    your video is really attracting me as your car is manual without any cruise control. Can you make another video in detail about how you connected all the wires. I cannot understand that your setting as you don't even have a camera on the dashboard.
    please, give us a depth detailed video.

      If you'll still want a video let me know, I'll try to explain with text first. You use the github.com/commaai/openpilot/wiki/VW-J533-%28Gateway%29-Cable harness. You don't need to intercept any messages in this case because the strategy is a bit differrent. I just programmed the eps to convince it that is has Lane assist installed, which you cannot even buy on the Caddy from that generation AFAIK, but that also means that there is no camera that could be making trouble with commands to intercept. So I just directly send the steering commands from the C2 to the EPS to get it to steer.
      For the harness routing I removed the side dashboard pannel that is hidden by the door and put the harness through the hole that's there

      @@wangmat9219 Let me know if you have any specific questions. Otherwise, you simply use the Comma2 device with the J533 harness. You also have to use Vcds to convince the power steering that the car has lane assist installed, and then it's pretty simple to get it working.

      @@grekiki Hello Gregor, awesome work! I have a Golf MK5 from 2008 with retrofited DSG 7, Lane Assist, Side Assist, Cruise Control and PLA 2.0. Only to make sure, it should work correct? Or anything missing?

    Wow! I've got a 2012 Jetta TDI and have always wanted to do this. Where did you buy the J533 wiring harness? If you could email me where to buy all the stuff to make this work and how to hook it up I would appriciate it.

    • @grekiki
      @grekiki  3 года назад +1

      You should be able to buy a J533 harness from Comma "soon", might want to contact their support if they already have some made...
      So I guess buy everything from comma.ai and by contacting support@comma.ai
      If you don't want to wait you can buy a community harness from discord.comma.ai and a Comma2 from comma.ai, but the community made harness isn't really the best quality IMO, it works fine in my case though. It is a lot cheaper though.

      Using J533 and since it has no extended can had to modify the 26 pin connector to move the PT can on CAN0. Then I am just sending all of the data on the PT can which apparently works :)
