*Backstory*
So, this is actually the 2nd version of this encounter. The first had a completely different story with different drawings, different audio... it was a completely different video. It didn't go down too well with the supporters who get early access. As a result, me and Cim made a new tale that address some of the problems with the original. The original video will be archived for now but I will post it for this year's April Fools video so you can all see what it was at first.

Personally, I better liked the other version this same SCP 'Vs.' Tale premise: *[SCP-035 - Possessive Mask]* vs. *[SCP-999 - The Tickle Monster].*
In the other version, the Mask _purposefully_ latched itself onto Tickles because the Mask believed that Tickles' high damage resilience and low-level regeneration-factor would make it a particularly good physical host, and the Mask could easily dominate Tickles; as opposed to the Mask's failure with possessing *[SCP-582 - Hard to Destroy Reptile].*
While the Mask's plan (Tickles possession) was initially successful, the situation soon turned against the Mask, as Tickles' euphoric "joy aura" began to override and overwrite the Mask's malevolent nature. Even more entertaining, SCP Containment Personnel had to pry the Mask off of Tickles, who would not let the Mask go easily, with the Mask ironically pleading to be removed from Tickles. *;)*

The fact that 035 managed to make 999 hate it is like... 999 is one of the purest creatures on earth, not even 682's genocidal tendencies angered it
Atleast 682 doesn't force his will, he just kills you
That's the thing SCP 682 simply wants the exctintion of all humanity, 035 wants to control and torment humanity.
682 isn’t 100% evil. There is still a crum of goodness in him as shown by his passive behaviour towards SCP-053

Depending on the canon, 682 has a more of a disadvantage with him being 999's brother. Love for family can be pretty strong. 999 just amps it up and makes it spread.
I love how they were able to instantly calm 999's hatred for 035 by throwing candies at it.
They didn't calm it, they distracted it.

The wrath of a gentle and pure soul is one of the most frightening things anyone or anything will experience. The fact that SCP-999 felt genuine hatred for this mask, and rightfully so, made me a bit terrified as well.
SCP-999 had a genuine cause to destroy. The mask is a threat to everything that it could fit on including 682. Even though 682 *hates* 999, 999 still loves the hateful reptile.

This is actually the second time 999 ever felt hate. Look up what happened when a piece of 999 went through the 914. 999 actually killed the foul tempered thing that was created from that machine.
Yeah, I’m imagining a giant flood of Scarlet colored 999 slowly filling 035’s containment chamber with fear displayed on the mask being how 035 meets its end
Comparing it to 682, you'd realized that, despite the lizard inevitably more dangerous, I think 999 perceived the reptile as someone that just need a friend, and thus attempting to play with 682, however annoyed the reptile towards it. But just like that one friend that kept pushing people away, the one guy whose persistent about it will eventually warm the cold of heart. 035, however, is just evil. 999 perceived the mask as it was because the mask doesn't care, it intended to torture, manipulate, and control, making its victim suffer in agonizing pain. No one likes that kind of person, and for something so cruel, 999 has the right to be angry, much like anyone else.
Despite scp 682 being a blood thirsty monster that killed before and will kill again he is kind of an angsty teenager god in a way

035 parasitically latches onto a person and puts them in immense agony until they are braindead and/or their body is useless.
I mean 682 is not actually evil he has a distain and a compulsion to hate life. Whereas 035 is unquestionably evil. I feel 999 would likely feel very similar about 106 as 999 does about 035

It's genuinely horrifying to think that a kind and gentle soul like 999 would willingly kill something because it knows it can't be turned. That this anger comes out of kindness, because it knows that in order to bring more happiness. It needs to get rid of the thing that it can never "cure". So that others will be safe and happy from it.
The mask is infected with the pestilence, 999 is the only cure.
Look up what 999 did to a foul clone of itself created in the 914 test logs
Sometimes you need to do evil deeds in order to cause the most good.
We will never be able to achieve a perfect white world only one with a nice shade of light gray.

