I just love Rabeas playing style and skill.
One of my personal top 3 guitar players that i've discovered on RUclips.
ya hes beast, Rob is awesome to
Check out VAALVLA he's amazing! One of my favorites.
Rob's good but Rabea is way better I think.
same here. Bea + Rob Scallon + Jared Dines + Ryan Bruce would be an awesome concert,
Ffs man these guys sound nothing like dorje, they can't even play like them this sucks, andertons faith is lost
Erm...
It's a joke man hahah
epiphonemarshall Clearly sounds more like that Misha guy
epiphonemarshall xD HAH!
rUcerial 9 It's a joke! But I won't judge you.
You guys should create what your rigs would be like if you didn't have Chapman guitars or any kind of signature amps or anything. That'd be cool to see what you'd choose.
True
+Lauren's Music Box I guess Rob would go with a PRS and a Rockerverb. Rabea loves his Marshall JVM and he would probably go with that amp. For a guitar it could be a Washburn n4, but I maybe wrong and it would be really interesting...
+Lauren's Music Box Rob would go back to ESP and Bea back to Washburn
how to sound like Dorje for under 1,000 pounds, simple - just take the band hostage
Or just book them for a gig :D
But, Cam, taking them hostage is more metal.
Adam Winkelmann true true :D
Mr.Kitty Cat You know we're making jokes, right? I apologize for not considering everything Serious Business.
CamRebires Wow, the "who r u 2 say dat" argument that little kids use as an excuse to say all the swear words they want followed by repeating my insult, you are extremely original and mature, you -dumbass- complete genius
Bea is my favorite guitarist from the andertons crew.
Any chance you guys could do an updated version?
AidsdotJPG yep, this
Its probably a shocking thing to say on Rob's channel but I think that Rabea is a much better guitar player :o
we all know that but its not a Competition :)
Rob is aware of that too and u can tell he embraces it and admires Rabea for it i think thats why they do so good together
I don't think that's necessarily true, but I can see why that would be your opinion. I do like the feel of Rabea's playing better, but that's just my personal opinion.
ive been watching rob so long ive never even payed much attention to bea well hmm
I like Rob's playing but he overdoes the squeals and his playing lacks structure imo. Rabea just has a better feel of what goes where in a song and phrases better
Goddamn, Rabea knows how to lay down a rhythm track like a fucking beast. His technique perfectly showcases what kind of stuff I wanna play... Cheers!
Bea is a killer guitarist, blending so many styles or rock, metal, blues, and funk into one seamless riff, very cool. Very Mike Einziger-y imo.
Nickelback for under a tenner pls
Tissue-box and a marker pen.
DanTheMan that actually made me laugh good job
I actually forgot why I said that
Who cares lol it was funny
YTUser All you need to do is to go to your nearest zoo or farm and slaughter every single animal, and their cries and screams you can mix together in Audacity (Free Software) and you can make Nickelback covers all day long!
Rabea at 11:55 … wowowoooooow, AMAZING! That riff rocks!
TL;DW: Chapman Guitars ; Victory Silverback.
Rabea does this weird chewing thing when he's playing, it's great.
I do that too. it's just concentrating and feeling the music. If you play great enough, people will forgive your funny faces. xD
kkkkkcocaine
rob stopped feeding him as punishment for progressing as an artist
I find it hilarious that we are all sitting here commenting on a video that's 3 years old. :)
What's funny about that?
Agreed!
How about 5 years
Ummm, 7 years.
Haha lol
Cap Rabea and you are awesome nice to see you guys together this vid :) even though its 7 years later
You guys always make me smile - great technique and your enthusiasm is infectious.
god that tone is so thick! that's probably one of the better guitar tones i've heard; it's completely unique.
I like what they do for us common mortals who don't earn that much money in order to purchase the cutting edge state of the art equipment. Cool guys. Greetings from Germany.
rabea fucking shredds!
piss off you metal head freak
Jordan Bednall i love Rabea hes fucking amazing at guitar and any video rob puts out with him in the thumbnail or title is a must watch
i just want to hug bea
bea is a beast of a man, look at those hands... they make the guitar look like a ukelele
Bear's chord work is just dreamy
The whole video I was thinking "FUCKING PLAY CATALYST!"
all i need is good sound system, and the rest of it i get from a computer+software(guitar rig, amplitube, etc etc...).
the sounds are absolutely awesome awesomely wonderful.
and with the right pedals/controllers you can also get it on the road.
there are 2 types of technical schools, one is old school, the other is new tech.
for home studio i choose new tech hands down, for its amazing versatility and cost effective value.
Wow, these guys are the best Dorje cover band I have ever seen!
i've had a 40xl for about 6 months and i didnt know thats how the dyna amp worked...cheers man
that black ml2's a freakin killer!!
