"Please Don't Kill Him..."
Writers: Hold my Black Veil
What’s even crazier about this movie is that it’s one of the very “bad” movies that gets better with age. Is rocky 4 silly? Campy? Stupid? Yes! But we love it for that! The special effects are great! Awesome montages! Memorable lines! The actors are clearly giving it all they got so every scene is full of nonstop energy. And the sequel, which is outta place, ends up being one of the most consequential stories within the franchise-something that dosnt happen with other franchises
React to Rocky V, Rocky Balboa, Creed, Creed 2, and Creed 3 Final trailer.
Thank you!
Watch Rocky 6 aka, the last Rocky movie called "Rocky Balboa"
@@robp525 I went to the movies the first day it came out. I am a huge Rocky fan. What's your point?
Drago has around 6 lines in the entire movie and is still one of the most memorable figures in the series.
Couldn’t agree more with you.
Agreed
It helps that he's played by a statuesque, mega-athletic supergenius with an abundance of charisma.
@@cjames1915That was Clubber Lang, not Drago.
I mean he was a roided out, USSR propaganda Soldier so of course he's going to be memorable
Tony Burton is so good in this part as Rocky and Apollo's trainer, Duke. You really feel the emotion behind all of his words. "He's not a machine! He's a man!", is one of the best lines in a sports movie ever.
I love Duke man, such an underrated character that brings one to tears near the end talking about how he raised Appollo as his son..
Though she got very little screen time, Apollo's wife and her reactions during the fight really cranked up the drama. We can imagine that she knows better than anyone how much he can take, and her plea to stop the fight is really gut wrenching, just like Apollo's trainer with tears in his eyes.
I remember the shock I felt when I first saw Apollo's death in this film. How many of you felt the same way back then?
I was ok with it, because of how racist he and the movie were against russians. I mean i guess that was the right reaction, history has not been kind to the anti-russian hatred of the 80s, it turns out the US was the worse side in the cold war.
Tha'ts because naive Americans did not understand that the Soviet Union is their real enemy which want to destroy them all
@@emilianosintarias7337🙄 clown.
Me.
Man, Drago is freaking terrifying on that final fight. Specially towards the end when his face is covered in blood. Nightmare fuel. Props to Dolph
Yeah, for a guy who could've legit been a male model because he was so handsome, in all that makeup he looked damn ugly!
Fun Fact, the Russian blonde woman is this movie Brigette Nielson was actually Sylvester Stallone's wife in real life
Fun fact? I honestly thought that was common knowledge.
Love how excited she got seeing Rocky start to win.
Yeah I love that too.
Mike Tyson once said, "Anybody can be confident until they get hit in the mouth". That's the reality of the fights. That also seems to be the constant theme of the Rocky series. Every fighter, no matter how confident, has an ounce of fear. That one punch could end it all. Or a career of punches can ruin a life. Which sadly was the fate of the Greatest Ali.
I think Tyson is credited as saying "Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth."
I don’t know about that.
Eh, Tyson was in Rocky 3. Yes I know he wouldn't come along until 4-5 years later but Clubber Lang was just like Mike Tyson to a (Mr) T.
@@JohnSmith-zw8vp Clubber Lang was a wild swinging brawler. Mike Tyson was not. Mike was an avid student of the game. He studied film relentlessly. He was a skilled boxer that was usually a step or two ahead of his opponents. Polar opposittes.
@viceman8152 actually it was "Punthed in da mouth"
Fun Movie Trivia: The robot was included in the movie because Stallone saw it at a party. It was created by International Robotics Inc. It later toured with James Brown, who sings at Apollo's fight. During filming of the final fight, Stallone told Dolph Lundgren to punch him for real to make it more intense, Dolph punched Stallone so hard in the chest, his heart got slammed against the breastbone and started swelling, Stallone spent 4 days in intensive care. The scenes in Russia were filmed in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The fight in "Moscow, Russia" was filmed at the Agrodome in Vancouver, Canada. All the "Russians" in the crowd and the military members were all Canadian extras who probably didn't understand a word of what the Russian ring announcer was saying.
Holy shit I never knew that.
For the last 39 years I thought they were in Russia, I feel conned now haha.
Vanessa's reactions are so good, some reactors just sit there and say nothing, others yap yap yap all the time and miss half the important lines in the movies.
Vanessa has the exact right balance.
Great reaction, Vanessa. I laughed especially hard at the small, but very relevant, detail that Rocky and Adrian left their kid behind on the other side of the planet in the care of an 80s robot. lol
Ikr😂😂😂
It was a Robot, but Paulie turned it into a Ho-bot 😂
I still love the theory that no one told Apollo's actor about the robot and that his reaction when he sees it roll in to get Paulie his next beer is genuine.
