Inside the Mind of Splatoon 3 Stringer Mains

- With Splatoon 3 out now, there’s been a bunch of new kits and weapon types available to players. One new weapon type are the Splatoon 3 Stringers. The stringers are a bow and arrow style class with very long range and potentially high damage output. That said, they’re more meant to support the rest of your team by racking up chip damage on enemy players in order to make them an easy splat. Right now, there’s 2 options for the types of Splatoon 3 players who’d like to get into the stringer class: the tri-stringer and the REEF-LUX. The prior is a long ranged bow that has arrows which explode shortly after impact while the latter is a faster bow that can store its charge. In the right hands, the Splatoon 3 stringers can be a real threat on the field. What weapon would you like me to cover next?

You forget to mention the sound for landing all three arrows is pure dopamine. I loved my tri stringer. Its amazing at denial.
I was struggling to find weapon that worked for me since Splatoon 2. I simply tried to tri-stinger by chance during the World Premiere, and I fell in love with it. I don't know why but I just vibe with it so hard, and I found it easier to use that squiffers! I never had splats above 17 until I played the weapon (getting 28 splats makes you feel so good fr-)
Same here. Idk why I loved it so much, but it is one of my absolute best weapons, and the first one that I love to use in every mode.
This video is so precise! I’m actually one of the more aggressive stringer mains, I’ve climbed all the way up to S+3 using the tri stringer and it’s actually a pretty good weapon! It just requires a lot of practice
Definitely! I'm still a smooth brain splatling user so trying to predict my opponents movements with the stringers was a huge change of pace x)

The reason why I love the tri stringer ans why I main It is because of how versatile it can be. The three shots are great for chip damage, and if you are more confident in your aim, you can get 1 shots. The lack of a laser also makes stringer users a pain to find.
Yeah! If the user's aim is good, they can definitely give charger mains a run for their money with the element of surprise.
Probably the Splatana next since it’s the second new weapon class. If you do Splatana I’m excited to see how it’ll turn out!

I haven't used stringers too much myself but they're an interesting class to play. Too bad my aim is just as bad as my charger aim.

Since some main weapons haven't launched yet (and I still need time to get all the weapons) I'll probably blend in some main weapons with some of the specials. So ITM of Crab Tank may come sooner than you think. 👀
With the clips Alpha gave where he just lands those insane shots, it gives promise that if a pro player picks up this weapon, they will SLAY with it!
So I’m a Splatterscope main, but I’ve been using the reef lux to grind chunks in turf war and it’s really good for that

@@Alphastar716 and I’m slightly ashamed to admit I’ve been using it for the splatfest too. It’s just too good not to use, even though it has missiles and that makes me feel dirty when I use it
I'm thinking of spending one of my gold licenses the REEF-LUX when I get my hands on the game! Stringers look like hard weapons to master, but I feel like I can use them if I play enough matches with them!
They're fun things to play around with if I'm honest! Same with the splatanas.
If you don't have that many other weapons you'd like to spend gold licenses on I'd say go for it!
Just remember that when Sheldon says that the reef-lux is about mobility _he means it_ lol. use your curling bombs to absolutely soar around the map and quick jumpshots to get vertical ink lines from the bow and you can escape basically any fight you want lol, the survivability on this is insane. On top of that if you get good with your aim a fully charged shot can either ohko or make the next shot kill guaranteed lol, so it's pretty good at splatting too.
Never neglect your tentamissiles btw, navigate to a safe spot fast and you can spam those things like nobody's business lol.
What if you did a mini game called Bow Battles. The rules are you can’t kill people until you have them in you mist. A kill is one point. A double kill would be 2 points, a triple kill would be 3 points points, and a wipeout is 4 points. If you kill someone without the mist the other team will get an automatic 4 points. This battle will take places in turf war. And another thing I forgot to mention is if you win the turf war it’s an extra point.The team with the most points wins. Please pick this mini game and if you pick it it would be the first mini game for splatoon 3.
I love this video! I'm terrible at enemy prediction and mindgames in general, especially under pressure, but I really love playing the stringer weapons, and they've been helping me improve that weakness of mine, ever-so-slowly 😊
This weapon is so nice compared to chargers because it has a good 1 shot window but even if you miss it, you can still do damage, plus painting their feet, plus even if all the shots miss, the explosions can still do chip damage
I actually liked using the Tri-Stringer during the Testfire but it quickly got replaced when I got the full game. Wonder if they changed it to be worse
I don't think it's any different? Maybe it's because more people learned how to fight it.

I suck at aiming, so I’ve mostly been using the tap shots with the reef-lux lol. It’s always awesome to land a fully charged shot though since it doesn’t have the bottles like the tristringer

Ya know. I just remembered that one guy from Splatoon therapist who wanted a brush that had splattershot pro range. Well, he kinda got his wish with the Splatana. They both have similar range
Oh yeah, from the therapist video! A lot lower fire rate but the splatanas do have that kind of range.

the reeflux is my favorite splatoon weapon, maybe ever, it's everything I've ever wanted out of a weapon in this game

One thing I feel like players don't realize is the tri stringer isn't a charger. Yes, it has a one shot if you hit all three, but you should only use that on a target you know you can hit. The half charge shot still explodes, and is great for area control. Reeflux is just missle spam lmao

Good job on the video, I bought the tri stringer recently and I can relate a lot to the aiming problems.
Somehow, they made it harder to hit with than a charger or blaster direct.

I'm simple. I see a bow weapon in a shooter game, I main it.
I knew he would find a way to involve Akhos in this.
I wanted to main the stringer as soon as it was announced. I may loose a few games but I want to play the weapon I love and every now and then (I'm getting these more frequently now) I play a match and really pop off, I play at the sidelines and I just found it perfect
And that's all that matters!

I am gonna be honest, I was excited to get the bow. Once I started using it, it wasn’t as good as I thought lol. There is so much calculating just to get ONE kill. I’m not BAD at it…. Just not what I excepted..? Great video Alpha!💅
I feel like you could get really good with the weapon if you poor a lot of time into it. It's a mixture of aim and prediction with the shots it fires.

As someone who would LIKE to main reef lux, I just feel guilty for having missles. Too bad the devs didn't go for putting missles on stringer and killer wail on reef it makes so much more sense. The only reason why I don't like tri stringer more is because you can't hold charge while you swim, but then with reef you can?? Make it make sense.

I fully believe that two direct hits from arrows should be enough to splat ngl, also the bubble thing (the sub I forgot it's name) is way too weak
It is a useful sub for when you have an opponent in a corner, as it makes your shots do more damage. While the stringer shots may seem weak at first, a bit of practice with it shows how infuriating they can be to fight.
