  • Starting off the series on Extended Body Bucktail Deceivers with a Monofilament Extension. This video aims to showcase tying on a Mono Extension in Hand with proper technique for building Bucktail Deceivers and other Extended Body flies.
    Materials:
    Berkley Vanish Flourocarbon 60lb Leader Material or Perlon Hard Monofilament Leader Material
    Thread: Danville Fine Monofilament .006
    Glue: CA+ Zap A Gap
    Bucktail - Not premium! Average 4" Hair!!!

    I rough up the mono with abrasive paper - make a good key for thread to grip

    Nicely done video! The Deceiver is such a classic beautiful fly . I’m assuming this extended body stuff doesn’t probably work as well with your weedless hooks, correct?
