I have been tying Bob popovics flies since his first book Pop Fleyes in the 1990's. I love his concept of tying flies that solves problems. You are carrying on that same mindset. Thanks.

Very nice montage, it leaves me speechless. You do a lot of work and it makes a fantastic fly. Carnivores will never resist to this bait.

insane video series, i've been loving it. i gotta get some of my own going now. as best as i can figure it looks like it winds up about the size and shape of the bucktail it came from, but instead of being a few thousand strands it'll be a few hundred

You are incredible media magnet gifted artists 😍
Im more in to the primal or primitive times of tying a fly pattern, 3 steps is to many to approach the hunt for a predator sport fish in my local spots.
    But I must say!!!
👏👏👏…and that’s how a master tier should be forged ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Yet another great looking fly m8!!!!
BUT.......Could you please make a video where you tie this fly ( or maybe I should say: a "gamechanger style" reverse hollow tie bucktail version" )in "trout size"???

Great video. I’m guilty of over dressing my last one. It came out nice but it’s not quite there. Love this series!

    Absolutely magnificent 👌
    Looks like a PERFECT fly
About what size shank should the head shank be?
Also, it looked like you used a touch of super glue? Do you only do that on the head or all throughout the fly?
I'm brand new to tying but just discovered your channel recommended by the guys at my local Fly Angler shop here in MN! Going to watch all the videos I can, thanks for making these!!

Gunnar, I was going to ask what the bending jig was but that was the first question below. It is a really, really nice fly though. Keep the good stuff coming.

  • @TheCanary24

    Awesome!
But I've a question: don't you think that increasing of hook amount can makes this fly more predator? Why you choose to make it with single hook?

I'm not sure what he uses but fish chase flies and others use a 1 step looper and some single strand stainless steel bite wire used in saltwater fishing

Where do smallmouth fit in regarding eating style relative to their mouth?

    • @Gunnar_Brammer
      @Gunnar_Brammer  2 года назад +1

Smallmouth, Largemouth, White Bass, Stripers, and Hybrids would all fall into the "Buckmouth" Category for feeding style and Hook Placement.
