***The BMW 5 Series is an executive car manufactured by BMW since 1972. It is the successor to the New Class Sedans and is currently in its seventh generation.
Initially, the 5 Series was only available in a sedan body style. The wagon/estate body style (called "Touring") was added in 1991 and the 5-door fastback (called "Gran Turismo") was produced from 2009 to 2017.
The first generation of 5 Series was powered by naturally aspirated four-cylinder and six-cylinder petrol engines. E220 is quicker, forget about the speeedos they tell. Show me the dragrace and you will see. Actually CarWow did one, Mercedes e220d won.

Lol I just looked for it. The Carwow video was between a non mhev 520d and an e220d and it was not a big difference.
With the extra 11hp from the mhev the 520d will beat the E class by more than the E class beat the Merc without :D

Benz reaches 0-100 in 7.8 seconds. Bmw reaches in 6.6 seconds. In a drag race BMW slams.

On 1:17 at 155 kmh a window seems to open in BMW. I think time to 200 kmh would be slightly better with all windows closed.

There is something wrong with the timer on the 520d, its definitely not that fast. In almost all international tests, its slightly slower than the E220d. Mercedes does normally about 7.3sec and BMW about 7.5sec to 100km/h.
