Every last one of your videos always seem to come at the right time and was much needed today. Thank you for sharing this inspirational story and for allowing students from all walks of life to see that dreams do come true with hard work and dedication.
I love how you worked really hard to pursue your dreams study hard, work, and you still had time to go to church and serve God. And now he has truly blessed you!😊🙏🏽
i am 14 my two dream jobs are becoming a dermatologist or anesthesiologists! i really want to help people 💗. although it’ll take a really long time i am determined to make it. thank you for being my inspiration.
This is an amazing story. I cannot wait to hear the rest of it. I am an incoming anesthesiology resident currently starting my prelim medicine year. I was wondering if you could make a video on how to study in residency and more specifically the resources to use during the anesthesiology residency years as well as how did you master all the different procedures ( central lines, A-line, etc)
Thank you so much for this video!!! I’m currently a CVICU Nurse, have been for the last 20 yrs. I’m applying to med school😅… this has been such a long held dream of mine. I wanted to attend when in my earlier years, but life and finances were always an issue for my parents. Now older and with more clinical experience, I’m stoked to be starting this journey at 40😬. I don’t care, I will pursue my dream no matter the cost.❤❤ Again, thank you 🙏🏼
Hello Dr. Francois, I am so inspired by your journey. This is proof that when you want something bad enough in life be you will work to get it. Thanks for your inspiration. Can't wait for the next video!!!!!
OMG Dr. Francois. Thank you so so much for your video. Your video was so inspiring. I want to say thank you for telling us your path to medicine. Some Doctors don’t tell us everything they went through. People propel the myth that failure is soo bad... how will you ever be a doctor. I keep hearing Doctors say on RUclips if you want this a badly as you say you do... you will become a doctor. The later statement is what I choose to believe now. It’s a hard and difficult road to medicine and I am glad to know your to story. It tells me that their is hope that I too will get into medical school. I love medicine a lot and I can’t wait to become a physician! I as a second year going into my 3rd year as a premed has had some struggles too. I learned a lot about myself and how to handle a difficult course load. I would always drop classes when it got hard and not stick thru it because I was so afraid of failure and it not looking good for medical school. But it’s the failures (that I now know😅) that will make us better doctors. I love knowing that not everyone made straight A’s to get in Medical school. A lot of now doctors now had to retake classes while on the premed pathway. I will keep following your inspirational channel. Thank you so much for helping us reach our dreams as you reached your dream in becoming a physician!
Are you Haitian? I’m Haitian and your story sounds similar to me and many of my first generation American friends. I’m applying to medical school this year. Thanks for sharing your story.
Thank you for this video; it is well made. Some people will just tell people what college and med school they went to, and end it there. I appreciate how you start from elementary school to where you are now. And including your love life also was helpful because some people think med students live a too busy life for love. Well done!
Thank you so much for this video, Dr. Francois! Your journey has been absolutely inspiring. As a 2nd med student I love to listen to other med students and physicians detail their journey into medicine and overcoming life's hurdles. I look forward to your part two.
Thank you for making this inspirational video. You mentioned how you always dreamt of becoming a doctor. what actually inspired you to begin with? Also, a lot of children growing up in low income areas fall into the hands of hanging With the wrong crowd, drugs, fighting, etc. how was your upbringing different from other children or what motivated you to stay on track in school? Thanks so much!
Kim, I was blessed with a mom who put us 1st and She kept us in church! 2-3x/week! No time for getting caught up in other stuff lol! I can’t pin down the exact event that got me turned on to medicine, but I remember really loving my science classes while in middle school! Thanks so much for watching.
Thank you for this video! You are so resilient 💜 since you had a 3rd round of applications, how many years were there from the time that you first applied to medical school and was actually accepted
@STEM Scientist Thanks for watching! I counted my application/entry into the undergrad/accelerated med school program as the 1st attempt, but after I eventually graduated college (2005) I tried 2 more times and entered med school in 2007.
I just found your channel. I have wanted to become a doctor from since early high school, but based on certain choices I have made in my life I have not been able to complete my route to med school in the “traditional manner”. I just finished my BA, but still have to do my pre-reqs for med school. I feel so conflicted though because of the factors in my life such as being married with kids. This video is definitely encouraging. If you are willing and time allows, I would love to personally speak to you and get some advice and direction.

Great video! But for a tip you should try not to block the like or dislike button. It just sets a bad precedent for the viewer from the beginning.
