This scam is going around on almost all of the RUclips sites. It's been going on for a while. I've been reporting them on my favorite sites (like yours) as well. So some of us have your back too! Congrats on the new baby!!

That's a stupid scam too. I remember when the scammers would camp out in the dollar store parking lot and offer to fix the dents on old people's Chevy Caprices. As if that wasn't bad enough, they promised to "paint over the fixed dents like Brad Angove on RUclips would." While it says a lot about the reach you've achieved, it's still lousy that a few of these almost 130K people are scammers.
Probably quite a few based on how many of those there were.
Those scam bots are on about every channel!! So annoying!!

It's disturbing how many of these videos I've watched. It's even more disturbing that enough people are falling for these scams that the scammers have become such a plague around here.

i received a scam message via Driftwood Guitars not long ago. I notified them but did not receive an acknowledgement from them. Who knows what action, if any, they took. Good luck.

This specific scam is on almost every single youtube channel and I don't quite know how it manages to ban evade - though indeed maybe it _does_ get banned but only after it's responded to basically all comments on a video

That scam is all over YT, not just you and regular users should know that. It normally shows up in the notifications.

I don’t make anything based on specific formulas like that, but I like the candy brandywine from house of Kolor for that type of look.

Sorry about the scam, congrats on baby! Wondering if when you start making videos again if you might consider the blackout ghost stripe challenge. I'm speaking of the EVH ghost stripes made famous by Mean Street Guitars. The mystery is what clear finish he uses to retain the gloss stripes and the matte empty spaces. I asked, he won't tell. Any guesses???

@@BradAngove just watched the metallic stripes on matte base. You mentioned you might add a clear but what product exactly and will it allow both the matte and gloss to retain their respective properties? Also, i don't recall seeing you taped the cavities. Is it important to protect the conductive shielding paint in those cavities?

Those scams are rampant on RUclips and somewhat on Facebook too. Don't trust any of them.

Pretty much every youtube channel gets hit by this, the spambots just comment on every comment. It's a pain.

I have seen this on other channels too. Looks like the creator of the channel (in this case you) selected me for a prize. I didn't bite. Must be some youtube scammer. Never trust the internet. What is wrong with people?
It seems like a goofy scam too. Requesting a direct message, which I don’t even think you can do on RUclips…

I do a cannabis growing channel, where I have giveaways of legal items, and this happens to me also, I think any genre of You tube vids get hit if they have giveaways, or whatever other words the bot algorithm look for in titles. I delete bots comments, and report when it happens to me.
I do the same when I see them. It’s definitely a hassle.
All of us that watch a lot of guitar channels have had these pondlife informing us that we've "won a prize". They're so obviously dodgy, it's unlikely anyone ever responds. If you did, there's no doubt they'll ask you for money for shipping or some such bs. I report them as spam and/or misinformation. It clearly has little or no effect though.

There are thousands of clone link scammers! Probably half of the channels I sub to have had the same scammers.
Damn; that’s brutal. I try to answer all my comments, and it’s really frustrating seeing so many of those.
Brad, these scams are so common I automatically ignore comment responses that claim I've won something. You can relax. Maybe just throw a disclaimer on scams in your usual description. .

its been done on every channel, for quite a while now. if anyone actually falls for it at this point... well they should stay off the internet. so sad youtube doesnt care to take action against scammers.

Have you ever tried to do a a pearl paint job , I know they cost a pretty penny to do but maybe on one of your guitars your selling so you could recoup the money.
Like a pearlescent (metallic) paint job? I’ve done several of those. Or do you mean something that looks like pearl?

I’m sure I’ll have a chance to do another one soon. They’re not all that complex with a gun, it’s just very important to get your prep work right because the pearl particles will flow weird into imperfections.

Every time I comment I win a prize, especially on a few gaming channels. I refuse there ps5 and ask them for a few pounds of lambs liver or a tiger something stupid like that.

I had a text saying I'd won a prize and I was to contact you on telegram.
Not knowing what telegram was I cocked a deaf 'un.
Clearly fake. I only accept prize messages via carrier pigeon.
