When religious leaders don't want us to see a movie it's exact why we should watch this movie.

@@zakbutt888 of course peaceful protesting should be allowed, and petitions are allowed. There are not many films I would actually want to see banned though. The best way to deal with it would be to make a film that better suits your values. The film in question is something I actually know nothing about, there are many films that I would not be interested in seeing. In a debate situation if you lose your temper or your passion makes you incoherent, you tend to lose the respect of everyone.

The Sheikh presumably thinks Christianity is false, so if he wishes to censor "falsehood" it's bad news for Christian believers in the Incarnation and Atonement, which Islam denies. Some Christian scholars regard the people they are discussing (Abu Bakr and Fatima) as mythical, as they are drawn from traditions (Hadith) from 9th century Baghdad, two hundred years after the supposed events.

the famous, Hadith books like "Bukhari" and "Muslim" were collected 200 years, but the Hadiths were traded orally between the people and other books were gathered before, and each true Hadith has many sources all of them reference back to the prophet, collecting the Hadith was a complicated process with lot of restrictions, so no nothing mythical about it.
WE live in a Christian country. There are no blasphemy laws. Muslim factions have no right to cancel a film. Those that protested the loudest did not watch or see this film. I'm a teacher, the actions of the "Dr" is exactly why I'm immediately distrustful of those who choose to go by such title, unless proven otherwise.
My viewpoints have been formed by teaching people at a PhD level over a number of years.
While I have no doubt that anyone with this title is educated, it is mostly the case that even those "doctors" who choose to continue with self-education, only do so in areas which reinforce their own subjective beliefs, further entrenching their minds in their own echo-chamber, while they use their academic titles to pontificate their own beliefs.

If your loved one was working at the cinema getting next to minimum wage would you be happy to kiss them goodbye as they walked out of the door knowing that they were going to work at a cinema when that film was being shown? I can understand why some would feel very nervous and fearful, especially after the demonstrations and after seeing this discussion and the things that were said by the iman on the right. As i understand it he was basically saying there was a good chance of violence or worse if this film was shown (he said that he was trying to prevent it by cancelling the film) its basically a threat or a warning!!! This is not acceptable in the UK. This is wrong.
Heres an idea. Why don't shiites or makers of the film not hire somewhere in the UK and show it? Could even do it in a park. Wherever . In your Mosques even? By-pass the cinema completely and in the name of free speech, show it?

As for the argument that this is not the attitude of most Muslims, 120,000 apparently signed the petition to have the movie banned from being shown, which is a sizeable number, more importantly I haven't seen anywhere in the press reports of support for showing the film from the majority of peace loving Muslims.
The 120,000 though should definitely consider if they made the right choice when they decided to come to Britain.
