    Hello lovelies,
I bought this 1940s vanity a few weeks ago and wanted to restore it to its original lustre. I have been looking for a fabric vanity for years and was so excited when I discovered this one for sale on Facebook Marketplace. I purchased it for 80 dollars which seems like a reasonable price, in my opinion. When I brought the vanity home, I realized that the fabric was filthy, and I knew I had to clean it or remove it to replace it with new material. I ended up removing the fabric and washing it to remove all of the stains. I then stapled it back on a decorated it with all of my vintage cosmetics.

Wow, that fabric looks as good as new after being washed. Shame it couldn't be reattached via Velcro to make it easier to keep clean 🙄☹️ but it looks amazing though. It's great to see something being sold onto a new home and so lovingly restored and given a new lease of life, instead of being scrapped

Bring back the dressing table into the lady's boudior I say! This was a great video and you clearly put a lot of effort into the restoration. I am lucky enough to have my great grandmother's dressing table to make up at and do my hair. Every woman should have one.

You did a great job- you're more patient than I am lol 😆! It's beautiful 😍❤💕! Enjoy using it for your dressing table. There's so much furniture and fixtures now mass produced, and nothing lasts as well as the furnishings of yesteryear, ever notice that? And the landfills are in no shape to acquire more. Reduce, reuse, recycle ♻️♥! And this is just an example of what can be done, with just a little bit of chic ness, glam, and a touch of Vintage love!! Great post!! 💅 💄👗🥻 cute cat 🐈😻!!

I think I'd had the entire piece of furniture painted a soft shade or gilded it. The kidney-shape as such is a reminder beautiful enough to bring back fond memories of olden glamour. Add the mirror, and hey presto. But it was wonderful watching the whole make-over of the piece. Thank you.

That is gorgeous! 😍🥰 If I have my own house and able to spread out my stuff easily, I would want my bedroom to look vintage. I love old vintage furniture. Just something about them. I have a 1950s-60s wine cabinet with drawers and there are two sliding doors for the wine or wine glasses... don't know exactly what goes in there. I use it as a clothing storage unit. I would love the Hollywood glam bed set though. For the library room I want to go for later Victorian or early Edwardian study room. 🥰The kitchen... retro industrial all the way. I love the kitchen to be space age, chrome accents. The bathroom I love wood and aqua with gold accents. I know people say gold fixtures are tacky, but for me it's only tacky if you don't use colors found in a reef to match it. I love my bathroom to have that ocean nautical feel to it. The living room would be contemporary all the way, due to the fact I love recliners and they need built in cup holders. Anything but white. 😎👍👍

This vanity was very challenging for you. I’m very impressed with how you persevered through one issue after another. The end result is amazing, so very Vintage Hollwood Chic. Love how you styled it too. The chair doesn’t really complement it…yet. That’s another video though🙂

Nice job, especially with reusing the fabric. I have a chair just like yours and love it. Like yours, the back cushion of my chair would not stay in place. What finally worked to keep the cushion on was a screw-on style round drawer pull. I found a white one with a thistle looking flower painted on. The flower color is similar to the color of the fabric. I enjoy your videos!

I see these all the time that is beyond repair for me because I can't touch it due to they always end up smelling like cigarettes or they have mold on them. My asthma can't handle it. When it comes to restoring I like doing it myself. My cousin brought a new vanity that looks kinda like yours in this video, it's made to have that old fashion look but it didn't last long at all. Things back then was built to last. These days not so much. I have a vanity dresser from the 1950s era I want to restore that I am currently using. Mostly it just needs a new mirror.