Awesome, both are incredible guitarists. Both have different but complimentary styles. I love that dark heavy drop tuning thing Rob does . I want one of these Chapman guitars. Very watchable too .
i actually think they are some of the best videos for volume management
You're welcome :)
Also, if you watch youtube videos on a mobile device, those versions are always the last to process. It goes from 240p to 1080p (if available) and then mobile versions.
This is by no means meant to be a negative comment but it is amazing just how much more advanced both of your playing is now. I love watching through the years of any of Rob / Beas videos to just see how far they have come. Makes my years of playing look like farting on a snare drum... :D
yes, it delivers less punch and low-end but sound more natural and has a fuller sound. It also spreads the sound more even in the room. For me: Open Back > Closed Back-
i love these videos man. please, never stop making them. a piece of me will go, if these videos go.
Dankeschön
Robs faces when Bea plays are very entertaining :) GO DORJE!!!
Hmmm... the beginning of this video and the info in it could be pretty useful for anyone participating in the Mooer pedal giveaway :P
Ikr
Which giveaway is that?
we need an updated one of this
Roland cube 40/80 xl. Best bedroom / gig amp ever!! I had a gig at my school(pretty big) and I only had to put the volume at 11 o'clock. btw I played with a drummer and bassist. Conclusion. Best amp ever and not that expensive. (sorry for my bad english I'm dutch)
Chapman ML-2 (guitar)
Orange Tiny Terror (top)
Orange PPC-102 (box)
Roland Cube XL40 (modelling amp)
Radial Engineering Tonebone Bigshot ABY (switches between amps or accesses them both simultaneously)
absolutely love the videos, been a huge fan forever. But if you guys could maybe do a bass gear video every once in a while that would be great. I know you guys would make a lot of bass players happy!(: peace!
Dorje's music reminds me of the bridge part from Panama by Van Halen.
Can't get enough of these guys.
Wow, I was never aware Written was in the works for so long. Great song too.
And White Dove!
that tiny terror sounds NASTY!!!! love DAT TONE
You're an excellent player, I love your videos by far the best demos on youtube. Keep up the good work.
@gorlac probably more like 7.5. Ha ha - if only!!
please make an updated verison. i absolutely loved it
The Micro cube is honestly the most interesting amp I've played. That little thing is fucking ferocious.
Rabea has an incredible picking style
you guys are great thanks for rockin me everyday after work
Is it me or are Rob and Bear extremely incredible guitarists?!
in a small room it will give more volume for the sound out of the back bounces off the walls, on a outdoor stage it will sound thinner i think
Rob, met you and Ben in Newcastle in Feb, sorry couldn't make that night for ur gig in Cluny, been looking at RUclips stuff, obviously I've missed the opportunity to hear a great band with a nice sound! Hope all is going well for you guys, have fun always. Regards, Jonny (the guy who gave you a lift to your hotel then got a clip off the wife for picking up random people! My son was loving your guitar btw!) haha take care!
Watching Rabea when Rob started playing I couldn' help but think wouldn't it be great if Chapman guitars could produce a Rabea Massad bobble head to go with their ML-1 Bea :D Sorry if that horrible thought bothers you Rabea. :)
If it had the Rabea fro that bobbed each time...
Bea's sound at the start is so tight... awesome
I have an Orange Tiny Terror. My gosh those little things sound amazing. I highly recommend them.
Fun and entertaining show. Thank you guys for sharing.
the ml2 sounds amazing playing rock but ive never heard it play blues, i think it would surely sound amazing too but it would be good to hear.
They need to re new this vid with the new sound like format with Rob and Bea doing guitar and either Dave or Matt on bass. Would love to see a new Chapman ML-V make and appearance in that video :-)
I like Rob's Grimace of Joy face when a pinch harmonic is played. :D
Wow!
amazing shipping price to USA for Your Axes Rob.
Going to run one of these past Congress,
when I take Her to Lunch.
Killer tone! Love your riffs.. MY FACE NEARLY CAME OFF
for kyuss and wizard this is what works for me: orange tiny terror, ppc112, humbucker guitar, big muff
for angous young sound a fulltone ocd would be useful because orange crunch sound different from that marshall crunch tone young uses.
nice seeing Rabea play for most of the video for a change
That's pretty easy. The main part of Daves tone is his Warwick, but anything with 'buckers will get you pretty close, and then his Tech 21 Landmark head, which is essentially just a Sansamp Bass Driver DI with a power amp.
