Folks need to realize that this is one of the very best bands out there, I saw them a few years back at the SABAN THEATRE in Beverly Hills, whoa, they were punishingly heavy and mean, not at all like what many fans THINK they are, they just crushed it in every way, and they have been turning out great new platters on a regular basis, if you get a chance to see them, do so, they satisfy in every department!
I saw them on the 30th anniversary of the final countdown tour in Germany (Colon) the show was epic. I wish they would tour america with Def Leppard. Covid killed their last USA tour with Foreigner. They are one of my All time favorite bands.
Europe are not afraid to pursue different directions and I love the new sound on this song. Joey Tempest sounds great very much like early metal era Joey Tempest and as always John Norum's guitarwork is stellar. The lyrics are very dark another thing in common with early Europe. I love all of their music. I never stopped loving Europe. I had a Russian/Siberian best friend a long time ago and we were both huge into Europe. I don't care who the guitar player is- they had very different techniques. I guess I prefer John Norum he's tastier, but Kee Marcello is really good too just a lot more over the top flashy. Europe are legends. They are a great band. I like this song a lot.
Benjamin Blake Mitchner the new album is out next month in the uk, i will buy it, if the rest of the album is like this, they could be looking at a smash hit album.

My wife and I saw Europe for the first time outside of Okla City, OK about 16 months ago and we were blown away by the quality of their music. I liked them much when they made Final Countdown but these guys have progressed to the point where they are much underrated and proficient at what they do. They are simply Great. What grabbed me the most when we saw them was they played and interacted with the audience as if it was a large venue and it wasn't (many folks lost out on this one). Additionally, they never once cussed during the whole performance. Not only talented but well cultured too. They probably learned long ago that if you have talent, cussing is not required. We endure enough of that in society as it is.
Europe Fans UNITE! They are back and slowly building their grace, power and momentum since reforming in 2003. These are clever guys and wonderful musicians, the feeling is we are on the verge of a major release that will BLOW people away! Rock on Europe and please, please come to Australia. This is the most legit album Europe has ever produced in my opinion. Pure hard rock and heavy metal in the classic style. Sounds like Tony Martin era Black Sabbath at times.
Mitchfynde Europe, Wings of Tomorrow and Last look at Eden are my favourite Europe albums, but this one is probably my number one album by Europe. This album shows how far this band has come since the 80's. Of course they are not the same band from the years of The Final Countdown to Prisoners in Paradise. Since Start from the Dark they realized that the Glam metal movement was in the past and that they needed to evolve their sound and lyrics into something better. Last look at eden (2009) was a step in the right direction, Bag of Bones was ok, but it missed something. War of Kings. Probably my number 1 album by Europe Some would say. ooh it's not like the Final Countdown or Out of this World. Well of course not. They are not the same Europe from the 80's. They are a little older as well + wiser. They matured their sound and lyrics (over the years) and delivered a great album with decent lyrics. A retro Hard Rock/heavy metal album with some influences from the 70's and early 80's (like the almighty DIO), the blues and their first 2 albums. Some bands only get better over the years. And Europe finally sounds mature + as a decent Hard Rock/metal band.
The way I look at it is that Europe started out great with their first two albums and then kind of lost it a bit with the rest of their 80's and early 90's output. Starting with the bands 2004 comeback album Start From The Dark Europe's music has been gradually getting better again.

In first i had to get used to the dark vibe, as Europe was more kind of happy melodic rock. Now i can't stop listening to this song and all their new work. They seem to get better with age and always able to surprise with new classics. Even live, fresh as always! One of the best and most underrated rockbands ever!
IMO this is the best Europe album yet. Joey's vocals are still strong. Really enjoying that 70's and early 80"s vibe. Between War of Kings and "Pale Communion" by OPETH the two outstanding retro style releases in the past few years
This is just fantastic! It's obviously not new anymore but IMHO it might actually be Europe's best track ever. Ever since the reunion and the release of "Start from the Dark", the band has gone from strength to strength and managed to find a place in today's musical climate. An impressive comeback, to say the least.
It's so different from the Final Countdown, the sound, the looks and again a classic masterpiece. Predjudice, gained 30 years ago made them well known as the most underrated rockband ever!
One of finest examples who were once quit but re-started the band.O do appreciate that they are an alive and kickin' band who does not tend to look back over the past.
It sounds just like the 90's Grunge Rock! Simply the coolest ever! It reminds me of the Winger's 3rd album, whose arrangements is similar the 90's, too! Winger also began with a bit of The 80's Hard Rock sound, through "Miles Away". Both of these bands are great!

