Emma and Mel C make up the signature spice girls sound and sang all of the memorable choruses (Emmas voice sounds loudest in the mix to me on a lot of their choruses with of course Mel C's signature ad lib and solo parts) Mel B and Geri had very memorable parts in the verses like in Wannabe. Victoria dominates Holler but got overlooked mostly.
Emma has a stunning recording voice. If you listen to most of the spice girl songs, that's her voice commanding the chorus-but it doesn't translate to a stage very well. Its as weak as a kitten. Mel C has a strange tone to it that can be slightly grating, but wow, she can really sing-and on stage she really shines. Mel B and Victoria are fine, nothing special but nice voices-especially in studio (I actually think victoria has quite a rich tone) Geri though...poor Geri. She has no voice whatsoever. That clip of her singing a toned down version of Wannabe is dreadful. She's trying SO HARD to sing well. You can tell every note has been practiced to within an inch of its life...but nah, she's just not a singer. Still love them all though

I don't think Victoria was the weakest singer-her tone is very appealing and rich. Geri had/has a very thin voice, Emma's is very angelic and she harmonizes beautifully. Mel C is seemingly only improving with time-and Mel B I always thought had a solid and unique voice, probably the most underrated vocally.
Geri's voice has gotten thinner as she has gotten older. In the 90s, she was louder and more dominant than Victoria, although Victoria had better tone and range. Mel B is probably the most versatile voice out of the Girls, although she seems to be the least likely to focus in on singing over performing in general.

She didn't work on her voice after her solo career ended. Melanie C and Emma are the only ones, who have sustained their singing voices. Melanie C though is the only one of the group who's constantly working on it and gets better with every record. Mel B tried a comeback with her single For Once In My Life, but it didn't work out. She's a great performer with The Spice Girls, but she was never known for her singing voice. 🙂

so i listened without looking at the vid and when it got to 5:50, i had to look at the video to check who it was because the voice is beautiful and alas, it was Victoria!
Emma and Mel C held the band together vocally, Mel C could pull the high notes and Emma was great at harmonising and the softer notes. I would probably tie Victoria and Mel B next as they both had strengths (Mel rapping and Victoria had a nice soft voice), and Geri the lowest.
