    August is far too early to pick sloes, that’s why they taste sour, October time is the best to pick and they’re not sour at all

      Depends what you’re harvesting them for, if you’re harvesting them for the yeast colonies on their skins like me then August is as good a time as any.

      Here in spain they're all shriveled in October. I forage for them in august anf freeze them. Then i make jam.

    Been using plantains dried in tea for years seems to be keeping pests away. Seem to sweat more though but mYbe that's just an age thing?!!

      That’s a great idea! I guess I could always sweeten it with a little honey as well 🫖
