I bought one of their shirts that night that was actually his Dads old carpet laying business button up shirts with old paint stains on them with fat wreck chords and zero down logo screen printed on the front. I got into Strung Out I think in 97.....haven't ever lost interest, and this clip shows why - they haven't lost that same tenacity in two decades, and keep on getting better! Absolutely mingin to see them in March here in Australia touring T.A.D. Fuck yeah, S.O for life! Also - no cunce with their phones out. Brilliant. What a time to be alive.
Considering that in the thank you notes of Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues,(the LP was released in 1996) Blink (as they were so-named back then) are one of the bands Strung Out makes mention of, you should probably do more research before making such a silly statement. They toured with Blink quite frequently around this era...
I've got to say, there's a ton. I could give you a list of 100+ active bands. The problem is that this type of music isn't really popular anymore. The bigger bands like Strung Out can still pack a venue, but a local show doesn't bring many people out.

This is old school. Love these songs and old albums, before fat was good too. But I've never seen them play any of the first album live. Been a fan since Teenage wasteland blues, 1st time ever heard one song, I thought. Every song from them must be great. There is no way they ha e talent and skill like that and put out something that sucks. Impossible. I was right. They are among the very best with Lagwagon, Rancid and others. I've seen Strung out Multiple times, whenever they come to Texas baby.
At this time i was really into the whole skatepunk thing, the vandals, nofx, guttermouth, afi, fyp, white kaps, millencolin, pennywize, Mr. T experience, therapy? Etc and i heard alot about strung out and heard them on compilations, but i just never got around to listening to their albums or really getting into them, and i feel stupid cause now as a grown up i realize strung out was probably the best one

All kinds of stuff 80's-90s Post industrial like front 242, skinny puppy, front line assembly, velvet acid christ, moev... is probably my favorite genre but I like so much stuff i wouldnt really know where to begin... Dreampop like Ariel pink, beach fossils, wild nothing, the drums john maus, diiv.... Black metal like leviathan and xasthur, post punk/new wave like new order, joy division, the smiths, the cure, omd... lots of rarities, the vibrators, all/descendents, the replacements, gg allin... And I worship bowie... I could go on and on

Ive been exploring music for the last 20 years, so yeah I've found a lot of remarkable stuff the most people havnt heard and those some of the.. most noteworthy, if you're a music explorer and you havnt heard any of the stuff i listed, you should at least givem a listen, you might be happy with what you find... but make sure you listen to their best stuff... (Like every band) Not every album or song is good
