better comparison would of been kalibak or antimonitor vs the cyborg spidey
Now try comparing buildable figures
🤔🤔 Ay hold on...
Now that I actually think about it I really don't even feel that his mega figures are worth the price either. They usually have limited articulation take up too much room the box that is they're only a lot of times an inch or inch and a half taller than a regular figure they usually get no accessories.
Haven't seen the movie, cyborg spider what?
It doesn't matter "she" is only on screen for a few seconds and doesn't speak.
that Spider women looks like a Spider man
yo thats what im saying, theres no way in hell thats a woman
I'm pretty sure it was a Cyborg Spiderman before someone on the team decided to change it last minute into a "female". That would explain why the body is completely male.
@@jeggsonvohees2201 I have that same feeling
@@jeggsonvohees2201 makes sense I remember having a cyborg spider-man toy when I was young I think it came from the old 90's cartoon when they were doing the clone saga or something with symbiots when a bunch of different spider-men had to team up but he had a metal arm and a red eye patch thing and a white band tied around his head he was just regular spider-man size though not big and beefy like this new toy
@@theQuickining I have the Marvel Legends version of that Cyborg Spidey, it's pretty neat.
ITS A MAN, BABY
Making Jessica Drew a Deluxe figure by providing her the motorcycle would have been an idea I'd honestly go for if this remained a BAF
Fulcam Abominous should have been at least twice as tall as he is. That's the #1 reason hes not in my collection
why ? because the translation of a 1 time robot is 2 small ? It would have been a double edge sword being people would complain about price.
In the comics it's like the megazord. It's supposed to be massive. Could have at least made it the size of the batmobile or something
megafigure should be as an individual item.
Man, you picked two of the worst possible figures I can think of. I intentionally avoided buying either one of these.
It’s been said before but when you speak definitively about stuff you should do a little bit of research because four figures is not typical of a build a figure wave in fact it’s typically closer to five or six, I have even seen more, to be fair I have also seen four figure BAF waves but no four is not typical by any stretch of the imagination. also they would absolutely not have just given baf Parts with the main four the whole concept of build-a-figures is to make you buy the figures you don’t want so there would definitely have been parts with Jessica Drew and Spot. You danced around the truth which is that the fact that the initial spider verse wave was SIX figures makes people believe that she was originally intended to be a baf. Honestly I don’t understand where you got four parts from because it’s obviously five or six each of the limbs plus torso and head/pelvis or just head which has gone both ways.
That
I am not willing to pay the extra for a builder mega figure. In fact I wish he would quit making a figure in general it's annoying. I got burnt with the endless winter wave his legs don't stay on no thanks not to mention I had to buy a couple figures that who cares about them I didn't in fact no one did.
yes I hate build a figures I want Atrocitus but I don't want any of the figures that make him and if I like a figure out of a wave I just have stupid parts for a figure I don't want just make the figures and give better paint jobs and accessories instead of BAF parts
why do you buy if it annoys you and that now u hope he don’t make figures 💀
I hate the build a figure concept. I have so many parts to figures I can't complete because I couldn't find the figures on shelves anywhere. It I saw it once and bought the figure I wanted more first from the set only to never see the other or others again, but the one/ones I bought, saw them everywhere.
@@bondagedangel yes I understand if you go online you have to pay an arm and leg get the one figured to complete your build figure. It's just a giant circle jerk.
@@bondagedangelSame. Gotta shell out to complete Cosmo from the GotG 3 wave eventually, I guess, but I couldn't find Mantis and Adam Warlock anywhere in stores.
No I would not . I dislike both lines and collect other things and buy the figures that I like . This whole debate of who does it better kind of loses itself to opinions. Great video though and see you in the next
Dude the Spider man one looks like a McDonald’s toy that thing actually looks terrible
In general, Mcfarlane has always given a better deal on their larger figures ...... Not sure why, maybe they are loss leader items and they use them as such, or maybe somehow they have a way to make larger figures without losing money in a way Hasbro hasn't figured out yet ..... But in most cases the Mcfarlane is the better option for getting something big and deluxe, for less money .....
That being said, in this case, while the Mcfarlane is the better deal, the Marvel Legends is the better figure ..... On all measurable points outside of price, it is the better figure .....
Both are obscure characters ..... Fulcrum Abominus appeared in 1 comic that didn't even sell 100,000 copies, Across the Spiderverse made over half a Billion dollars at the box office ..... Fulcrum is by far the more obscure character
As for articulation, with thigh cuts, a double jointed arm, and classic ML ankle articulation (not that ball joint abomination Mcfarlane keeps using for some reason) the ML is the better articulated figure
Lastly paint, there is a ton more paint on the ML than the Mcfarlane, and when it's nots paint, it different colored plastics to account for more color variation on the figure ...... whereas on the Mcfarlane, for a character that's supposed to be comprised of 7 other very colorful characters in their own right, it only has 6 base colors on the whole thing
Sculpt is pretty even on these two, although the Mcfarlane has the cooler character design
All in all, as I said, the Mcfarlane is the better deal, but to be fair, the ML is a better figure pretty much across the board
23:50 I think for the Spider-woman situation, I feel like this should be part of an iceberg. I feel like he spot on with this. There’s no way in hell they thought. Oh yeah, let’s make them figure of her instead of another Ben Rylie or.. giving another chance to penny Parker. I feel like she had more screen time than cyborg idk.
Cyborg spider "woman" is something horrific...
is retail industry in united states are that bad??? i never heard cases that people swap figures inside of windowless boxes here in my country so nobody complain about stupid shit like that in here.
Yeah, stores accept returns with swapped parts on a regular basis here. Sometimes it'll be put back onto the shelf after a swap.
Mcfarlanes break I’ll never buy a big fig from them again
