Well done. We just spent 2 months in Turkey, and everything you say is so true. Especially the online agent that are trying to tell you that they will help you avoid the queue to places that have very little people to begin with.

Merhaba! I've followed your adventures and travel blog and you are generous to share how to have the best experience traveling in Türkije. Turkey has been a great place to travel, we've gone twice in the last two years, and driving there is so easy that I encourage anyone going there to get off the tourist track and visit the small towns. Also, any foreign language is hard but google translate allowed me, a 62 year old retiree, to have an hours long chat with a complete stranger (Şanlıurfa) about life, food and what's important for them to share about themself. It is indispensable and eliminates the excuse of not speaking a language. İlginç zamanlarda yaşıyoruz. Umarım bir gün yollarımız kesişir.

I am In Istanbul now having a good time. Yes balloon rides are costly. They didi not go up for 4 mornings we were i Cappadocia. Our cave hotel host told us they jack after windy days too. I had a huge chicken donation sandwich and a coke for a little over $ 2 today. Memrise says I know 130 Turkish words.

Your tips are spot on. 1) Go to a restaurant where actual Turks go and never ever eat at a restaurant where they serve kebab and pizza together. 2) Interact with local people, they will go above and beyond even if they cannot speak English. This is very true outside of istanbul. 3) go to farmers market. The prices of fresh produce are written.

Bro how can you compare prices in pandemic term and now. Do we live in same world? Everything is more expensive than 2021. In that time hotels were cheaper and everything bcz there wasnt many tourist. Somehow i agree with you cappadocia getting more and more expensive yet you could do fair comparison

Bro been in Turkey for 6 months and an expert enough to write a guide on Turkey. Could try to understand the dynamics of stuff before shitting on them. I’m sure didn’t even bother to look for expenses of those agencies’ for exp. If such a good hearted person just publish your guide for people and don’t sell it for 15 euros, right?

Its crazy for you to compare hot air balloon prices to 2021. The middle of covid tourist numbers were low and heavy discounts had to be implemented just to get the patronage.
You should have compared to 2019, just before covid where prices were between 150-200 Euro. Actually all of your comparisons should be to 2019 pre-pandemic times.

🇹🇷 As Turks, we are very hospitable. Our local people and vendors are very good. You can experience that local people offer you many things for free. They can give a lot for free. This is due to the generosity of our Turkishness and Islam. When you come, research and taste Islam. What you need to pay attention to is the PKK (Eastern terrorist organization supported by Europe) sympathizers in Istanbul and touristic coastal towns. Many PKK sympathizers of eastern origin run stores. You can understand them from their faces and their repulsiveness. Shop from Turkish and Muslim gentle people. Turks are honest and soft-hearted, not PKK members.

As a British female who travelled solo to Turkey many times, please could you tell me what I am supposed to have suffered? I have always found the locals protective. In fact, I felt safer in Turkey, no drunken jobs on the street at night.
