Fun fact: this coaster was financially supported by Hessen...so in fact they wasted not only a lot of money but the money was partly taxes 🤦🏻♂️
387534 7582782 actually tho, it wouldn’t have beaten the fastest accelerating launch as that title would have still belonged to Do-Dodonpa that opened in 2001, whereas Ring Racer was initially planned to open in 2009, however it would have become the second fastest: coasterpedia.net/wiki/Fastest_launch_accelerations
I remember when this came out it was slated to be the fastest coaster in the world.
It was supposed to attain the speed eventually hit by Formula Rossa, but the structure couldn't handle the strain of launch at that speed.
Yeah the speed was going to be like 145 mph I think?
It was not supposed to beat the Rossa, it was supposed to be the fastest at the time but the opening of formula rossa would end up making the record even higher and thus, making it unnattainable for ring racer.

Maybe if Nurburgring had consulted with Intamin, they would've been able to install their magnetic launch systems, and it would still be open.
The park removed it because the new management weren’t interested in operating a roller coaster.

That straight section puts Top Thrill Dragster to shame.
It would probably be better as an indoor ride with lights, music and projected images that are synced to where the train is.
In GT Sport, as I drive down the main straight, I always wondered what that roller coaster looked liked. Now I wonder no more.

Oh, it finally opened? Took quite a while.
For those who aren't informed - the start was delayed for several years because the acceleration engine exploded or something. This ride was supposed to be much faster but despite loads of testings afterwards, the Nürnberg government just didn't give the OK. So to all haters - send your hate to the politicians :P
This and Flying Turns opened this year and you still have to take notes, Orphan Rocker.
HOLY SHIT! A Coaster at the Nuerburgring. For those who are not Racing fans the Nuerburgring is one of the most famous Formula One tracks in the world, at the end of the run you are coasting through the Formula Pit Boxes. I've got to try this.

It's pretty close. Dodonpa still accelerates faster by about 4.3 meters per second squared. Still a ridiculously fast launch for Ring Racer!

OMG that's fast.
Did you know that this roller coaster was supposed to be the fastest in the world in 2009? Yes, she was going to reach 217km / h in 2 seconds, surpassing Kingda Ka, that then their intention. But the test went wrong, and the launch and station part exploded.
You mean that there should be a place where questions such as these can be found. Like the description. If that didn't work, like copy and pasting into google? lol.
