  • 2025 is my year to finally take learning French seriously. Honestly, it turned out way easier than I expected to take a bus from UTB Adjamé to Yamoussoukro, thanks to my tour guide Mr. Williams and my host Andreas.
Also, can we talk about Ivorians and their love for plantain? Like, why was everyone buying Bole (roasted plantain) at every stop? No complaints here, though.
But the real adventure started after dark. You know all those generic travel warnings about how “tourists shouldn’t move around after dark”? Yeah, I don’t listen to those. I mean, I’m too much of a foodie for that! So, just like in Togo, I stepped out into the streets of Yamoussoukro late at night-this time for my stomach and my curiosity.
This video is about my journey as a Nigerian English speaker, what it’s really like moving around Côte d’Ivoire, and why African cities at night might just surprise you. Let’s get into it!