Just heard the new album and it is incredible. Been a fan since the 80s and while I still love to listen to those old albums, I like the fact that the band has never been interested in reliving or attempting to recreate that time. They've gotten older like all of us and their music has grown with them. Every album since the reunion has been fresh and new.

ALBUM OF THE YEAR!......AND THE BEST EUROPE YET! I have to be honest, when I first heard a clip of this song I thought "Oh no this album is going to be very moody and wishy washy". I then read a review and it was negative. My faith and interest in the band which has lasted for literally decades was the deciding factor to order the album anyway. Good Lord, when I first played it from front to back I thought to myself "Holy shit....this is a classic!....Sounds like Joey and the boys made the album of their life, serving up a rock n' roll record with all the guts and glory you could ask for. If you like the poppy side of Europe you may not be in to this recording, but if you like the rock side then you'll love it. Could be just me, but this is what I believe to be the absolute best this band has sounded and the best recording they've ever made. You can definitely hear some very prominent classic rock influences throughout, but it's still entirely unique, fresh and has tremendous heart and soul! I thought I was growing tired of rock n' roll, but this album has single handedly rejuvenated my love for this genre, and also a very new found a well deserved respect for this band!
Jan Patrick Lucas I love this album and it has to be their best by far. What I don't understand are all these people who say they don't hear any of the old Europe in the music. They have still added a classic Europe touch. I can especially hear it in this song. There is a touch of "Rock the Night" in the chords but much heavier. They have gotten back to their roots, back to actual rock.

**This just in** Bands are human and go through things. Dream Theater has dark songs. 'Operation:Mindcrime' was dark Queensrÿche. Not every album can be catchy & poppy. I like this. Makes them seem more human, sort of.

Majestic um no not even close. Epic um no again there is nothing epic about this song. Powerful yeah powerfully awful. To each their own but the only good thing about this song was the keys that's it. Tempest has lost his vocal tonality and they have produced nothing but lackluster material since their reunion.
I wanted an up-tempo song, this is what we've got....And i like it a lot! It took about 4 listenings and it hasn't got out of my head. Counting the days until the new album release. Plain rock, classic rock, blues rock, melodic rock, Europe has got it all!
I just saw Europe live this week and let me just say. This video is real laid back. Live Joey and the boys of Europe tore this song up! I mean to say, they were hard pounding and heavy. Maybe a more subdued video and produced sound sells more CDs, who knows.

Las raíces de Europe están en los dos primeros albumes. Eran libres. El problema vino con la sobreexposicion de una sola canción de su tercer álbum y nadie se ha parado a ver más allá ni a mirar antes de ese álbum. Falta de promoción tiene este grupo a mi entender
Love this track and love this album. Only discovered Europe in the last couple of years when I went to see them on their Bag of Bones tour and I am now truly hooked. I love Final Countdown of course, but this new stuff is really gritty and Joey's voice is good and strong. Can't comment on guitarists as I never followed them in the 80s, but the guy I saw on the War of Kings tour was awesome. Long may they continue.
I really respect Europe for what they've done since the "Start from the dark album". Still, I kinda regret the days when they'd write catchy songs like "Prisoners in paradise", "superstitious"...
Imo Prisoners in Paradise is their best album! Excellent guitar work by Kee Marcello, great lyrics and song performance by Joey, nice basslines by John Levén and really catchy drum beats by Ian. I don't say that the new Europe is bad, I like Last Look At Eden, Bag of Bones and War of Kings but what they did on Start From The Dark and Secret Society was to me not the best..
jean-pierre straub I don't like "Out of This World" very much because they are trying too much to reapeat TFC success and it's too pop. "Prisoners in Paradise" is great and I think "Last Look at Eden" sounds a little bit like it.
After the rather bluesy Bag Of Bones album (which was not quite my piece of cake) this album marks the return to their original hard rock roots. Very well done guys or - as you say in Sweden - UTMÄRKT!

