- Pakistan is in the middle of political chaos - and one man is at the center of it all. Former Prime Minister Imran Khan was ousted last year in a no-confidence vote, but polls suggest he remains the country’s most popular political leader.
Within a year of being removed from office, 70-year-old Khan has survived an assassination attempt and faces dozens of new charges ranging from corruption, terrorism to sedition. The current government has branded the popular politician known for his philanthropy and cricket career as a "militant" and attempted to arrest him using excessive force, while tear gassing, attacking and arresting his supporters. Khan believes the charges against him are political persecution tactics meant to distract him from campaigning for elections due this year.
VICE World News’ Isobel Yeung sat down with Khan at his home in Lahore on March 6, 2023.

A lot of what he said is true. Life in a third world country is completely different from the west. Some countries don’t have the privilege of having strong opinions
True so true. I have friends in third world. I make more money in one month than they do together in three. Of course in their country the money goes far enough but at the end of the day, they are playing on the same economic chessboard we are all playing on
As long as he does NOT have an orange taint!

@@toasteddingus6925 @Gonzalo Carillo : The third and second worlds don't exist anymore. I think you mean "poor" or "developing" countries. The third world was a concept from the Capitalist-Communist-Nonaligned Cold war. Non-aligned nations were the 3rd world.

He is truthful and honest.
"If I wake up and there was no challenge for me, I will think its the end of my life" powerful message from Imran Khan.
"Poor countries don't have the luxury to criticize. Unfortunately, rich countries are also selective."
This is one of the most honest and practically candid words I have heard from a leader of a nation. I would support Imran if I was an educated Pakistani.
So you're illiterate Pakistani?
Imran Khan while Pakistan prime minister could have remained silent on China's repression of Uyghurs (and ethnic Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, Xinjiang Hui, and Utsuls) if he thinks his hands are tied politically, but instead he went out of his way to openly endorse China's oppression of Muslims in June 2021.
Then in March 2022 Imran Khan made the absurd statement that "China follows the teachings of the Prophet [Muhammad]". The CCP which is an atheist regime that has persecuted Muslims for its entire existence, and which has only gotten several times worse under Xi Jinping, is apparently following the teachings of the Prophet!
And you wonder why he's been humiliated by Allah ever since. The guy is living through purgatory on earth right now because he isn't even fit for martyrdom.
Educated Pakistanis know he is an imposter. He has a long history. Of girlfriends, womanizing, illegitimate daughter, mistresses. He hasn't changed. He uses islam to get votes. But practices debauchery in private

The piece looks good overall but a few observations:
1: Imran Khan has a huge female support and party workers but it seems quite deliberate that VICE chose to start the video as if it was some misogynist male dominated group. I couldn't see the female representation in the video and since the platform has a global reach, it does give a negative vibe.
2: The reporter insinuates that there was no *evidence* that suggests that ruling party was behind it. Clearly, VICE has not followed the developments and the cover up that took place right after the attack. Not even an FIR has been registered because there was the name of ISI's officials and the ruling party's interior minister. Also, it would've been great if the current government's attitude towards media was given a space in the video. One of the most popular investigative journalist, Arshad Sharif was butchered in Kenya as he ran away from the country after facing humiliation by the government agencies. Who was he criticising? VICE fails to mention.
3: The voiceover stretches the answers of Imran Khan by adding additional information like 'sees himself as champion of women's rights' which he clearly did not say.
While adding creative music does elevate the videos of VICE (and I love them), this piece is more like a balancing act. The voiceover has information that deviates from what is being said in the video, maybe because the pre-determined answer did not meet the expectations.

Being a Bharatiya, i am an ardent follower of Mr.Handsome Khan,he is the real deal for Pakistan. He is the only ray of hope ,Pakistan has left. #Ptizondabad#handsomekhan#imranpakistan
Imran nailed this interview....he had a near perfect answer for every question
true, I was actually impressed.
Yeah, usually people get anxious from these kinds of hardline questions, accusations et cetera. He took it like a champ and explained everything in a very believable manner.
@@lawrencefrost9063 agreed 💯

The interviewer seemed to have a preconceived notion of what is actually happening. Without really knowing and she looked foolish trying assume he was responsible for corruption hkmself.
I liked this interview, it was direct, tough, but fair and Imran Khan had the chance to reply to everything Isobel said.
Is like president lula lie in name of power.
Will Imran khan talk to reporter from country who conspired against him?
The question who disturbe , because pakistan have partinership with Russia and china two countrys corrupt. Who persecution muslim people,in have concentration camps of reeducation.

@@floridahrrcn he had.. Becky from CNN, VOA, and other media outlets around the world! Also, he had balls to demonstrate against Donald Lou on US national TV and asked for his upfront removal from foreign services...
Wow, what a man, what a charisma. He is crystal clear in his mind while responding on rote issues, most western interviewers usually pose, for example, his not siding so called and selective western human rights activists and feminists who constantly question him about women's condition in Afghanistan, his Russia visit, less women in his cabinet, banning talk shows or arresting journalists etc. His responses are honest, practical and bold. So lucky to be alive in his era and see a real hero struggling for the freedom of his country❤
I think he is one of the most honest guys. I didn't even know he was a babe magnet but obviously he doesn't care that glamour and put himself into danger. Why would he do that. The problem is I don't think he can do anything without compromising a lot to world's most powerful. But he was honest, also he cannot control a lot of things about arrests etc... dealing with army is gonna be at least a decade long challenge, if he can stay in power.
I have to say, Imran Khan's reasoning is actually spot on.
That's why the West scared of him. They don't want an educated, self made honest people's leader leading Pakistan.
Honestly , very well spoken
This man is a Playboy and his dirty audio calls got leaked. Pakistan is a bankrupt country. It's economy got collapsed. Pakistanis are finding it hard to obtain basic survival commodities. The whole of Pakistan went dark without any electricity for a while. That's how much of a failed nation it is. It's a karma since Pakistan funds terrorism. They are the ones who protected Osama Bin Landen for your knowledge. Only fanatics find such a failed leader to be interesting. Minorities are treated poorly in Pakistan. Only muslims can "survive" in Pakistan. People who belong to any other religion will either get forcefully converted or get killed in Pakistan.
The main reason for Pakistan to not progress and stay politically unstable is military establishment. Every time Pakistan gets a stable government who tries to take some corrective measures, military generals jump in to save the status-quo. Its unfortunate but true and hence the cycle of turmoil goes on.
As an Indian I don't know whether imran Khan will be good for Pakistan or bad but one thing is for sure that he is the only leader in the history of Pakistan who can challenge the establishment and bring a new order

As a former US Marine who has deployed and lived in every continent and has learned to look at things through a non-Western POV, I can say I’m more inclined to agree with Imran Kahn. When will the west realise that you can’t tell other countries how to run their society. You can only truly be a feminist in a first world country where you have the luxury to think about all the little micro aggressions. There's not a single answer that you can hold against him. Each and every one of those is backed by sound logic. What a man. Born to be a leader
