I'm shocked that you said the heatless curls don't last and fall out easier than any other method of curling your hair. My hair has never held a curl in my entire life no matter what product I use what tool I used my hair would fall flat the second I walked out my door and the air touched it. But heatless curls stay in my hair for days until I wash it again. Heatless curls are literally a dream come true for this girl!

Heatless curls actually should hold longer and stronger, when you wrap wet/damp hair with the right product. The way I learned it was the physical bonds are broken down/softened when wet, then rehardened in the shape of the "roller" when dry. Hot curls are always softer and more prone to falling out. Think about "vintage" hair that was washed and "set", on rollers once a week.

Heatless bathrobe belt curls hold so much better in my case than regular curls from heat tools. It took some time experimenting with right products and order of doing things but now I have figured it out. In the beginning they would drop pretty quickly, now they can easily survive wind, humidity outside and in my workplace and sleeping at night with satin hair bonnet. I usually redo them every other night, it takes like 4 minutes to do. First I put some curl activating gel in my hair and then lightly mist it with water. In the morning medium hold hairspray and then I brush them out. It was lifechanging.

Adding on to the comments about heatless curls holding longer! I have hair that is naturally a bit wavy, but sometimes I like to get a bit more curl out of it. Whenever I curl my hair using heat, it actually comes out *straighter* than it naturally is, whether I do it myself or go to a salon. I hate it. But heatless curls stay in my hair nice and long as long as I put my hair into the curlers damp.

I am 99% sure that the reason that she is taking them out in her car is not because they won't last but because the brands that are paying for this sponsorship asked her to do that to show the audience how flexible this is to use. I am a hair influencer and cordless hot tool brands ALWAYS ask me to do this in the specifications of the sponsorship. It's literally written into the contract to use the tool in your car to show people how "easy it is to use". It is actually so annoying...lol. Needless to say, as I have gained a bigger audience, I no longer accept anything that feels inauthentic like that. It is so gimmicky.

Thank you Chris for all your advice, I’ve adapted my hair routine to what you have been teaching and it works out great! Thank you for debunking these tiktok videos, but I disagree on the heartless curls one. If I don’t wet my hair with water before putting them in, then you’re right, the curls don’t last long. But, if I spray my hair with a little water beforehand, the curls actually last TOO well. Like I’ll brush the hair out 20 times and apply no hairspray, and it will take the whole day for the curls to fall out a little (I prefer the looser beach waves over tight curls). And, it makes sense with what you previously taught -“hair wants to stay in the shape that it dries in”- so if you spray your dry hair with water first, and then let the hair dry overnight in the curls, it will last.

Heartless curls actually work better for me. My heat curls fall out. But I do this overnight with a soft-holding curl balm in them when they are ever so slightly damp. My hair is mid-thigh length and is wavy but I usually just make it straight. This is the only way I get good curls haha. I can get the style to stay all day (they do loosen up slightly over the day) but I can spray it with a little rosewater, reset it in the curlers overnight, wrap in silk and refresh the style for about 3 days before I need to wash out the curl balm I use. I must emphasis it’s a soft holding product so the hair still feels nice, but it’s enough somehow.

Just to be clear - I've been watching quite a few of these videos because despite historically having having long hair my hair has always been super fine, greasy and flyaway. Of course I have been attracted by these videos for tips on how to best care for another grow out after insisting my husband chopped mine off into a bob to give my hair a break and total reset. Thanks to watching these videos it led me to the Blowout Professor!
I am happy to report that I have essentially ditched the hairdryer (I was always quite handy at blowdrying...) shampoo less frequently and just use a loose updo when it gets greasy. Yes I have tried rice water and rosemary oil - do they work? probably not! lol BUT what I am doing is taking greater care of my hair so damage is limited. At 64 the dusty grey roots show it is still growing. In 8 months my hair is now 15 inches from the crown. If I'd done none of this it would still be 15 inches.
But thanks to advice from the Blowout Professor I would say my hair is in the best condition I've known it to be! Thank you :)

Hello , I’m latina with natural frizzy hair and curls that are not tight. When I went to the salon they first did rollers, place me in dryer then blow dry my hair then use the flat iron. plus it burned my scalp. I had no choice but to figure it out myself. They never told me what to use or to give my hair a break. I stop doing everything. Then I found the professor. Watched many of his videos. And then I bought OLAPLEX 3 to use once a week before I wash my hair. Wet my hair then use OLAPLEX. Then I use Moroccan Hydrating Shampoo use your shampoo only on the scalp. Then Conditioner, after rinse. Towel dry gently and spray Pureology leave in conditioner. Don’t spray on roots. From an inch away from root all the way down until right before the ends. So not the ends. If your going gently blow dry then on drop of REDKEN BLOW OUT. All over hair. Comb hair to spread product. When your hair is done and dry. Use one drop of Moroccan oil ONLY at the ends. Whatever is left on your hands use for fly aways hair that stand up on top. Let me know if this helps. It could be confusing at the beginning.