I mean, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Sure, SCP 999 could just destroy it. But what if that mindset stuck to SCP 999? What if they suddenly went "hmm. I should destroy this too. This will output the most amount of happiness!" by harnessing that emotion and utilizing it in a conquest to increase happiness? In his mind he could just go "destroy everything that is the root of unhappiness" and have his hatred be the catalyst that sets him off. Imagine SCP 999 on a mission to destroy unhappy individuals and SCPs with a "by any means necessary" mindset...
Knowing SCP-035's personality, I bet this encounter probably gave it a far deeper wound than it will ever care to admit. Which is at least some grim satisfaction, as it will stick with the mask for the rest of it's time existing. That, and likely a grudge towards 999, which may result in the mask trying their hand at revenge...only to have those attempts likely backfire when there isn't any SCP foundation personnel between it, and 999's righteous wrath.
035 is smart. He's acting smug because he knows the SCP foundation saved him from being destroyed, piece by piece, only moments before the act could take place. But he knows he is no match for a gelatinous being that counteracts his power. He knows that nobody he can control is capable of SCP 999's destruction. He would actively avoid SCP 999 when given the chance.

1:07 I love how in a lot of these stories, just breaking the key card scanner is enough to apparently have the door open immediately without any resistance. The designers must've known that the keycard reader would most likely be destroyed in a facility full of dangerous, large creatures, no? Lmao

999 wanting to destroy the mask made sense, considering its origins according to "New Job". The son of the Scarlet King sought to destroy what may have been one of it's fathers creations (IDK if 035 is linked to the Scarlet King, so that was a wild guess)
Well scp-035 is associated with the hanged king and the hanged king is associated with the scarlet king

I find it interesting that even though 999 was filled with hate, he channeled it into trying to do something good by destroying the mask.
Yes, something interesting about hate is it can be channeled to those who truly deserve such hatred be aimed directly at them, and let lose as you saw on the video scp-999 first took care of the d-class situation before turning its attention to scp-035 and wit the attention the growing hatred towards this vile being

@@1mol831 probably worried what would happen if the Mask was destroyed, many Anomalies can cause the end of the world by being destroyed which is why the Foundation tries to Contain and Study them and only tries to destroy/kill them if they prove to be bigger threats intact/alive like SCP-682 or SCP-096.

principles of the organisation to protect anomalies from other organisations and in some cases themselves,
being blinded by scientific curiosity/carring more about
results rather than the consequences said results may bring

Part of me wanted 999 to destroy the mask, but I also started to wonder what would happen if he actually did destroy something out of hate. What would that do to him or his mentality? Would those feelings fade away, or would they have become part of our Tickle Monster? It is probably best that we do not find out.
Considering what a malicious being 035 is, I bet he wouldn't be too bothered by it.
And also destroying SCPs is not always a good idea think about it for a sec

This adds a layer of depth to 999, alot better than the one where 035 tried to take over 999 but couldn't. Scp 999 may be "safe" but like most scps the foundation knows little to nothing about it.
If 035 caused 999 to experience hatred for the first time, I can only imagine its reaction once it meets its.. "dad", the scarlet king.

Fuck it, time to write an alternate ending.
"And so, as the men rushed into the testing chamber, a shatter of porcelain could be heard. There laid the mask, shattered in 2. It wasn't smiling, it wasn't frowning. Its expression...gone. And so was the acid, with the last bits leaving some corrosion on each half. 999 Had done something that so far it hadn't done in its entire existence: It took the life of something. It caused the loss of "life", if you could call it that, from 035. And even more surprising yet, there was not a hint of remorse in it. 035 deserved it after all, right? It never cared about others, it just always wanted people to help it for its own gain. It didn't deserve mercy.
A while later, Dr. Stanford was writing something. A report.
"After the experiment ended, I can now conclude that SCP-035 is inactive. Currently, I am unsure if placing the 2 mask pieces close to each other could cause SCP-035 to fix it self. As such, it would be advised to keep the 2 parts separated from each other until a decision can be made. Due to the uncertainty, I an also unsure if SCP-035 should be reclassified as a Maksur class anomaly or as a Neutralized class anomaly. I suggest that discussions and votes should be held as to what shall be done next.
As a final note, SCP-999 has suffered no changes to its behavior or body whatsoever."

The reveal of 999's sudden turn hatred of the mask and comments about it were written and voiced amazingly, this has got to be one of my favorites because of it!
Superbly orchestrated story. The way the embodiment of purity can feel hatred for something says so much. 035 is the embodiment of evil.