@@OnceUponaReaction 27:44 chains wrapped around car tyres are very common in snowy areas, the cars weight makes the chain links dig into the snow and ice allowing better traction and stops the wheels from slipping.
Yes, the ‘rowboat’ was looking after the kids. 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
The cars in Russia had tire chains...people in places that get a lot of snow put those on to help driving in snow.
When Apollo yelled “ No “ in the ring I got emotional from that :(
"This is more than a boxing match."
You hit the nail on the head.
You could say Two worlds collide
Rival nations
It's a primitive clash
Venting years of frustrations.
Thank you for having the best, and careful editing I've seen of youtube reactors. I love when you make commentary you pause and then pick up where you left off where we don't miss anything. The overwhelming majority of youtubers don't do that and it is annoying. Once again...THANK YOU!
27:50 Those are chains wrapped around the tires to increase traction in the snow. Probably not very common in Colombia. Even in snowy countries like Russia, US and Canada they've become less common because they do damage to the tires. It's more cost effective to buy specialty snow tires than put chains on regular tires.
Indeed. They are still used however in remote arears where roads are not as well plowed as in major cities; but we are talking extremely rural or mountainous regions.
Dolph (the actor who played Drago) was so good in real life, he fought Stallone for real for a few seconds (Stallone wanted some realistic footage for the fight scenes) and sent Stallone to the hospital.
1 of 2 films for Stallone in 1985.
Along with Rambo:First Blood part 2.
The highest-grossing film of the franchise and considered the hardest film that he had ever worked as actor and filmmaker at that time.
Also 1 of 2 films for Dolph Lundgren (Drago) in 1985.
The other was a Bond film, "A View to a Kill"
The inspiration was one of the greatest boxing rivalries ever, Joe Louis vs. Max Schmeling.
2 matches (1936, 1938) took place between these two and was concurrent with WW2's rising.
Louis was Black and American.
Schmeling was German.
The controversy of nations in conflict (Us against Them) was there as it was omnipotent in the mid-1980 (Cold War).
The most unexpected story planned for the franchise.
Stallone had a few different ideas for what he wanted to do.
Overall in the outcome of Apollo Creed's character (his most regretful).
There was an director's cut released in 2021.
Some things were different while it remained the same movie.
It is worth the viewing and you'll definitely be surprised.
But other than that, this was a sign of the times for film and the culture.
In fact, some say it was the closest to the feeling of seeing the Cold War's end (ironically).
Rocky V is not liked as much as the others.
But it does play a part in Balboa's growth, post-boxing.
This was the first Rocky movie I saw in my life.Your reactions added even more enjoyment to it. Thanks for continuing with this franchise
Loved it. It's like I'm showing my sister these movies for the first time. You're great. Thank you
Speaking of Dolph Lundgren as a super soldier, you really should watch the action movie “Universal Soldier” with him and Jean Claude Van Damme. I love Lundgren’s character in that movie. You can tell he was really having fun with it. Also, have you seen the Hugh Jackman boxing movie “Real Steel”? If not, I highly recommend it. Great reaction as alway Vanessa.
I'm all 👂;)
90% of this movie was shot in the Los Angeles region including the fight scenes, and Central US. Not once did production sit foot in Las Vegas or The Soviet Union.
Another fun reaction, thank you! And, if you continue through the Creed series, you will find out who won the third fight between Apollo and Rocky!
Been waiting for this reaction after the last ones :) Needed this tonight! Thank you x
She’s so adorable I’m barely watching the reaction cause she’s so beautiful 😂😍😍
Hola from Chicago!! 👋😁.. I'm a new subscriber and absolutely love your videos and movie reactions!!.. I'm glad you enjoyed the Rocky movies I can honestly say that I still get so pumped up evertime I watch them even though I have watched them so many times.. I wanted to point out the amazing soundtracks from these movies, I love to work out to the Rocky music it is so energizing to hear and keeps me going strong!!.. I especially love the tracks from Rocky 4, the digital sound is pure 80s music symphony!!.. Thank you so much for posting your videos and I look forward to seeing more in the future.. 👍👍
Soo animated and full of energy! Perfect for a Rocky reaction! 🤣🥊
You so remind me of me back in the day when I first saw Rock movies especially this one. I get suck in and emotional and pumped up especially in the music training montages. Thanks, for the reaction young lady.
One day after filming fight scenes with Dolph Lundgren, Stallone had to be hospitalized because of some punches he took to the chest. It did something to his heart.
