Just an update Matthew. I tried the Lumity devices and sent them back to try out the new Starkey Genesis AIs. After trialing them I'm going back to the Phonak Lumitys. The Starkey Genesis devices just did not work out for me at all. My wife asked me if I was sure they were hearing aids and not earplugs.
I have the new(er) Starkey Evolv AI hearing aids and I have to say that I let myslelf get sucked in by the fitness tracking hype. I'm not walking more, even though I have the ability to track it. If I had it to do over again I would have the Oticon More 1s that I tested at the same time as the Starkeys. Maybe next time I'll go back to Phonaks. Thanks Matthew, that was informative.
I went with Oticon Exceed Ultrapower Hearing Aids now because they have the most Amplification possible and are supposed to be better at Hearing and understanding Speech. They were the only ones my Audiologist showed me and last time I got my Hearing Aids I just got the ones with the most amplification possible then too so I never got to try other Hearing Aids like other people who have less Amplification so I Hear with what they think that would work best for me when I get new Hearing Aids.
Thank you for putting this together. A 16% improvement in understanding at first glance, looks disappointing. On the other hand, there have been incremental improvements since Venture, Marvel and then Paradise, so this is evidence of further improvement and has to be welcome.
Hey Graham, yes it will be interesting to see what that translates to in the real world. Phonak seem pretty excited by it...! Thanks for watching, Matthew
I live in Canada and have been using the Lumity R 70. Just over $4000 for a pair. Battery life is ok not perfect but ok. Speech in noisy background not as good as advertised. That could be due to not having real ear measurement done. Overall I am impressed but what do I know this is my first pair of hearing aids so it’s all new to me.
Sound great, i am at moment getting ready to get fitted for hearing aids, i have tinnitus and hearing loss in high frequency, i was going for paradise 90, would it be better to wait for this hearing aid.

Hey commission Sompo, thats a great question and really hard to answer without running some side by side comparisons in an audio lab. Perhaps we'll look at that one dayl. Thanks for watching, Matthew
New features sound great but very disappointed that they're not releasing a battery operated version. While I appreciate all the benefits of rechargeables, they cause too many problems for me AND they require a larger casing. These RICs are just too big for me. If Phonak offered a battery operated model with a slimmer profile, I might be an early adopter, but as is, I'll have to pass.
Hi Barry, Yes I'm with you on this one. I believe the Slim will be on the Lumity platform at some point ant may tick some boxes for you. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, Matthew
I'll go one further, they are a complete waste. Batteries work, I can buy 6 mos worth for $10 at Costco, and I don't have to wait for them to charge in a big clunky case.
ohhh.. I can't even think about recharging it.. carring this thing everywhere and being dependand on access to electricity and having to take it out to charge it... ohhh noo. @@meric12131415 yes I understand range, but like I said, when you come back in range they don’t reconnect. My previous aids were Oticon - flawless Bluetooth, reconnected every time you came back in range.
Getting rid of background noise would be great - I have a lot of fans that provide a lot of background noise. Does the Lumity CROS come in a battery model? I trialed the Paradise CROS rechargeable, but it didn't last a full day, so I had to switch to the battery model. I would like to see an XL rechargeable model - a little larger with more battery life as I came from the Audeo B and V series which are a lot larger.
Honestly, I have tried phonak paradise as well as signia 7AX. Signia is SO MUCH better, I just don’t understand how there is such big difference, especially in bluetooth features. And then speech. I just don’t get it why everyone is obsessed with Phonak.
Everyone has a different experience based on their hearing loss and needs. What works for one may not work for another. Wow, now you have to bring ANOTHER charger with you when you travel. Also, should they die you have to wait to charge them. Such a deal. Note to phonak and all the others, batteries are more convenient. They last a WEEK!! Should they die I can swap the battery in about 5 seconds and it is FULLY charged again for another WEEK!! Just because something seems cool does NOT mean it is. So, a sincere message to your engineers and marketing team: F.O.A.D.
@@HearingTracker My Charger Case Go for the Audeo Life is constantly needing resets and seems quite unreliable. Looks like they are using the same chunky charger for the Life versions of these too. Would be nice to see a range of inductive chargers as this one is really bulky and isn't suitable for just popping in a jacket pocket. It would be nice to have a backup charging option as I can see lots of people struggling with the fiddly reset procedure which is necessary to un-brick these chargers after they stop working.
Why do Rechargeable HA's seems to be fokus? It can give people, with long days, some serious problems! With some 16 to 18 hours up time, i fear the RT's can't stand the demand...
Hey oz4acl, I agree and think its an error too personally. Rechargeable isnt right for everyone. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, Matthew
Come on Phonak time to move to Bluetooth 5 and give us aptX. How can a device be marketed as advanced when its using an 8 year old Bluetooth standard that has lower range, increased power consumption and higher latency than its modern replacement?
I can explain why they use a somewhat older standard it's because classic provides better streaming quality vs say the newer Bluetooth low energy and I can attest to that music sounds better all the same

I had the paradise for awile. I had problems with massive volume loss at the begiining of each streaming start, after 30 sec volume return to normal. Does the new version fixed that problem?
Thank you, Hearing Tracker. The print was so small in the Phonak user manual I couldn't read it. These are extremely expensive hearing aids. Why couldn't the company provide an adequate user manual, particularly for those getting along in their years and wearing glasses? The company website did not provide instructions on cleaning their hearing aids; I had to go to RUclips for help. The company's plastic tools used for cleaning their hearing aids are cheaply made. And if something goes wrong with the Phonak hearing aids or they need to be replaced, the company charges $300 to replace or repair the item. This company is about price gouging and is not at all interested in their customers. Not a good company!
these seem underwhelming as usual. Phonak is usually behind on tech. Beta test things on Unitron first sometimes, as not to defame Phonak brand incase it doesnt work out. Signia AX still seems like the current best, sound quality available.

