These two Germans where actually Referees themselves. They realized in there work as judges, that having a unlimited deck size was stupid. To prove their Point, they did that and in the end succeeded with it. And they were Not disqulified. They were asked to leave, because you literally could Not send them out, due to doing nothing wrong. Fun times back then.
Isn't being asked to leave basically the same as being DQ ?
Wasn't it called Mission Impossible? Because the purpose was to constantly be shuffling and from the size, it would use the time limit
Was literally gonna make the same kind of comment. Malicious compliance at its best. Plus the pics are just so memeable

Yet Magic the Gathering never had this problem.
"How many cards are in your deck?"
"Yes."
too bad there isn't a Yugioh equivalent to Magic the Gatherings card Battle of Wits; For those that don't know, Battle of Wits says During your upkeep (Standy phase in Yugioh) if you have 200 or more cards in your deck, you win the game

Pretty sure they would not have run it as it would dramatically decrease the size of the deck with minimum shuffling
You could just legit get a lump chunk and slap it on the table until you are matched with your opponent 😂😂
I love that they dressed up nice because they knew they'll become legends
So that's why I can't run a protag anime accurate deck
Jaden from GX that extra deck x.x
@johngancarcik5682 someone calculated the amount of cards and he canonically has about 40 cards in the extra deck 😂
I remember this. I used to believe that the deck size limit was how many cards you could fit into a deck carry case. Well, at this point in time, that meant my main deck had about 72 cards in it, no side/fusion cards. Had to completely dismantle it when I saw the 40-60 card limit in a later released structure deck.
Fun fact, the first card limit was 80 cards, and that was changed to 60 around the synchro era
@@Kiferno Almost nobody remembers the 80 card limit.
Ah yes, the Delinquent Duo in action 😂
Isn't that what the card was based on or is that just rumor
Fun fact this was actually done on purpose by two judges who were not on call that day and did it to make Konami to see how ridiculous how anything above 60 is crazy
Looks Like Judais Extra Deck
German Nationals 2008, I was there.
Mischen impossible 😂😂
I really wish I could have seen this tournament.
Draws opening 5 …. Proceeds to Activates bonfire….
The people were also judges who wanted a deck size limit so they specifically entered with it tho get DQed and they knew they would get DQed just to change the rule
These guys better have shown up in the anime
In some of the first Games the Limit was 80 so i thought that was at start the Limit.
Till i heard about this Story but that was long before this short.
Most people had a limit because of consistency of their decks.
Ie less cards more consistent. More cards less consistent
The blues bros it was quite a sight
No discualify they asked gently if they can leave the tournament and they acepted
Yep.
Fir the longest timw i always thought the max card limit was 80 because that was it for a Nintendo DS Yu-Gi-Oh game i had, which i actually think would nake a way better catd limit, and make sense to me since 40 is the minimum amount and 80 is double 40
Ok I play card shuffler. It will take me 20 minutes to shuffle it
Funfact: in "Magic the Gathering" exists a card where having more than 200 Cards in the Deck is win-condition. The cards name is known as "Battle of the wits" ^^"
Hero players every time new hero support comes out
Right
Exactly why you don't let people do anything without restrictions
Not all heroes wear capes
There is nothing predictable if you play against this deck
My Mans put every Card in existing into his Deck
Mill decks didn't have a chance against these bros
they were asked to drop the tournament because it's causing major delays. I know because I was there.
First off: when the yugioh TCG was first release in the USA, the deck limit allow was 40 to 60 as stated in the rulebook. Second off: the deck limit should have been enforced from the begining of the first official tournament.
They weren't DQ'd because the deck was 100% legal and they weren't breaking any rules. The judge just politely asked them to leave and they obliged.
I remember in Yu-Gi-Oh Tag force you can have like 80 cards for your deck for the video game. LOL
yo what archetype are you playing?
yee
I dont know if theres some mandela effect going on but i remember that there was a time when a deck (main deck) could be 80 cards
Before these guys did this stunt there was no max size. However players had a pseudo limit of 80 because anymore and the deck was so inconsistent that they couldn't play.
I can't believe judges have to shuffle decks so we don't know what card is coming nor can we tell what our opening hand is gonna be like
this was in 2008. so to get a legal deck of that size they had to play almost every card that existed up to this point in time?
I thought 80 cards was the limit. But 40 cards is ALWAYS better than 60 or 80.
I know those legends they are the owner of the ygo local in hanover
Imagine using Sangan.
Funny enough i know both of them 😂
We gonna ignore the Pegasus character card?
Not the first time a character has appeared in the card image. Lord of red which is a red eyes support monster is literally just joey wearing a suit of armor modeled after red eyes black dragon.
Honestly the most german thing you can do
But the real question is that once they made the maximum 80 cards why did they lower it again to now 60 cards why not just keep it at 80 cards also why did they lower the extra deck to 15 from 20 cards
The players. They saw that most people who ran at the max lost significantly more often and wanted to make it a little bit fairer
For the vagrants out there:
When you draw a card from your deck, you draw from the top of the pile.
Theres not a rule that its one pile

