It means so much to people in wheelchairs and with mobility issues for sidewalks and crossings to be kept clear. Impassable areas often prevent them from getting to stores or accessing public transportation and severely limits them from participating in every day life. Thank you ❤

Agreed, but why are we paying council taxes? Because lazy contractors are getting paid to do it, and they don't and the council don't hold them to account.

It is the council's concern, it's a public walkway and they don't give a fly f... about it, that is what council tax is paid for. Thank you for taking it upon yourself to maintain and clear up your area. Great videos and keep up the great work.

Thank you for cleaning the ADA curb ramps. The inserts in the pavement are called Truncated Domes. It is to let the blind and visually impaired they are close to the street and to stop. Those areas are supposed to be kept clear for those using wheelchairs, walkers, canes, seeing eye dogs. Also thanks for cleaning the drop inlet. That would cause water to back up and pond on the road. It doesn’t take much water for tires to hydroplane and not be able to steer or brake. Again, thank you.

I genuinely had no idea what the little lumps were, and was thinking while shovelling, I wonder why they're like this, but you've just explained, and it makes perfect sense, and quite obvious now. Hi Nick, well done. I do this kind of job on occasion (not professionally) and I would like to share this: I put red cones for the pedestrians, I wear a hi-viz shirt, eye protection (when using the trimmer especially), and ear protection. I try to orient the trimmer in a way that the risk of throwing a pebble into a window or parked cars is minimized.
A pair of protective eye glasses last me a year, because of the many scratches from little stones and what not when using the trimmer (garded).
But you are the pro here, so the only thing I can say is 'take care mate'. Cheers :)

I do a quick sharpening before putting it away, it cleans the blade and makes it ready for its next use. You are much tougher than me. Trimming in shorts, all those little gravel pieces, they ping around everywhere and they hurt on bare skin. ❤

Hey Patricia, thanks for the great tips. I used to work in construction many moons ago, and I remember the groundsmen used to sharpen their shovels, so yes, great tip. I did indeed feel the stones pinging against my legs, but I find it less uncomfortable than having really hot legs that are covered up, the lesser of two evils, so to speak. I run very hot when doing anything physical, it's why cold winters don't bother me like it does a lot of guys, so struggle when i'm covered up, specifically my legs, head and hands - strange combination I know 🙃

You obviously don't understand how council landscaping works. Councils contract most work like landscaping to private companies like Serco, SUEZ, etc. They cost more money than hiring people to do it themselves. Councils have limited budgets for landscaping. My Dad is part of a specialist landscaping team which was cut from 6 employees to just 2 for a major city. The government has been cutting budgets for these for decades. So when people report issues they take a long time to get through all the reports and the contractors don't always do the job when requested. My dad says things used to be so much better.
Councils weren't even allowed to run their own bus services when private companies like Arriva refused to take the contracts for vital but quiet routes. I think the law has changed on that, I'm not sure.

What a star this man is 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 I can't believe how bad all those edges were. So clogged up. I imagine the rain water can't travel the correct way away to the drainage. Could see cars aquaplaning if water can't escape quickly. No wonder we have flooding if the road grates aren't cleaned and maintained by council

First of all, case in point from my comment yesterday about you doing the ladys yard for her since she was not in good health! Now, a little background in my mental health, I have bipolar 1 disorder, and wow are you triggering my "lets clean everything" mode, (mania is the culprit on my feelings right now lol)! I love it! That's a great trigger! and BTW most of us bipolars have 0 filter, so what come out of our mouths is 100% truth! Sometimes a little TOO honest at times lol. Anyhow, another job smashed out of the field! AWESOME JOB again!!😁😁
