When your baby is sick you become an expert; even when your baby grows up, he's still your baby!! I love the way Nolan draws Abigail in at this moment rather than shutting her out. You can see how much he respects her place in his son's life.
I remember when my kiddo was in medical distress… they were in the back yard, I was out front I heard a scream, dropped what I was doing ran to the back saw my kid on the ground, pick them up yelled for my wife to open the door (lucky I had a neighbor who was an EMT and he heard me yell) he grabbed his stuff and came over… it was a reaction to a bee sting. We had the kid stable be the time the ambulance got there… doctor said it was common in small kids and hopefully they grow up with better resistance.. My wife said I had gotten stung 4x and didn’t feel it till the next day.. both kiddos are older now and have resistance to the stings and bites now… but that what parents are supposed to do…
I believe it. I’m not gonna act like I know what it but you guys are definitely strong. I mean if my brother had to go through that I’d be the weakling of the bunch crying. My brother was in the hospital for 3 month and god diagnosed with mog. Man I sobbed so much cause I felt like I couldn’t help at all. I could on imagine how you guys where with that.
While i don't have what Henry has, I was born with a heart issue., Mine is i have a defect heart valve that at times causes the blood to pump into my heart faster than it can pump it out. The type i had is treatable (but also a pain to manage and deadly given the right issue happening) with an surgery at around 15 or 16 years with valve replacement but i didn't need to have a replacement as i was one of the 1 in a million whose own body healed the valve (there was some medical jumbo but that was the dumb down version) by about 90 percent. It still shows it's ugly head once in a while but i know how to handle it. Think about having a panic attack mixed with not being able to breath even more with panic attack, mixed with a migraine and then passing out and other things (it does depend on the person but mostly it is a panic attack dial up to 100 and you can die from the episodes) The thing is that my issue is/was the mildest form of the type of heart defect i have as many who have more advance forms are stillborn or die really young because of the strain of the heart and valves and surgery at the time (80s and 90s) wasn't advance enough to operate on a child's heart because of how delicate and location (hence why they wait till the mid teens as the heart has devolved and know more about the blood flow this making the surgery less risky as you can still die with the type of surgery needed but again even back then it was rare), it still isn't for the type of surgery to this day but surgery can be done only in the most severe cases. Plus it is the type of heart defect that many doctors tell the parents not to have any more children due to it being ressivive in the gene pool but every child born to parents who carry the gene will get some form of the defect or be stillborn.
Most probably loans. And Nolan was a construction worker, so most probably he was paying off the loan a long time. After which he finally became free to pursue a life in police duty.
Ambulances are expensive and also for things like anaphylactic reactions, response times can take too long (in situations where the person doesn't have an epi-pen)
I know it is just a show. But why would you drive your child in this state to the hospital on your own? You'd risking it stops breathing and you would not be able to help.
A few reasons; It's possible that an ambulance might take too long depending on how many are available and how close Nolan is to the hospital Or Nolan might not want to pay $1200 for a ride to the hospital
Where I live there are 2 trains through town and the ambulances drive slow. I’m MUCH faster in a pinch in my truck. In this situation he’s not bleeding out or suffering a broken back so we are attempting a speed record.
Thanks for explaining this - things are very different here in Germany. People mostly don't have to pay for the transport and in a City it is the fastest way to get to a hospital safely

The way Nolan picks up Henry like he weights nothing
Parents have been known to have super human strength when their kids are hurt
Adrenaline and the primal parental instinct are amazing things
I mean he’s a cop so he’s gotta be strong I guess
Something about parents getting superhuman abilities when their kids are in danger if i remember. And it's very real
It’s not just parental, I picked up my sister when she fell after what I thought was a broken ankle and we were both adults
My brother was born with TOF. It can get scary.

I have supraventricular tachycardia, so I see where coming from
I adore this show. ❤
This show is the best
Just want to say thank you yet again I love y’all
I had a major heart surgery when i was only three years old
Hope you are well
I wonder how they were able to afford all of Henry’s surgeries when they were a young couple.

I don't know about the US, but if you are in any European country I have already been at, you call the ambulance and stay on call until they arrive.
In real life wait for the ambulance, never drive a patient to a hospital on your own.
There’s plenty of scenarios when driving is the better option than an ambulance
Ambulances are expensive and also for things like anaphylactic reactions, response times can take too long (in situations where the person doesn't have an epi-pen)
What about meeting them half way?
Lol, yeah, cause all ambulances have amazing response times
A ambulance in LA can take a while.