My heatless curls last very well. I wrap them nightly. But they don’t require daily heat so that’s great for my hair. The curls do look best when you have first used a flat/curling iron to put them in and then wrap them every night

Everyone’s hair is different, but I get better longevity from heatless methods than from heat styling. That’s with the heatless style starting from damp, including a hold product, and waiting until it’s fully dry, which can be 12-16 hours for me, depending on the technique. But it lasts longer than the best results I’ve gotten from my regular stylist or several blow dry bars.
For me, the main advantage of heat styling is that it gives you more control and is less likely to look wonky in the back.

Chris.. wow, I just found your channel and find all your info super helpful.. I've even started using your recommended techniques just today. One thing I don't see alot of is SHORT HAIR... you know not all women have or want long beach wave hair... I've viewed ALOT of your videos, and I didn't see one short hair example. Please speak to these ladies in 2023! I live in Texas, which has very similar weather as Florida... I really enjoy anti-frizz demos and info... thanks for your consideration

My heartless curls do fall out a bit but they just turn into wavy. It still gives my hair a lot of movement, volume, texture and body and makes it easier to do other hairstyles like updos or braids that have the nice curled front pieces and ends. I love heartless curls.

I kinda use that blow drying hack but instead of blow drying (as I'm not good at it), I simply straighten the hair on the top and front, like a quick pass on some big sections. I don't even make the hair pin straight or anything, but it helps to make the hair look more presentable and clean, if I don't have the time to actually wash and style

i do rosemary vinegar wash after washing my hair, it actually helps with dry scalp(i have normally very dry skin and brittle hair due to health conditions so that really helps me) . But i left fresh rosemary in vinegar for 3 weeks before i started using it and i use 1 table spoon in 500ml water. That is enough for my waist length hair

I love your videos and I’ve even stocked up on professional products and and leave in conditioner… you’ve really helped me change up my hot game, but I have to ask you to look into heatless curls. My hair doesn’t hold a curl, my wedding curls were gone the next day… but my curls stay all day from heatless methods left in overnight. I do leave it until the last minute to take out, because it’s nice to have my hair out of my face for applying skincare and makeup - and then I’ll use a bit of hairspray to give them a bit more staying power. I’ll even have waves for a few days, but quite undefined.

  • @CJ_536
    @CJ_536 7 месяцев назад

the question is whether the heatless curls were created starting with damp hair or dry AND whether someone's hair has a natural wave. For people with straight hair, heatless curls MUST start with wet hair. Plan on like 24 hours for it to dry. I did this in high school before my hair turned wavy. The curl then stayed about 4 to 6 hours before falling. If you have wavy hair, you may just need a little oil or dampness and the heatless curl will take in about 4 hours and stay all day. So for me, if I lightly oil my hair, an overnight loose high bun on my head, with hair pins, not a scrunchy that would cause a crease, will keep my hair looking like I had a blowout all day - volume and bouncy curl. Put in braids? The crimp stays for DAYS. My hair is a very fine but medium density 2a and it holds a heatless curl like a charm but fights heat curls. So heatless curls CAN work - you just have to have the right hair. It's the best approach for us wavies.

I have waist-length, fine, straight hair that I never brush until it's completely dry, because not only it falls down in the shower, but it breaks a lot when I brush it when it's still wet. I only use a wide-teeth comb and never a brush, because I'm afraid of how much hair will be left on the brush afterwards. My hair is healthy, at least I think it is, because it's very shiny and soft to the touch, but it tends to get frizzy, especially after I wash it. I usually leave it to air-dry, but now in the colder months I use a blow dryer it and my hair gets wild. After watching some of the videos about essential hair-care products, I'm planning of purchasing some of the recommended products, even though they're quite pricy in my country, but, fingers crossed, I hope they'll turn out to be a great investment.