I swear to God my all time favorite reaction, I come back to this whenever I need motivation
Awesome reaction and love your editing 😁
Love this movie especially when I saw it in the theater when I was 10
It has a fantastic sound track. The small farm where Rocky lived and trained was in Jackson Hole Wyoming and Grand Teton National Park was used for filming many of the outdoor sequences in the Soviet Union.
For me the coolest thing is that the fight between Rocky and Drago was actually filmed in my home city of Vancouver BC at The PNE Agrodome
It was transformed into a Russian arena, complete with Soviet trophy cases, actors playing soldiers many local extras dressed as Russians in the stands. Fun fact: Stallone was married to actress Brigitte Nielsen who played Drago's wife.
Your reaction to round 2 is what I’ve felt for the past 30 years watching this movie! 🤣❤️
You deserve many more subscribers and views. I hope RUclips's algorithm recommends your channel to more people.
One of my childhood movies - I know the script backwards!
Brilliant fight!
Drago´s story is important in ´Creed II´ if you´re interested. A decent effort but will never have as much heart!
I loved her reaction to the final fight, she was fully invested in it. This is my favorite Rocky movie.
Stallone did such a great directing job in this one.and it still holds up as timeless no matter how old it is
Someone did the math on this movie and figured it was something like 1/3 montage lol
You're amazing❤ this reaction and just you being you
I have so much fun with your reactions you are so funny and nice you have a new subscriber from buenos aires argentina 🇦🇷🇦🇷👍👍👏👏
Best. Reactor. Ever! 👌Everyone needs a Vanessa in their corner cheering them on! 👍Great reaction as always, love the emotion! 😊
Dolph Lundgren makes a great! villan as Ivan Drago thats why this film works. Rocky 4 is probably the best in my opinion 👍 🙂
Esta película me cambio la vida. Después del engaño de mi ex, me puse a ver esta peli y fui al gym😅😭 ahora me siento bien y pues cabeza pa arriba 🙏🏽
no pain!!!
‘The woman was too stunned to speak’ 😂 great editing
Adrian is the real mvp in all of these Rocky movies she's been part of it 🙌 👌 👏
Even though Adrian is a fictional character, I think she may be the greatest wife of all time. Everything that would have ran a woman away from her husband in today's day and age happened to rocky and no matter what she still stayed by his side and supported him 100%.
@@mr_m4613 I can understand that I really do but without Adrian I don't know what Rocky would have been in all of the Rocky movies that most people remember very well but let's be honest Adrian made Rocky into a real better man a better boxer and a better fighter too so no matter what but at least she fell in love with a true lover and a fighter that's why Adrian became a fighter of her own to motivate Rocky even more I definitely wish we all could have a motivational quotes speech and speakers like Adrian like for real for real she was Worthy of it all no doubt about it
Pauli
@@mr_m4613 greatest wife ever.
Couldn’t agree more.
Love it when you have all in with that Rocky vs Drago fight :)
Your enthusiastic reaction was awesome! Very fun to watch.
Dragon’s wife said “ I’m afraid for my husbands life” yet he literally killed Apollo and she smiled when we was falling to the ground
I saw this in the movie theater on Christmas day the year it came out. I was 13 at the time. When rocky cuts Drago the whole theater erupted in cheers and applause. I've never seen a reaction like that in a theater before or ever since. It was an extremely awesome moment
Wow, was it Christmas Day when it came out ?
I remember seeing it very soon after it came out, thinking back now I vaguely remember it, I think I went on Boxing Day or the 27th. I was 12 years old.
It was released on November 27 in the US.@@RITWINS
Always love this channel, the one and only😀
Felt like I was watching for the first time, thanks, was alot of fun
Apollo wasnt killed by Drago , he was killed by his own arrogance.
45:04 "This franchise keeps getting better!".....If she only knew what awaited her next :( LOL
Thank you for posting this; I'm a huge Rocky fan...and I appreciate when the younger generation....I'm 52, but I look 30...go back and watch the Rocky movies, cuz this was all before the Creed franchise. These movies are so emotional and the parallel of the Rocky movies/boxing and life are amazing. While boxing is a violent and dangerous contact sport, it is also beautiful, because its not just aimlessly punching and and hoping a good shot lands or looking for a knockout. The sport encompasses, speed, timing, distance, strategy, heart, and is actually more mental than it is physical. And what I love about the sport now-a-days is that the female pugilist are getting the recognition, just due, and paydays, they deserve. Anyway, I love your reactions, and your cute accent. Hopefully, I did offend you regarding your accent. Si, te ofendi, por favor que me perdones, no fue intencional. I implore you to watch this fight, which was a highly anticipated fight that lived up to the hype...both of these ladies are/were amazing and represented womens boxing...and boxing in general and was a Fight of the Year candidate. It was held in New York, at the legendary Madison Square Garden, Serrano (Puerto Rican0 and Taylor (Irish) both had their fans which made the arena so electric. Please watch this: ruclips.net/video/M7GBXJoIFuw/видео.html
Love your reaction to this awesome rocky sequel childhood memories.
