"Dead blow" refers to the shot fill for better energy transfer/lower bounce. This feature can be implemented in different hammer styles including soft-face and ball-peen, both of which you have examples here.
Cool tool Tim
I encourage anyone seeing this video to instead buy a Trusty-Cook brand deadblow hammer Trusty Cook is made in the United States, Indiana specifically. I had hoped the Milwaukee was contracting with them, but Googling the model numbers and country of origin, resulted in Taiwan. And the Trusty Cook is priced in line with the Milwaukee.
As to the ball peen, consider a Vaughan .
Thank you for the recommendation!
Vaughan is my preferred ball peen
I have all 3. The Trusty Cook hammers are great… but the handle is so long it makes swinging in tight spaces difficult. On the Vaughn’s I agree completely. I have tons of them in different sizes for metal fabrication. Both of those are inexpensive and great hammers (Brands).
That said, I bought the Milwaukee 32oz dead low ball peen hammer yesterday…and I love it. Every part of it. Handle length, feel in the hand everything. Quickly became my favorite hammer.
Note the lifetime warranty of these as a mechanic the trusty cook has none just consider that
I’m not 100% certain, but I’ve heard that Tekton’s dead blows are made by TC. That could be a great way to get painless warranty service while still getting USA made hammers.
Now we know what is taking the place of estwing at depot
I bought all six and theyre totally perfect. The reason your dead blow ball peen hammer is called that is because it contains the shot inside of it. I call the 32oz Big Kahuna because its a beast. Nothing has beaten it.
Glad to hear they're working well for you. Thanks for watching.
I might grab the standard ball peen. i grabbed the other two styles from HF during a sale on Icon items.
In some applications , you want a hard face but without the tendency to bounce.
Trusty Cook looks like a good alternative at these prices.
True that…Trusty cook served me me 16 years in automotive industry
I just wish my TC handle was shorter like the Milwaukee
@@flatbedtrucker❤
They have a bundle that goes on sale for all 6 for 180 frequently
Tekton ball peen dead blow might be a better choice. They are made in USA and made by trusty cook I imagine...and are cheaper or same price.USA made is better every time and Tektons warranty blows away Milwaukees..
The dead blow ball peen has shot in the head, I have a snap-on one that works quite well for taking stuff apart.
Will the complete red hammer be used to hit the wood and make the assemblies so as not to damage the wood? good day thanks for the video
Prefer Estwing. American company making American products.
Another use for dead blow hammes is cast iron. A metal hammer head will crack/shatter cast iron.
LOL-compared to the tool trucks these are almost free.
A dead blow ball pean should be heavyer. Also my snap on has sand in it i believe
This one has sand too i have several
Why do you wish there was a larger ball peen than the 24oz? What would you use it for?
wow those prices.... theyre some proud of them hammers
70$ for one hammer.. id be reluctant to pay that for a pair
Do they come in green ? ...... Just kidding.
The ball peen dead blow hammers are just trying to simulate the great Snap On one's? I'm not understanding what the point is, no pun intended? The dead blows that have a one piece design, was never a fan of that? Love my older Craftsman USA dead blow hammer, has softer rubber faces covering the whole striking area, instead of just one hard piece of plastic?
The question marks are giving me an aneurysm
You mist the stand up feature on the ball peen hammers.
Same as icon?
Best purchase ever
As an industrial maintenance technician those ball peen hammers suck I want a wood handle for anti-vibration but more importantly it won't damage what you're working on, if you miss
cant wait to try these!
Waste of your hard earned money
They look cool. But wouldn’t touch them they are to stubby/thick looking. I have trusty cook
Trusty cook, Tekton, Vaughn all make/sell great alternatives to these.
Why buy Chinese crap when you can buy American made hammers for less and better quality, like trusty crook . Or even better Mac or Snap On
Because Mac and Snap-on are probably made in some Asian countries too and three times the price.
These ball peen hammer or the anti vibe peen hammer??
I only buy "No Bounce" hammers.
Antivibe
They have cushioned handles I have all 6 they don't vibrate I threw all my others away even plastic handles
Where are they made
