    I lived in Young (known as lambing flats at the time of the bushrangers) for 5 years and I visited the Weddin Mountains in Grenfall where the Ben Hall Gang hung out. I went right into the history of Ben Hall and how he became a bush ranger. We use to drive past Johnny Gilbert’s grave many times heading to Sydney. I always wanted to visit Ben Halls grave in Parks but I never got around to it. Thankyou for this video

      Johnny Gilbert ,s grave is on the way to my sisters place she lives in the snowy mountains . I wil go to Parkes one day and see Ben Hall such a fascinating story

    We were stoked when we found Johnny Gilbert’s Grave about 4 years ago. Driving out to Griffith for work and stumbled upon the sign. Obviously stopped to have a look and take photos. Really interesting stories these bushrangers had. Great video Julia 🖤🗝️✨

      Thanks Theresa , we actually were checking out a cemetery in Galong and heard about it as we were staying in Binalong , it's unreal.standing there and knowing your standing to a real live bushranger xx thanks so much for watching

    very good info about this particular bushranger Johnny Gilbert , ah John Bright shot him in 1865 seems like years ago yes he had great attributes also like his nickname Flash nice capture of the headstone and his grave site amazing how the local police station is still used today its fascinating to watch these documentaries very enjoyable best wishes and many thanks for sharing new friend saw you in Secret Blackburn you will be seeing more of me 😀

      yes , Johnny came over with his Dad for the gold rush hoping to strike it rich , and then became involved in crime

      your absolutely correct , I know other bushrangers have similar graves , Ned Kelly is with his parents without his head , that went missing after he was hung

    Did Australia have a "wild west" like the United States? I did not know that. A nasty one from Canada too? Land of my birth.

      Hi Janet , yes Australia had thier fair share of outlaws in the pioneer days very much like the United States , Ned Kelly is our most famous one but didn't get a chance to do his story when I was in Melbourne , I actually thought Johnny looked cute lol , my daughter in law comes from Ontario Canada , thanks so much for watching .

      @@cemeteriesdownunder9247 Hi Julia, I was born in Deep River, Ontario up the Ottowa River near the Hudson Bay. Five miles south was Chalk River, the first site of a nuclear power plant in Canada. My Dad worked there. My Mum's whole family is from Miramichi, New Brunswick in north-eastern Canada.