682 is a genocider. 106 is sadistic
035 is the devil
This just proves 999 is badass when needed. Him getting genuinely pissed is scarier than anything 035 could cook up.

I always thought that 999 would want to destroy 1048 but I can definitely understand 999 wanting to destroy 035.

There has been a video by SCP explained on this already, if you want an idea of what stuff could be you should watch SCP explained aswell, SCP illustrated is much higher quality but takes longer for that.

SCP Explained isn’t the best SCP channel to be honest. A lot of the scenarios they make up really butcher the abilities of certain SCP. For example the whole story about SCP against Homelander. Like if the SCP foundation wouldn’t lock him up within seconds.
This is very peculiar, especially for 999. We are indeed given the idea that despite the many horrors located within the walls of every foundation cell, 999 has always responded with unparalleled happiness and glee. And yet now, we see the once pure and untouched creature that is 999 finally feel hate towards something, perhaps having finally encountered something so profoundly malicious and loathsome that it didn't deserve peace. Hopefully, he will eventually mature into something that perhaps will be beyond humanity and all the detestable creatures that can be found in the SCP universe, or if not, at least find a way where everyone and everything can find bliss, for, in the end, happiness is all that matters.

The fact 999 was willing to absolutely shred 035 into pieces gives a small glimpse of its relation to the Scarlet King.
The fact that 035 made 999 feel anything but happy and warm when it's brother 682 or even The Old Man speaks volumes of the evil that The Mask has within it. Truly terrifying to think about. Good job on the story and artwork guys!

It's strange and kind of scary to think that even a kind creature like 999 can feel serious rage toward 035.
The idea of 999 have hatred for pure evil just makes sense for the idea of him being the last child of the Scarlet King.

Man that art stuff is gruesome! Also this one was quite good. 999 actually hating 035 is terrifying for a number of reasons.
Me seeing 999 feel hate for the probably the very first time just sends chills down my spine. The most purest happiest thing on the SCP Universe planet feeling hate all just because of the possessive mask just.. Makes my hair stick up.

I never thought 999 could even hate. I guess even the most mild being can hate someone that causes needless suffering and takes pleasure from it.
I'd like to imagine 999 just enters his room, destroys it, and 682 sees it and goes "what the fuck did I just see, this slimy concoction of disgusting happiness just killed another entity? I'm kind of proud"
I haven't seen this story about my happy little blob child. I love it! Definitely fits 999's character.
This is a unique encounter between two scps, plus we finally got to see what would happen if the tickle monster experienced hatred.
If they could only hear SCP-999's thoughts. Perhaps they would've let it destroy the mask. Though, who knows, perhaps the mask would've destroyed the poor creature. Maybe one day we'll know, but I pray that the universe survives afterward.

Unfortunately, this was bound to happen at some point.
Not even SCP 682 could make 999 hate. I genuinely think 999 could and WOULD destroy 035.
Of course, 682 just straight-up kills you. He doesn't destroy your mind, annihilate your will, and make you his slave.
035 causes brain death once you put it on

I want this to be an official addendum on 999s File, this would add so much to 999 as an SCP. A creature who only wants to make people happy and has no hatred, but is only enraged by this object.
Goes to show you 999 has a little of his father in him. The only difference, while the Scarlet King would do it for a sick sense of pleasure, 999 will only go to such lengths to protect or avenge others if it is warranted.
The only anger SCP-999 knows is righteous fury.

This literally made me cry, then the fast ending was just a neucense. i wish there was a longer story of a DClass being manipulated by 035 and 999 saves him. I love these kind of stories.

Both are beings of hatred 999 in the more relative sence as it is the son of the scarlet king, however it rejects this facts and instead wishes to spread joy,happiness and contempt. 035 on the other hand is hate in a more literal way, it seeks to control its hosts liquid "hate" flowing from its orifices as it uses its host body. 999 resists its hate so when it encounters something that wishes to control and cause pain, even one as jolly as it cannot ignore the suffering it causes. Scariest thing is, how does one fight back against a slime? Even if 035 did have a body, there's nothing it could do to prevent its destruction should it ever encounter 999 again. Best to look out during containment breaches