It sounds like the speech sensor is another iteration of the motion sensor? Except, the client doesn’t need to be walking in order for the speech sensor to kick into effect to widen the beamformer? Correct me if im wrong
Hey Jay, this tech will also have the motion sensor feeding information about the movement of the user too! Thanks for watching, Matthew
@@HearingTracker Oh great so they get the best of both worlds. Cheers
why is my Phonak Lumity Hearing Aids stop working making me blow out the ear mold that procedure in not long lasting
I was so sure they would announce a rechargeable Virto paradise. Do you know when that is coming?
Hey V, no news on this so far. Thanks for watching, Matthew
Great more Phonaks stuffs maybe 🤔 next time Phonaks Audeo can balance my checkbook and getting my another new hearing Aides for FREE 🆓 ‼️ Maybe 🤔 . I'm still waiting for my new waterproof Audio Life hearing Aides this coming week . I already have been watching videos and waiting for new hearing Aides since I first " HEARD," of Phonaks Audeo Life Waterproof hearing Aides last year fall ? . It Soo much smaller than my old Phonaks Audeo Milo Plus hearing Aides .
Hey Rich! That's great new I hope you enjoy your new hearing aids. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, Matthew
Hi - I just had mine fitted Lumity Audeo 90 - really happy with them apart from picking up a feedback/whistling noise when in confind areas , anybody any idea on a fix? Thanks MIke
Hi Mike, that all depends on the coupling to your ear and the feedback settings. Worth a chat with your audiologist. Thanks for watching, Matthew
@@HearingTracker Thanks Mathew - I am brand new to hearing technology - I think I need to go back to my audiologist - I must say your videos have made my transition into this chapter of my life easier than anticipated - thanks again Mike
@@mikeperry3542If the audiologist insist on Phonak, find another audiologist.
Hey Rushevents, yes, rechargeable isn't for everyone! Thanks for watching, Matthew
Too bad no battery version. Rechargeables seem to be more problematic.
Hey Duffy, I agree choice would be better as there are pros and cons to both! Thanks for watching, Matthew
Hey Be Lo, AGREED! Thanks for watching, Matthew
I can explain why they use a somewhat older standard it's because classic provides better streaming quality vs say the newer Bluetooth low energy and I can attest to that music sounds better all the same
@@meric12131415 aptX and Bluetooth LE are completely different. The lack of aptX has nothing to with BT LE.
Phonak = great hearing aids, but their newest app for my P90s appears to have been developed by an 8 year old.
Hey Jim, this made me laugh out loud! Thanks for watching, Matthew
I hate my Phonaks, I want my GN Resound back, but my audiologist can't help me with that.
Um Jim you do know it's all the same app for all hearing aids right?
@@meric12131415 wrong, this is not true at all
Reading about this. which was posted 4 months ago. do you have any new research or findings with all your patients in the last 4 months since. putting up the original new info on phonak Lumity???? Its just hearing aides are so. expensive and not sure can justify. upgrading current. phonak. only. 2.5 years old, to the new Lumity for the cost difference.
Hey Dot. Good question and theres too much info for me to write on here. If you're wearing Paradise however, I would stick with the.m for now. This was also a launch video so check out my full review here ruclips.net/video/dawqrvFf21s/видео.html
Thanks for watching, Matthew
I had the paradise for awile. I had problems with massive volume loss at the begiining of each streaming start, after 30 sec volume return to normal. Does the new version fixed that problem?
Hey Redcrusador, as far as I'm aware that's resolved now. Thanks for watching, Matthew
Is it used for sever to profound hearing loses?
Hey Biplap, Yes, with a UP receiver. Thanks for watching, Matthew
Why focus on the 20 percent of speech coming from behind? I personally am not interested in hearing anything behind me in a noisy restaurant, etc.
Hey Klaas, that's a good question and we'll see the feedback that people give when they start wearing them. Thanks for watching, Matthew
More advertising hype, the probably won't live up to their claims sa per my experiences.
Hi Greg, time will tell when people start wearing them and the feedback rolls in. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, Matthew
these seem underwhelming as usual. Phonak is usually behind on tech. Beta test things on Unitron first sometimes, as not to defame Phonak brand incase it doesnt work out.
Signia AX still seems like the current best, sound quality available.
Hi Michael, time will tell when people start wearing them and the feedback rolls in. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, Matthew
@@HearingTracker yes, and no problem. i just order 2 pairs of demos, should have them in a few days. interested to test them my self against a few others. just also ordered New Resound Omina demos as well
Wow, this came up out of nowhere for me. I just got Signia 7AX and can trade for the Lumity for $1,300 extra. Is it worth it I wonder?
Hey Greg! ...and for the rest of us too! I've only fitted a handful so far so can't feedback until I'e heard back from my patients. Full review coming when I have some feedback. Thanks for watching, Matthew