This is such an amazing film and with this amazing reaction it really enhances the enjoyment of all of us that saw it for the first time
Love how much you get into these.
Hablo español pero me encantan tus reacciones! ❤️💖 Mucho éxito en tu canal!
Your reaction to the final fight.... I just saw myself! ❤❤❤
you are so adorable❤ and I hope this sponsor redeemed that unfortunate moment you had to go through with all that hacker stuff. You can pull this off without anything especially 1980s robot😂😂
The best movie in the franchise. I love the Montage in this movie Hearts On Fire, Fun facts: During the filming of this movie Stallone asked Dolph to really spar with him. Stallone ended up in the hospital cause Dolph punch him so hard he moved his heart . Another fun fact Brigitte Nielsen the actress who plays Drago wife was the real life girlfriend of Stallone during the time of the filming. :) Dolph Languren movies like The Punisher 1989, Univiersal Solider, Showdown In Little Tokyo , I Come In Peace, Also Rocky helped stop the cold war :)
I always love watching rocky 4 it's my favorite movie with rocky goes to war in Russia
"You see?! You see?!! He's not a machine, he's a MAN!"
Loved your reaction to this... subbed!
27:44 The wheels have chains on them for better grip on the road which is very icy
15:43 "Man, please don't kill him!"
Yeah, about that....
Love your reaction ❤ Done subscribed! 👍
Awesome reaction!!!!❤
I've been looking forward to this! Ding...Ding.
To this day, Dolph Lundgen's Ivan Drago is one of the most intimidating figures in cinema history. More Terminator esq than the Terminator. Watching his entrance to the final fight and seeing his frame, this size and his stare, gives you shivers like damn this boy is gonna kill something.
"I must break you."
"Fck you."
I loved that 😂
😂😂😂when you put it like that.... 🙈🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I hate that 😤😂
@@OnceUponaReaction i think you should respect the terminator 😎
Love your reaction,I can tell you really love this movie ❤️
Really enjoyed your review
When I was a professor, writing an online course in sports law, I had my students watch the Creed-Drago fight and identify things that happened that could be grounds for lawsuits Mary Ann Creed could file.
All these years later I take issue with critics say rocky stopped being relatable when he became rich and famous. At the end of the day his heart of a champion is why we love him no matter what his Financial status is
Hi! I really like your passionate and emotional reactions.I keep waiting for new reactions.)
"Rocky is right. You need to learn to turn it off."
"NOTHING IS OVER!!! NOTHING!!! You don't just turn it off!" - First Blood
The woman that is playing Drago's wife, Bridgette Neilsen, was Sylvester Stallon'' aka Rocky at the time of this movie.
They put chains on their tires to get better grip on the snow. 🙂
Another awesome, excellent, outstanding Rocky reaction
This is one of my favorites in the Rocky series. 🥰
This one is my favorite. I love the story, characters, music, all of it.
I love your reactions 😍
Tu reacción me hizo llorar jovencita! Muy bien hecho!
I love this reaction 🥰
Great reaction 🥊🥊
Yay for Rocky!
i have gone through the rocky series with you, as with others, i love your passion to a legendary send of films, so simple but so powerful, I am not the biggest fan of rocky 5, i hope you continue to the end, because favourite is rocky balboa, but thats what makes this so good, everone has there own favourites
27:43 The tire has snow chains on it.
If only every girl I've ever shown this movie to reacted the same way as you did. This is my all time favorite movie
Those are chains on the tires ....places that have a lot of snow in the winters require drivers to wear chains for better traction
RIP Carl Weathers
Great reaction. I remember when this movie came out. It is my absolute favorite movie in the franchise. It mirrored what was happening in the world. Glasnoes was taking place in Russia and the tensions between it and the US were starting to subside followed by the colasp of the Soviet Union a couple of years later. Sad that tensions are high again.
"HE'S CUT! HE'S CUT! THE RUSSIAN IS HURT!" " YOU SEE! HES NOT A MACHINE! HE'S MAN!! NOW GO OUT THERE AND HURT HIM!!!" Duke literally is the heart of this movie. Chills everytime
I totally agree!
Dios mio mi amiga. Your corazon, relax 😀 Great reaction! 👍
This is the only Rocky film to have a lot of montages, which is actually great.
They put chains on the wheels for better traction in the snow. If you drive in higher elevation in the snow, like mountains in the winter, you'll see signs, at least in the US and probably Canada, you will see signs saying chains required.