Cube just sounds thin and fizzy being played right after the orange. I think the cube shines with more of the lower gain sounds, and with the models such as tweed and brit.
the back of the speaker is what creates most bass, so by letting that escape you hear more of it. Containing it within the cab obviously muffles it
Our RiffMonkey uses a Roland 40XL for home recording & jams with chums & swears by it. Then he unleashed the 5150 for his live sound :D
Roland 40XL is an awesome little chap & bloody loud to boot :)
i have a 20x, absolutely great in my eyes, very well priced.
do a sequel where you teach us how to sound like Architects.
Or Northlane :3
buy an 8 string, tube screamer > dual rec (or model on axe-fx) > oversized cab > post eq the fuck out of it in axe-edit
djent shit is the easiest of all the sounds to get
Nope....
Axe fx is cheating :P
Tbh, picking technicque makes a shit ton of difference
Lol it isn't cheating. The formula is really just high gain, mid heavy amp + tube screamer + v30s. And then obviously an aggressive picking style and heavy up-strokes. Don't forget a metric shit ton of post-EQ because of how much gain is used.
BY THE LIGHT OF THE MOON
Oh... I though you were a troll ahaha soz man :P
Yea, also, you need BKP and Drop Q tuning
Rabea reminds me of a your Leslie West from his early days. I used to watch them rehearse, it was way cool back then.
They already have one of those out. Very simple though: Buy a '57 Reissue Les Paul, a vintage 60's or 70's Marshall amplifier and go for it.
That's Rob and Bea's band, check out the video for 'Aeromancy', they are on tour in Feb
rabea bettencourt! i hear nuno bettencourt when you play but in your style sounds refreshing :D
Thanks for answer.
I'm looking forward to hear them finished ;)
pantera for under £1000
high output pickups > boosted mid 6 band pedal > scooped the fuck mids on amp > 4x12 v30s. Better have a good sound guy too.
i kinda do that already , thanks tho
Joseph Madden
and lots of beer. lots.
NRG _one and only_ jager
Cam Learmonth Nope, Crown Royal. :)
How nice would it be to see the Subway Bandit back to one of your videos xD, Great review BTW \m/,
SO HAPPY THEY DID THIS!
Rabeas confused headbanging is beautiful :D
HI did you notice that the 8 symbol on the chapman guitar . looks like the mathematical symbol for infinity (an 8 on its side). When looking at it from above . Take it to infinity and beyond . love the tone . Mark
Rob you should definitely have a signature headband, I'd buy it. lol
first of all, i love your work ive been watching your videos for years and i think you guys should do a video on the gibson sg diablo (tremolo and premium) and the les paul axcess models nobody has a good demo of them on the internet as well you you should a video of you capt.Lee and bea playing your signature prototypes alltogether
Bea's phrasing is so awesome! :D
this is a similar concept to the gear i use... i use a valve amp ,with a creamy saturated tone, in line with a solid state Marshall... yet to record the set up though... sounds killer
Bea's right hand technique is immaculate.
2:43 love the riff!! love it!
I came for the Dorje, I stayed because of the awesome Anderton's intro montage :D
Rabea is such a beast when playing guitar
Meant in a good way :)
I have always loved the tiny terror! There isn't a sound it makes that is bad.
NAMM's motto is “Believe in Music.” There's a PDF download of all the rules and regulations surrounding conduct and participation which you may download from the NAMM.org website. Read it thoroughly and report back to us next week what you found. Have a wonderful day and play as much music as you're allowed in Brazil
esp LTD with passive pups, 5 watt marshall re-issue head and a small, inexpensive OD pedal and hall of fame reverb.
Great video as always. Although like in most of your videos there is constant digital clipping. I don't know whether it has occurred during the recording, at the mixing/mastering, in the video editing software when putting the audio to video or just because of youtube being not so good at compressing the audio FILE to a smaller size. I am watching in the highest quality, using a good quality headphone amp and a good set of headphones. BTW I'm not trying to troll, I'm a huge fan.
Can't wait to see u guys live!!
Rob's face at every harmonic X)
I think this would be cool to be redone, on the Andertons Channel on Sound Like.
its really funnny that u used like 10 different heads haha.
i mean its cool but i guess i keep myself simple. Blackstar id 100TVp, one sight bright and heavy distorted, the other dark and less distorted :D
Using open back is also called bass stop in hifi equipment, so there is less bass with open back
Four years on, Rabea has shrunk 30% and his Afro has grown 50%... and he's even more of a riff monster than ever before.
This is just amazing for studying ♥
The first rule of Infinity Club is: tell as many people as you can about it...
Also, to sound like Dorje...just buy Chapman guitars (and sell your soul to the Devil to get Rabea & Rob's playing skills)! :D
It's not about questioning their recording capabilities, I understand that the mic is close to the cab and with the speech it's relatively further away, but it is kinda annoying albeit easy to counter.
