    Dear Dr. Peter, today is a first day when I’ve discovered you. I’m a childhood trauma survivor , my entire life has collapsed with the pain I can’t process within myself . By watching you the way you speak and treat us my heart feels your good intentions and dedication to make us whole again. Thank you 🙏🥲love you 🥲🤎

      I have "The body keeps the score" too.
      These guys are MY heroes, the work that Levin, Van der Kolk and Walker has done has had a tremendous value for so many of us.❤

    Inspiring talk- thank you all. Your work is so important- as I know the trauma from birth, as a first child to a holocaust's survivor, my father, who came to Israel in 1944 (alone with his brother, ages13; 11),,, and lost his son, my brother on 1982 at the horrible Lebanon war. And I'm a peace activist, as I believe that human rights is for all of us and peace is the only true answer to our wounds. Hope to get a treatment one day by one of you and spread the method/assist others.

    18:45 it’s called transcendence. It isn’t healing because it bypasses the very time we began the trauma journey and also the power of the present moment of being in our body. As an adult we earn a breadth of experience that leads to understanding. But as a child, we live deep in our experiences, not our heads. Healing equates to honoring the depth of experience of ourselves as children but also knowing that with the breadth of experience we will never have the actual initial overwhelm that the child experiences instead the overwhelm is due to not being IN the experience now due yo original ‘unresolved’ trauma. It may feel just as overwhelming because is it a mirror to that early overwhelm. As an adult, the breadth of our experience tells us that things are temporary and that we have choices. Everything after childhood in body and thought is reflecting back to what we took away as functional and empowered versus what we did not. The healthy adult can emotionally and bodily not step into states of trauma regardless of what they may experience. The key is to have become empowered in mind and body. This is quite the feat for most human beings. The child is father of the man. We don’t simply overwrite the script. We have to become as little children in that open and experiencing way. Why are some people very good in emergencies? Why are some people very good most of the time but feel overwhelmed when life events become extremely emotional? Or maybe that is their operating system most of the time. I agree, it’s the unexplored feelings of overwhelm from childhood, it doesn’t even have to be things that most of us would describe as traumatizing. Being able to have fun is a sign of health. Some of the pleasure is being able to experience ourselves in ways we did not feel safe doing as children. A healthy mind and body means we don’t devalue our bodies, our minds, our experiences, our childhoods, none of it. We enter into an exciting path of unique discovery which leads us to an embrace of our own uniqueness, not just experiences, but our completely unique self that is like no other and to relish all of it. I think about my own life as one who asked for compassion very young for the abuser (not forgiveness) a way to love no matter what but not to accept the wrongs being committed. That is unusual I know, especially to remember. But it is the same place people come to in health when they heal. People tend towards either forgiveness or retaliation and sometimes both. Neither brings one to health. But these are the models we have had for millennia and ones it is taking a long time to shed. I appreciate you Peter. I see a continuing struggle in you to take extraordinary precautions to do no harm to yourself and others. There is a sweeter spot coming, I predict. 🙏

    Does the vagus nerve have relation to PNES symptoms or "Kundalini awakening?" I'm experiencing shaking and spontaneous dancing and singing and then just shakes and jerks at times too. I've read it's related to trauma release but has been going on for almost two years now.

    I have CPTSD and fibromyalgia.
    An ex called it "brain bleedings", when he trigged the anxiety and trauma responses.
    i felt it was too disrespectful to continue the relationship with him.
    The irony is, he's studying to become a behavioural therapist.

    Can yoga as a path of healing lead to the trauma be over?

      Yoga is a great path to combine with this information. If a lot of stuff comes up this practice helps the body from becoming overwhelmed. Sri M is a great yogi, with great humility. Trauma takes time to release. Listen to these two experts theyre a wealth of experience & guidance.
