    I know that the Elgato Wave is in a different category than these dynamic usb mics, but as it has been probably the most popular usb streaming mic for quite a while, it would be interesting to have it included in the mic comparisons. I know the differences between condenser and dynamic mics in theory, but hearing them next to each other would be helpful

    Wow! Unprocessed, listening on good headphones, the Deity sounds like the Beacn. But holy cow, once you processed it, the Deity represented your voice so much better! I was really surprised, as Harris from Alpha Gaming had done a bit of testing and I think I liked the way his Beacn test clips came out just slightly more than the Deity (probably because of the aforementioned limiter issues) and the 32-bit float option in the Beacn is freaking great. I have a MixPre-3 II for nature recording, and boy, those super recoverable files are something else! If the Beacn is implementing a similar way of keeping it from clipping, I’d be more interested in that just for that feature.

    One thing I was just thinking about, when you do your mic comparisons in the videos, it may be cool to add the prices of the mics that way you can see the difference in prices. This I think will help those who come to you for reviews to help determine if a mic is worth $50 more than others or what have you.

    So what do you suggest the gain should be at? I’m a total noob. I just want it to sound good without messing with EQ stuff. Is there any way to make it sound pretty good with ease (since it sounds bad right out of the box apparently)? Or should I just go with a wave 3 or something? My yeti nano is mediocre and also I can’t stand using Logitech g hub to control it. Somehow the gain randomly drops to 10 constantly.

    After buying this mic and setting up equalizer apo with a simple gate, rn background noise remover, and EQ'ing out my siblances a bit I am extremely happy. I live in an rv in Arizona so my ac and fan are blowing 6' from behind the mic. It picked up a little less of the background noise from the ac but the big part is my girlfriend watches TV in the bedroom and there is no ai noise remover that can differentiate that and remove it all properly. I've been going back and forth between the videogame review I made and someone with a shure sm7b and an xlr mini (about 800$ setup) and I find it very difficult to find a difference in quality aside from when I knew rn noise had to try hard to do its job... a simple blue yeti nano has nothing on this thing. No more 4th times the charm on my voiceovers!

    Beacn's software and the mix devices put them in a league of their own. The fact that their mic doesn't sound fantastic out of the box, and even with processing to some extent, is certainly the Achillies heel of their product stack right now. Hopefully they can solve it by tweaking their DSP/software a bit. Despite the extra cost I still think the beacn mic is a better value for people who need a mic and mixer. If you JUST need a mic or you're fine with buying secondary devices like a Mix Create, Deity have certainly made a more attractive product. It's just tough to say if USB mics and other devices will be able to justify their cost as more and more companies pack incredible software in them like Wave Link/Beacn.

    The Deity VO-7U does not play well with Windows 11 - every time the PC restarts the mic needs to be unplugged / plugged in for it to work again. Hoping this is just a simple Win 11 update waiting to happen or a driver update from Deity. Not a massive deal considering how rarely I restart the PC but still something I'd like fixed.

    Let's remember that if a mic is a direct competitor to another brand of mic, then it needs to have relative features. The reason the beacn mic is up in price is because of its features. Whereas this mic does not. So, I wouldn't even compare the two microphones. It is 100 doll hairs cheaper and doesn't have what the beacn has. Thats just my opinion. Personally, I think the beacn mic sounds better. What nobody realizes is that it will sound different with every voice.

    I'm getting so tired of fake "X killer" reviews. An "X killer" should have most/all the unique features/qualities of X, plus something else (extra feature(s), lower price, etc.). This doesn't even have 32-bit float or the on-mic audio chain, the 2 features that made the Beacn interesting. Sounding better with zero processing doesn't make it a killer. This would've been better as a regular review without the clickbaity title.

    • @EposVox
      @EposVox  2 года назад +1

      Alternatively, as is the case for most people, an "X Killer" gets people all they need from the thing for a significantly cheaper price. See: the vast majority of people mad that the BEACN mic is so expensive when they don't really care about some of the extra features

    • @nothsa2k
      @nothsa2k 2 года назад

      That's fair, especially if you're seeing a lot of complaints that mostly care about lowest price and good-enough quality. People being mad about something with more features (that they don't want) being more expensive is silly though, and I'm sorry you have to deal with that.

      @@AJCoReTV Okay, no need to get offensive, i'm not uploading necessarily frequently, and probably not stuff that tickles your fancy, but am i not allowed to express my distaste in certain videos because of that? Like i said, i still think it's good videos, but i'm just not super interested in watching mic review after mic review is all.

    Being honest, sounds really crappy, podcasting/streaming, doesnt matter condenser/dynamic/w.e, you still want a crispy voice and this 1 sounds so muddy, pop filter off still sounds like mud.
