I can not stand these hypocrites. They claim to hate the overreach of government, but as soon as they get in the government, that's exactly what they do!
I would give you 50 thumbs up for that statement if I could. Excellent observation.
True facts
The commandments love your neighbor as yourself,
don't hurt other as you don't want to be hurt. Is a goldden rule.
It's found in both Matthew 7:12 and Luke 6:31. Jesus said this Golden Rule “sums up the Law and the Prophets.” The verse in the Bible, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” is commonly known as The Golden Rule. It's found in both Matthew 7:12 and Luke 6:31.

Thats pretty funny.. Commandments 5.0?
@@rescuebabybirdsThe church never changed the sabbath. The church merely said we should worship on the day of resurrection, which turns out is a Sunday. The church also didn't "delete" any commandments. The first commandment (don't worship idols and only worship God) is one commandment prohibiting idolatry, not two separate things. Besides, the commandments said don't worship idols, not don't bow to statues. An idol is a false god, not a statue. Power and pleasure are idols for some people, but they has no statue image.
Which 10 commandments indeed. There are two different sets in the old testament of the protestant bible alone!
@flintwestwood3596
Please review what you wrote... Example 1 - statues are ALSO idols. As, folks built statues to resemble their idol to BOW for worship. Do not try to make a guy who has clearly been around longer than you look dumb. Folks can see right through it.
Example 2 - Ethiopian bible teaches 13 months of the year. So yes, the Sabbath was absolutely changed. Do more research, I say this to help you not look like a fool. You are good with words, but when you don't know as much as you think you do, it really shows.
Example 3 - power and pleasure are SINS not idols. An idol is literally something put in place of the one true God, not ideas or moral short comings...
@@jill6979 Please take your own advice and read your bible: God commanded Moses to make a bronze serpent to cure snake bites - a graven image. God's not crazy, He knows an idol is a false god, not a statue. He's not going to contradict Himself. Your definition of idol is found neither in the bible nor the English language. What an Ethiopian bible may teach about calendars does not change the fact that the church never changed the sabbath, just to worship on day of Jesus' resurrection - Catholic church left documents explaining what they did and why. Power and pleasure are not sins - God granted power to King David, power to serve God. God gave worldly goods to Old Testament servants like Job to reward them. Worshiping these things makes them idols, as I said earlier, to some people. Have more humility when you see you're wrong and don't be so dishonest twisting things just because you're too scared to face the truth.

This goes against the 1st ammendment. What they should do is teach the bill of rights in every school.
There is no separation of church and state in the constitution. It was a metaphor. Anyone who thinks it is in the constitution and not a metaphor needs to learn what a metaphor is.
"A religion that has to force people to put up a poster to prove its legitimacy is a dead religion... My concern is that, instead of bringing a bill that will feed the hungry, clothe the naked, heal the sick, we're instead mandating that people put up a poster." - James Talerico, Texas State Representative on a bill to put Ten Commandments in classrooms
Name the religion.
Is this supposed to be some gotcha lone commenter? Because it isn’t
@@brentjones1660 Oh, but it is. Because it shows that your Ten Commandments poster is nothing more than a virtue signal. Instead of doing what the Bible actually preaches that you do (i.e. feed the hungry), you just want to put your religion on display for everyone to see. Coincidentally, this sort of public display of faith is something the Bible actually says NOT to do (Matthew 6:5-15).
@@Klako-ls6yt I was talking to altair, I was on mobile.
Although I am a Christian, and don't oppose the 10 Commandments being in classrooms, the fact that it is a law now violates the US Constitution First Amendment. This law will eventually be overturned by the Federal or Supreme Court.
I an also a Christian love the 10 commandments but this is not freedom of religion when atheist does even follow them when people follow old 10 commandments and there are people who believe in something. Public schools and public tax money should never go to religion schools or religion put in schools it killed be left up to Sunday school and at home

Which version do you support? Each Christian religion has a different set of commandments and each follows their own reprint of the Bible. So who's commandments would you follow?

That doesn't mean that religion should be taught in schools, even though that's the way their "God" is pleased. It can be just as real to them. Hence, separation of church and state.

Ive been reading all these comments stating seperation of church and state isnt in the constitution. Not sure where this misinformation came from. Anyways here you go: Everson v. Board of Education (1947), Lemon v. Kurtzman (1971), Engel v. Vitale (1962), Lynch v. Donnelly (1984), Employment Division v. Smith (1990), Santa Fe Independent School District v. Doe (2000), Van Orden v. Perry (2005) and McCreary County v. ACLU of Kentucky (2005). Establishment clause in the first amendment has protected separation of church and state ever since the surpreme court decision in 1947 and since then has been reaffirmed by 7 other separate cases. Its ok to be wrong though just remember to educate yourself!
If you weren’t ignorant or biased, you’d realize that the founding fathers often held church services on government property and openly endorsed Christianity as critical for the nation’s success. So they would obviously disagree with your wrong interpretation of the establishment clause.
@@rh9626 Well seeing how Ive the only one to use facts, not opinions wouldnt you be the biased one? I cited 7 surpreme court landmar....anyways forget it. Anyways here we go round 2! Thomas Jefferson specifically mentioned separation of church and state. Hosting church services on government property has never been illegal? Openly endorsing christianity as nations success....sure whatever they still never legislated anything about that into the constitution. They did create the first amendment as most of the initial settlers fled religious persecution from Europe and by doing so created the establishment clause due to the non separated european church and state trainwreck that was called the CATHOLIC CHURCH.
Regardless Im guessing you didnt do any research from the above cases, if you did you'd know aclu vs mcreary was literally the 10 commandments being posted in government buildings. Anyways when this law gets smacked down as unconstitutional Ill be here for ya :)

People are against the 10 commandments in classrooms, but are totally fine with rainbow flags promoting homosexuality hanging in classrooms. Make it make sense.

LGBTQ is not a religion. It is not a global conspiracy of supervillains. It's not the Illuminati or aliens in trenchcoats. It's just people.
Personally, I don't think pride flags should be there. But there is nothing wrong with homosexuality. On the other hand the Bible has passeges like Numbers 31 14-18 that are just evil. So if one of them should be pushed in school it's not the Bible. It's actually kinda clear how it makes sense.

@@todadams6533 it doesn't, as a gay person who wants to be a teacher. I completely agree.
Honestly school is the place to teach subjects like math, reading, science, history, etc. It's not the place to preach beliefs. Parents in general don't wanna see religious propaganda or a pride flag on the wall of their kindergartener's classroom. They want to see educational materials, motivational posters, their kids' schoolwork, and little crayon drawings. If parents want their child to have specific beliefs, they should teach them that at home.

Good let’s do that in every state.
Religiously-based psychological abuse of children can involve using teachings to subjugate children through fear, or indoctrinating the child in the beliefs of their particular religion whilst suppressing other perspectives.
Yes, religious indoctrination can be a form of psychological abuse, especially when it's used to control children. Indoctrination is a form of manipulation that involves causing someone to respond in a way that serves the manipulator's needs. When used against children, religious indoctrination can involve:
Suppressing other perspectives
Indoctrinating children in their religion's beliefs while suppressing other perspectives can prevent them from forming their own morality and belief system.
Using fear
Using fear, such as the concept of Hell, to control children can be traumatic.
Shaming
Religious abuse can involve using faith or beliefs to shame someone against their will
