I'd highly recommend techs start with tools like this. I think they'll find they don't need to get the tool-truck tool later, and they can put the difference in a retirement accounts...

I just can’t justify the cost of tool truck tools compared to brands like Icon, Gearwrench, Tekton, etc. They’re fine quality tools with a warranty you can actually use if the tool fails.
Snap On is the worst ever when it comes to warranty replacements. Maybe second to Lowe’s for Craftsman and Kobalt… they absolutely suck. But I can never get my Snap On stuff warrantied.
Glad to see this hammer is holding up well! I’ve wanted to grab one of these hammers.

@@dailydose8035 I guess if you have access to a good tool truck, it's fine. I don't, I've bought all of my Snap On stuff online. Their customer service isn't of any use unless you provide Snap On dealer info, which I don't have.
I've also heard stories of people having a hard time getting warranty replacements from their Snap On guys. Obviously, it all depends on the dealer.

I don’t have any problems with my dealer. You’ll just need to try and find a good dealer they might warranty your tools as long as you buy a couple of things off of them.

Hmmmm....I won't BUY any SnapOn tools but I try and warranty any SO tool I get my hands on. No wonder why u find it difficult, what a huge surprise! Decent SnapOn CUSTOMERS get exceptional service and dont have warranty issues.

@@aussiehardwood6196 All depends on your tool guy. I didn't say I won't buy SO, I just prefer other brands. I'm just saying that my customer service experience with them has been less than stellar.

I just received the Tekton 50oz yet the icon 32oz feels heavier. I’m sending back my Tekton and will grab the icon. Waiting for the 50oz Icon

I have both icon dead blows and trusty cook dead blows and I prefer icon I like the fill a lot better as well as I like the looks of them better I don't have any Snap-on so I can't compare them to snap on but price wise I will stick with my icons

They only make the one hammer, they need to make a whole set in my opinion. My HF always has 0 in stock. I wanted to use the 25% off last week.. maybe next sale

Hi Sir: Keep trying to and see the result of the plastic, I think it will stand up compare with Snap On. The price is lower compare with Snapon but the Quality is not. The plastic use on the dead blow is Industrial Plastic which is with stand up with cut. Please keep updated and sharing more information needed more improved.

How many times have I picked up my plastic handled snap on ball peen hammer and swung it only to realize that it was backwards from the intended use. You don't get that with a conventual wooden handle ball peen hammer, the weighting is such that you can tell that its backwards just by how it feels in your hand.

just a heads up almost everyone but snap on uses trusty cook to make their hammers I like the icon tool line so far haven't had any issues. haven't used the ratchets as mine are 99% snap on and lets be honest they are the best

    • @aussiehardwood6196
      @aussiehardwood6196 Год назад +1

NO they DON'T. This is false misinformation, Snap On makes their own hammers at a totally different location to Trusty Cook. Trusty Cook are decent USA made hammers, much better than Icon but vastly different in design to Snap On. Please no more malinformation, disinformation or misinformation. I'm watching and ready to call it out.

I have a couple snap-on dead blows from the 1980s that have none of the plastic left on them. Kinda like the screwdrivers which I have a drawer that is full of crumbling handles. How do you warranty a pile of plastic?

It is *H U G E* in size - I got the Trusty cook ones or get Tekton something else as this one is the size of a sledge hammer. Handle is *W I D E* as - reminds me of Andre the GIANT.

I love good quality tools, but ohhh in the U.K. ??????????? Seriously the hammer your holding would cost me here around £200 GBP, $ 240:00 US. That's a heck of a lot of money for one simple tool! U.S To U.K postal costs are seriously prohibitive P&P would be as much as the item itself. Only once did I buy from a U.S seller and that was only a certain kind of pocket knife and the seller was kind enough to put it into a large consignment of gear coming here and the recipient posted it on to me. That item was only a few GBP but the P&P was over double the amount! I ordered a 32 Oz Dead Blow Ball pein from Amazon here , but after reading a few reviews I cancelled as it was clear it was a made in China copy, and a photo of one bought by someone showed it was very very soft metal face full of dents and dinks, and it broke, it was also covered in welding spatter. the head broke off of the shaft and the plastic around the head had cracked and started to come off, and that was it's first day in use!