This is amazing it was worth waiting for this video,it’s surprising that 999 felt hatred and wanted to destroy 039.
I was thinking Scp-2264 in WDB and we could see the The Hanged King battle the flesh and the possible future to Alagadda.
Other idea was Chaos Insurgency have Scp-2408 and what to use it to become immune to WDB and I was thinking they should be armed with paraweaponry like Scp-030-DE(RTI),Order MEF-2839(Hunter Industries Adramalech rifles), and objects stolen during the Foundation Civil War(Bell Of Entropy,Staff of Hermes, Scp-3668)because I think they need more powerful weapon in battle and we get to see CI in action using paraweapons.
Scp-682 vs Scp-2761. I was think of a fight we’re they fight on even grounds one adapts and the other adapts by eating
Scp-2427-3 vs Scp-939. I already know it’s easy to contain Scp-2427-3 by feeding it one goat a day but what if they failed to feed it during a containment breach of Scp-939.
SCP-999. That slow, cold, focused rage... Not fast, wet, wild anger, but calculated EVICERATION.
noone noticed how the music of when day breaks played when scp 999 comforted the man, it was an eerie parallel to 001, maybe when day breaks is an alternative form of 999 where the final bride did bring in apocalypse

This is a beautiful illustration of how Joy and happiness powerfully contrast to the sadist and devilish evil minds of those who are insane.
The reason 999 never felt the same way towards 682 is because 682 felt anger towards everything, maybe not without a reason but at least something.
The mask on the other hand seemed to appear so pleased, filled with pride and forced as much pain as it could to the d class. He just wanted to see him suffer, imagine what 035 could do if he had similar capabilities as 682.
The idea of someone who adores the suffering of others is far more destructive than hate to all, and that was something 999 couldn't handle.

Taunting 999 as it was unable to destroy it as 035 probably knew it wanted to.
035 was on the floor in his sad state mask. He knew that 999 was going to obliterate him. He is so lucky one of the foundation's core values revolves around containment and preservation. Him changing his mask to reflect a mocking smile at the end when he got saved made me want to see SCP 999 just break him for causing others their pain and suffering

682 was born to kill but he doesn't do it out of a sick, twisted pleasure. He does it like it's his job, he just wants to get it over with and 999 thinks he could persuade 682 to stop.
106 used to be either corporal Lawrence, a weirdo of a soldier who accidentally fell into a hole filled with black goo and transformed or he was Robert scratch who felt his existence either dissipate or spread out due to the lack of reality in scp 3001. 106 is a tragic evil even if he is a sadist but that means there is still a chance for him to change.
The plague doctor is either delusional or the pestilence is a genuine and wants to help humanity even if he is delusional. He is doing doing what is happening out of a will to save everyone so 999 would definitely embrace him for a hug.
096 only kills because he is forced to or because he feels like he has to but either way the test with 978 the desire camera proves he doesn't want to kill and just wants to be alone and is clearly suffering immensely. He is just a tortured soul that wants to be alone. He probably wad tortured by the SCP on Mt everest and transformed into the 096 we know now because if the mountains environment and the SCP trying to torture and kill him. 096 is not evil in any way shape or form he just wants to be alone.
035 is sadistic, twisted and has never shown any redeeming qualities and chooses to be evil for pure sadistic joy with no plans to ever change despite being inside the minds of awful criminals that probably have many regrets like the d class in this episode and yet it doesn't care at all, it is worse than 106 because 106 an accident cause him to transform that he didn't choose whether he be Lawrence or scranton but the mask was always evil from the beginning with no regrets.
What would 173 be considered
@@acaciusgoldenlight1755 scp 173 has less sentience than 096 because when a picture of it was take by scp 978 (the desire camera) nothing was changed. Though It seems 173 is soulless and empty, it seems uncaring of any emotion, it could be mad that people are either looking or not looking at it, maybe since it is a sculpture it wants to be looked at since it is an art piece, maybe if it did react it would stop snapping necks when you blink and it would let you observe it like a normal statue, that or nothing would happen since it is either barely or not sentient.

I would like to suggest one change: after the agents collect #035 they hear a deep gurgling sound and look to see #999 growling and spiking up (I’m thinking it resembles ferrofluid) while it slithers toward the mask. Showing everyone a clear intent to attack it.
I like the thought of scp personnel in armor going into a testing chamber to contain 035 and while that is happening, one guy is chucking M&M's to prevent 999 from destroying it.
