OMG this is the best recipe ever!! I've been to M & S and I love it! I bought a wonderful piece of halibut in Illwaco Washington and cooked it like this and it was amazing!! Thanks for giving this simple recipe to all of us!

Gonna try this tonight, but I may bake it after a pan searing with the blackberry sauce over a bed of wild rice. Thanks for the idea. I'm sure my wife will love this over our Halibut we caught off of Deep Creek Alaska!

I love halibut, or any other fish from Pacific NW. Not sure I would make this recipe but I loved that M&S's Chef made the cooking video. Hope you will do a lot more of them.

The Fish was done when he said "We're gonna need another 4-5 Minutes." In fact, the fish was done about 1 minute before he said this!

HOLY CRAP HOW BEAUTIFUL!! To each their own, maybe if you eat halibut ALOT, it’s Fun & delicious to add this gorgeous sauce. If you don’t agree with this professional chefs recipe, “ Idea here.....” 💡❗️‼️.... just hit the ¥ or X OR BACK button... ya don’t have to spew HATE & attack him, REALLY you’d put his Fish sauce w/ White wine VINEGAR on your ICE CREAM🍨 ??? Holy SHℹ️⬆️. UMMM 🆗🆒....🤢 .. jus sayin’ Wag More... BARK LESS... everyone’s so judgmental & narcissistic....it’s SCARY!

Yeah, with respect to the chef, I think that's too long. That fillet is not a very thick cut, plus halibut dries out easily too. Its just a personal preference, but I like it medium or just barely cooked. The sauce is interesting. That 's from a guy who isn't really a big fan of McCormick/Schmicks.

3 min each side for that thickness then to 350 oven to hold for 2-3 min while preparing sauce. Better with a picata and shiitake mushroom sauce IMHO

7 mins each side??! Don't do that unless you want jerkey.

Cassis is blackcurrent liquor, not blackberry as listed in the ingredients - much more flavour than blackberry.

I’m not against the sauce, but that halibut’s swimming days are long over! Chef should have a DELICATE hand dressing that fish. It looked like a piece of cheesecake by the time he was done, not an elegant entree.🤦🏻‍♀️

Wow ,,, what an awful way to destroy a beautiful piece of halibut !! that's just awful, how the hell you can taste the delicate flavor of that fish after dumping that disgusting sauce over it ,,, you should have used the sauce for ice cream !!

French cuisine is one of the best in the world and it’s mostly about the sauce which if done right will bring out the best in the food

I never knew sea skinned oysters were meat.the, fish is global elite 1% meat by megacorp making it an ( pizza tasting kind of meat?). Yes, an perfect meal my guess would be brown crab aspartame, thy who consioussness being an balanced diet!.

"...the only place in the world (Pacific Northwest) where halibut is taken out of the water." This is not true. Here in Norway we have lots of wild halibut that is just as good as anything I've tasted in Seattle, where I lived for eight years.

Even though the presentation is OK (maybe better cameras were not available in 2009), this is not a recipe I would try. I love blackberries and cassis, but I can't imagine those flavors on my favorite fish. Pouring that dark, translucent sauce over the fish makes the fish look ugly. It ruins the beautifully browned crust.
