Also wear pads when you learn to drop in. You will fall, you will get scretches. They might not be bad, but they will hurt, give you more fear next time and might give you some hard weeks. I wear pads, but I recently couldn't walk for a few days due to impact on my left knee. It was really swollen. If you just start learning (good and fitting) pads make things a lot easier. And yeah, I look like the baby at the local (medium sized) halfpipe. But most other people just sit around doing nothing, while I actually skate, and that's worth it for me.
those words about the helmet. truue shit, back in the 90s i keept forgetting it and got smashed. and i was a big vert driver mostly, soo when i crashed i crashed hard. once flew out in a fence and then out into the road on the other side. Just wear the damn helmet for real!!! i was just lucky cause i was about 7 meters up in the air full speed, so lucky to still be able to ride with out drolling
And knee pad-shin guards, forearm guard-elbow pads, wrist guards, a mouthguard or just a helmet with face covering, and then a cup or at least if you’re learning something that you can fall on your balls on, and possibly other pads too.
34 years old and my daughter wants to skate I haven't skated since the first roces 5th element came out this has actually helped me remember before I go out and splat infront of my oldest 😂 great channel will definitely check the rest of your vids.
I watched your video this morning and then went to the skatepark and for the first time ever was able to get back up the ramps without climbing on my hands! Thanks so much. I feel like a proper blader now.
If there are less people at the park you can also ask a friend to hold your hand for dropping in because it helps to Lean forward and it gives you more confidence 👍(great video)
I watched a lot of your video and I really like the way you talk about "how the brain can control you". It's always a good reminder to know what to focus on. Thank you for all your videos... It helps a lot.
Great video! Such useful tips for beginners. Dropping in can be super scary, so I'm sure this will help people dealing with that fear. Also liked what you said about wearing a helmet. So true!
Awesome video mate, love the tutorial about dropping in....take a while to get comfortable committing to the drop in. Am sure you have inspired many people to take up the sport. The inline industry is lucky to have you!!!! Props from Australia!!!!
Your tips are exactly the same Ias what I was telling myself last month standing on a quarterpipe. I'm 38 years old and haven't skated for 22 years. Last month I went to a skatepark on my old Roces Majestic 12 with my 10 year old cousin. I felt like a solid piece of wood but wanted to show her my skills. After 22 years I dropped in a 2 m high quarterpipe and didn't fell. I still got it and it felt so fking awesome! My style was crap and my old skates with 100 kg on top sounded according to my cousin like a jet fighter! I'll show her this video! thnx!
All I know is "skating is stopping". Braking & stopping is a challenge for me,i can skate more but when it comes to stopping or braking I have a challenge. As long as you can Stop/brake then you have the FREEDOM to move freely on your skates.💯 Am from Kenya. Just resumed skating & I want to focus on it only hoping to be the best in my country 🇰🇪🇰🇪🔥
in my social studies class all the tables are labeled with countries and I just remembered that one time Kenya came in last place for our table point thing. (answering questions get your table a point. Table with the most points gets a reward)
Thanks - great vid. I'm ok on these skills but very much still a noob so tips like these are really appreciated. Love seeing the experts nailing all the crazy jaw-dropping shit but great to have basic-level visual support like yours too. Keep em coming, I need them! Thanks again 👊
I grew up roller blading and my husband recently bought me some new blades. He skateboards and I wanted to do something while I was there with him. I want to get into something that’s fun and also a workout. Will this allow me to get that good workout by practicing ?
Great review man! I'm turning 30 this year and want to pick up blading. However, when you get a little older, you're not as fearless as when you were growing up lol. Thanks for breaking it all down
Again great mental tips for anyone to understand. I've thought a lot about the similarities between pumping up and down ramps and propelling yourself in a swing. I know I recently watched a tutorial where the advice was pushing through your heels or toes depending if going up or down, and I thought it was a great advice on the subject too.
Thanks for making great content. I've been out of the game for awhile but found my old Oxygen Argon 3.1's a few weeks ago. Just picked up the Michel Prado Gawd boots- can't wait to get started!!
My son wants me to use my skates at the skatepark with him. Didn't have much faith since I haven't actually been skating for close to 10 years but after watching this and some of your other videos I think I'm going to give it a shot. I'm only 26 so I shouldn't get too hurt haha
My man you forgot 'whats up bladeFamm!!' Just wanna say i really learn alot from all your videos and I appreciate you for taking the time to teach the basic! Keep it coming cause i am learning! Thank you brother!
Thank you. You are a great master. Trying to rollerblade out of the bowl led me to your videos. Hope i can achieve that soon cuz it's damn embarrassing 😆🤜🏼
this vid also explained the phylosophy of life. when its something new or look dangerous, your brains tell you , don't do it. when you want to learn look where you wanna go not where u at.. do something you learn when u were a kid, just push back n go.
38, just got into aggressive (I know it's late) mid life crisis I guess, I can skate and stop etc but this is my next challenge. Advice is good and straightforward will be looking forward to attempting this
did the plowstop recently in my aeons, the frame touched ground (since your wheels are smaller and the frame is thicker), lost all grip immediatly and fond myself sliding the pads. It were funny but I was pushing my kid in a cart :)
I just learnt to drop in today thanks to ur video!!! I’m too scared to go up the ramp though 😂 do I need to buy aggressive inline skates with the grind blocks? Or can I do it with my ordinary 4 wheel skates to get back up? I’m terrified of getting up there and just rolling back haha
So i want to go the the skating Park with my friend and skate with her but I have don't know skates are better for tricks. Roller skates or Rollerblades? I have Rollerblades bud I don't know if i should switch despite being in them for so long
Trying to get into this in my town is next to impossible. As a kid it was massive and i could never really afford it. Now as an adult, i hate the gym and need to keep fit so i got myself a second hand set of usd carbon something of the other so just going tto whack my headphones on and get out there.
Havent sropped in since I was 15. Onmy skated parks in the winter growing up . Everything was and still is street to ke. Can grind anything still at 35 years and fat but a little nervous about dropping in again
Several things! Incline skates have all wheels in a straight line, aligned with the middle of your skate. Similar to an ice-skate. They specialize in speed and tight turning. Quad skates have wheels more separated, think 2x2 similar to how the wheels of a car are placed. There's a break called a toe stop on the top of the skate. These skates specialize in maneuverability, and style although they are slower. Blocks could be used to do tricks however. Hope this helps!
I love how you’re not just about technical stuff when you talk skating. You’ve got this skate wisdom, like I’m listening to a therapist :D
Thanks 🤙 All about helping others
Yeah he's a real dr phil of skating.. 🙄
@@acostablades8138 hey, quick question. What's the difference between having 2wheels on your inlines instead of 4?
@@Mrderful Easier grinds but skating around is not as smooth

