Man, thank you very much from the heart! I suffered 2 fucking hours until I found your video. In the remaining videos, not a word was said about creating separate layers for AE. God grant you health!
Great tutorial! You walked through it step-by-step in a very easy way. I've seen similar tutorials like this but not as good and easy explained as this one, thank you! :)
YES THANK YOU, all this time I stupidly exported the AI layers in a higher resolution to work with them as PNGs or standard PSD layers, because I thought AE couldn't read vectors or something. Now I can finally work freely with scale without getting my layers pixelated
Great tutorial. Thanks! I just wanted to give advice for those who have problems: Make sure it's PDF compatible when saving your Adobe Illustrator file.
@@EliasSarantopoulos I’m watching more videos now. I’ve struggled with many AE tutorials, but I find yours to be some of the most helpful. Keep up the great work 👍🏼
I think this good video shows how poorly these applications work together, all the job you need to do (prepare and cleanup) to make this simple task work ... why Adobe?
he's a tip..instead of deselecting the files...just cut all new ones (while selected), you'll be left with unwanted files ..select, then delete all! after that, you can paste all the new shape layers!
Hopefully this helps others who are having difficulty when using newer versions of Illustrator cc: Do NOT use the "target everything" column. Just select the top (aka "main") layer that contains everything else. Then follow the instructions just as Elias describes. For whatever reason, Illustrator freaks out when selecting the "target everything" column... in my experience.
For the easier selection of the AI type of layer, it is better to click on the AI color (for me it was blue square) of the layer and simply choose Select Lable Grope in the opening window, then click the "delete" button on a keyboard. This way is appropriate if we need to delete all of the AI layers and leave just shapes layers
Maria, if I understand correctly. I believe you are referring to targeting the layers from the Layers panel, then clicking on the fly-out menu on the top right corner?
@@EliasSarantopoulos thank you for your attention. My issue is about the layers' allocation into 2 groups - the top - shapes layers, and AI files in the bottom. Then it could be easy to delete AI files from the project. Manually deleting every AI layer is a long time process. If you know the better way than mine, please, share it
@@mariaoleksienko5020 What I usually do is a use the Expand command for the layers I am not planning to animate as one and separate the others. Makes sense? 😀