I then read a review and it was negative. My faith and interest in the band which has lasted for literally decades was the deciding factor to order the album anyway. Good Lord, when I first played it from front to back I thought to myself "Holy shit....this is a classic!....Sounds like Joey and the boys made the album of their life, serving up a rock n' roll record with all the guts and glory you could ask for. If you like the poppy side of Europe you may not be in to this recording, but if you like the rock side then you'll love it. Could be just me, but this is what I believe to be the absolute best this band has sounded and the best recording they've ever made. You can definitely hear some very prominent classic rock influences throughout, but it's still entirely unique, fresh and has tremendous heart and soul! I thought I was growing tired of rock n' roll, but this album has single handedly rejuvenated my love for this genre, and also a very new found a well deserved respect for this band!
Jan Patrick Lucas I love this album and it has to be their best by far. What I don't understand are all these people who say they don't hear any of the old Europe in the music. They have still added a classic Europe touch. I can especially hear it in this song. There is a touch of "Rock the Night" in the chords but much heavier. They have gotten back to their roots, back to actual rock.

Majestic um no not even close. Epic um no again there is nothing epic about this song. Powerful yeah powerfully awful. To each their own but the only good thing about this song was the keys that's it. Tempest has lost his vocal tonality and they have produced nothing but lackluster material since their reunion.
I wanted an up-tempo song, this is what we've got....And i like it a lot! It took about 4 listenings and it hasn't got out of my head. Counting the days until the new album release. Plain rock, classic rock, blues rock, melodic rock, Europe has got it all!

I just saw Europe live this week and let me just say. This video is real laid back. Live Joey and the boys of Europe tore this song up! I mean to say, they were hard pounding and heavy. Maybe a more subdued video and produced sound sells more CDs, who knows.

paqui leal cornejo concuerdo con tu comentario, los fans se quedan en el pasado esperando un disco como el the final countdown o prisioners in paradise ... bag of bones,start from the dark son buenisimos álbumes. pocas bandas logran salir del estigma de "glam"siendo que siempre a sido una banda de hard rock/heavy metal y crear discos buenos en esta época que la música es tan basura ... y los fans al no querer abrirse a un estilo nuevo de disco "matan la música" por decirlo así, al no darle una oportunidad de oirlo.
Además la poca promoción también es un problema para este grupo hay lugares donde estos álbumes no han llegado nunca la gente se ha quedado con el recuerdo de unos pocos álbumes los más famosos son buenos pero personalmente prefiero Europe Wings of tomorrow y los que han hecho desde start from The dark .

Las raíces de Europe están en los dos primeros albumes. Eran libres. El problema vino con la sobreexposicion de una sola canción de su tercer álbum y nadie se ha parado a ver más allá ni a mirar antes de ese álbum. Falta de promoción tiene este grupo a mi entender

Love this track and love this album. Only discovered Europe in the last couple of years when I went to see them on their Bag of Bones tour and I am now truly hooked. I love Final Countdown of course, but this new stuff is really gritty and Joey's voice is good and strong. Can't comment on guitarists as I never followed them in the 80s, but the guy I saw on the War of Kings tour was awesome. Long may they continue.

Imo Prisoners in Paradise is their best album! Excellent guitar work by Kee Marcello, great lyrics and song performance by Joey, nice basslines by John Levén and really catchy drum beats by Ian. I don't say that the new Europe is bad, I like Last Look At Eden, Bag of Bones and War of Kings but what they did on Start From The Dark and Secret Society was to me not the best..