I blade with a mouth guard, they are cheap, and i haven’t lost anymore teeth skating
@@davyjones2994 Yeah, I also started doing that.
one of the first times I dropped in I fell backwards on my wrists, and it it hurt so bad, so I would recommend wearing wristguards as well
You shouldn't be embarrassed by wearing pads if your a mature adult.. I'd people give you a hard time it's because their not mature.
@@snavisTM never said that I am a mature adult. I wish :)

True. WOW

Undoubtedly the most useful video I've found - thank you! (that kid happily going "wheeeeee!" in the background though, hahah)
Wow this video is very informational for beginners. I haven’t found any good encouraging content like yours. Thanks so much for this video! ❤️

Forgot my helmet first time I went to a skate park got a concussion didn't even skate for weeks almost months finally started skating again though
So many at the skate parks don’t wear protective gear either. It’s cheap insurance too! Your lucky you came out of that ok!
I need to remember this because I usually eat shit going down a ramp for the first time and i'm really surprised I havent gotten a concussion yet.

Holy shit I’m in the same boat with my son. Oxygen AR1.0 was my last skate
The swing set reference just changed things for me thanks man
just came to your channel from back to blading. really good channel. subbed. happy christmas!!
Thank you, gotta share that Love!

Hello!
Wonderful video. I am looking to buy a good pair of aggressive skates. Would you have any recommendations for beginners?
I would strongly recommend the Usd Aeon 61mm skate. Check out Intuition skate shop, Rollerware house and Carriers skate shop.
The park looks well built. The parks in Vegas feels uneven alot of vert for a small ramp..
wow that view
You are my hero❤️
What are the best skates to get for starting out I’m a confident hockey player roller and ice but want to get into aggressive
Thank god now i can use my mma skills
Thanks!
Cool vid! I got a rollerblade njr for the kid. Is it any good to drop in or carve with an anti rocker setup?
It can be done with anti but youll get more agility and speed with a flat setup
u really helped me

jordans x skates? dope i think frank morales makes skate boots that look like shoes like that
I am going to the park tomorrow so scared but hope this works