If only there was some really funny payoff card for this, MTG has a card that lets you win the game if you have 200+ cards in your deck (since there’s no upper limit), though it does have the ruling that you must still be able to shuffle in a timely manner
How could you play that card given there's a limit of 100. And this has been a rule since before I was born. And I'm 24 if you wanna check the math
@@stock_movie1875That’s an awful lot of confidence for an absolutely wrong answer, the *minimum* deck size in MTG (Commander specifically) is 100 cards, but there has never been any upper limit on a deck’s size
@@GreatFernicus i live with 2 champions. Whom have a copy of the rulebook from EVERY time they've changed the rules
@@stock_movie1875 “From the Comprehensive Rules (April 12, 2024-Outlaws of Thunder Junction)

They ruined my 100 card deck

If you deck him out you are yami
What the point of shift that deck just put draw pile to top of the deck
Rules basically
Because there are search cards which they could've abused and since if you search your deck you have to shuffle the deck so you can't cheat by knowing what cards you're going to draw each turn (obviously you know what you could POSSIBLY draw. It's your deck).
@stock_movie1875 but once it shuft one time I'm sure it will always be random?? That will be more random than 40 card deck
Magic players be like
yeah thanks to these idiots i cant have 80 cards like joey the passion
Never should have been allowed to even enter to start with because it's clear from the start dude was just trying to troll and not actually compete. Should've just taken the MTG approach that the limit is how many you can shuffle efficiently with your own two hands. No legitimate reason for this to have ever happened. If people were getting smoked by people with more than 60 cards in a deck that's their own fault.
Honestly they would never have won anyway. Because Yu-Gi-Oh unfortunately favors smaller decks.
And mtg has a limit of 100 cards per deck and that's been a rule longer than I've been alive which is 24 years btw.
@@stock_movie1875 Even if they wouldn't have won they still never should've been allowed to enter because it was obvious what they're doing.
For the MTG example I gave, the only format that has a strict upper limit currently is Commander which is the 100 cards. Otherwise it's however many cards you can efficiently shuffle with your own two hands. Aside from Commander there is no other format with a hard upper limit unless something new has come out.
@@captainbladej52gaming the commander format is the only one used in tournaments. But again that would still be too many because the game without meaning to favors the smaller decks
@@stock_movie1875 You are objectively wrong in that assertion as there are standard format tournaments as well for MTG. While commander is arguably the favorite format of alot of folks, it's not the only one. I will agree with you on one thing, yugioh does favor smaller decks. However I still stand by my statement that these guys never should have been allowed to enter. If a person can pull off a deck and make it work with 100 cards in a yugioh deck then by all means they should've been allowed to do so. If you want to disagree then cool, we'll agree to disagree on that. I get what these guys were trying to do but they went about it the absolute wrong way.
@@captainbladej52gaming ALL TCG favor smaller decks. It's an unintentional bias
Damn those guys ruined the game! I usually make 60 card decks
