AM32 Discord is great, I was helped every time I hit the wall trying to install AM32 bootloader. Only thing than is heavilly missing is reverse engineering of BLHeli_32 update process allowing smooth pure SW install of AM32 bootloader + firmware without need to solder those tiny solder pads.
If a manufacturer has a issue, Make a side program for if the AM32 ESC fails it will record the problem on something kinda like Black Box 🎁then the code can be adjusted.
I asked the monkey's paw for more AM32 ESCs, sorry everyone. Nice to get to know the person behind the code and hope we don't burn em out with the demands of the entire quad community!
5:10 We (the company i work for) have a whole group of specialists making motor controllers. Don’t feel bad for not making it as fast as you thought. It’s hard if you want to do it right, especially sensorless as we use it in the hobby.
Would love to see him put some time into the battlebots world. The problems faced with using these motors in battle bots are basically the worst. Could be a lot of lesson learned and takeaways that could be applied through out.
It's starting to feel like companies don't want our hobby to survive. It's only because of the hard work of people like this that we can enjoy our toys. Thank you to all the open source heroes out there.
What? These open source guys are heroes that's for sure, but saying companies don't want our hobby to survive is like saying they don't want to survive themselves. It's not really an accurate statement. The only entity I see destroying the hobby is the government.
Thanks for all your great work both of you! Very keen for sfoc/foc implementations! I wonder how much of a difference it will make, considering most quadcopter escs run at very high RPM
You mentioned that some ESCs and some motors are not a good combination. I've been building drones for 12 years and I would love to try AM 32. In your experience which ESC and motor combination has been the best performer on AM 32 for 5-in quads?
"in phase current sensing" that does sound interesting, but why dont we just go full hall effect for crawlers? They could be easily added to outrunners with a 3d printed mount. The sensors aren't exactly expensive these days.
@@ChrisRosser Oh nice. I could see that being useful for hobbyist robotics as well. Is the hardware as simple as breaking out some IO pads for the sensor inputs? If so, hopefully manufactures will start doing so regularly.
Please don't burn out :( And make the hardware makers do some jobs, and make them send the hardware to you and maybe make a priority queue and if the manufacturer is platinum supporter then their products are on priory queue
"quick intereview..." 1 hour later lol thanks for the video mate. great stuff pete and chris
Haha! Yep, it lasted longer than I expected...

Sincerely thank you Chris and Pete!
The support on AM32 discord is just amazing. 💯
Alka is a good guy, worked with him on some issues in skystars AM32 firmware. Crazy stuff going on in the world
This was awesome! Thank you so much Pete and Chris! Great listen!
Thanks for listening!
Thank you Pete and Chris and a lot of other enthusiasts in our hobby for what they are making to keep it alive and hopefully growing! 🎉❤

Oh, SimonK, so many memories came up when he mentioned it! 🥰

Good information love learning new things thanks guys for the talk 👍

It's weird you feel that way just because blheli devs decided to leave the industry, unless there's other companies binning it that I'm not aware of
@@EagleFPV43BlHeli left the market due to export restrictions, at least officially.
Blheli made good money. No way in hell was it their free decision to shut down.
Chris are you going to make any low kv 1404 motors?
Alka is an absolute hero!
What do you think about the Flywoo Goku G45m mini am32 esc for long distance flying in a Flywoo Explorer LR 4 using 1404 motors
Thanks for all your great work both of you!

We've got some prototype hardware coming for hall sensor integration.

Is there more tbs stuff coming or was this filmed before the gorilla mount esc came about?
Maybe someone can chime in here because I haven't looked yet, but are there any single AM32 ESCs on the market for the fixed wing market?
Yes, some are designed for crawlers but you can reset the settings and use them on wings.
