This game will always mean so much to me because of the music. I think the music breaths life into the characters in ways that the characters themselves may not.
This game and this song brings back so many memories. believe it or not its quite possible to become emotionally attached to a fantastic video game such as this.
It's a game and a metaphor. Replace the lifestream with oil, a 'terrorist' group trying to save the world...... Its all there. Best story in a game, my favorite game :)
Been with me a long time too... I also consider it a part of me. Geez, its been 16 years since I first played this game. Now at 32, I recently played it again and was just as moved, if not more. Best game ever... Period.
I agree with you John, usually we have our nostalgia glasses on when we think about these games, and when we go back and play them they arent as good as we remember. not so with this game, this one is absolutely something special.
FF7 was...ok. The graphics were terrible compared to other PS games of the time. The story-line is way beyond cliche, overly melodramatic and at times whiny. The game-play was clunky and glitched. I really don't get the hype or fanboiism about it. It really, objectively, was not a good game.
lol maybe we arent the same age or into the same things. but when i was younger during the time this title came out it was huge for the RPG genre. now we hardly see solid RPG's anymore because video gaming has been directed more towards the casual gamer with companies churning out 2 FPS games a year. different times back then for sure.
I just want to see it re-rendered for today's hardware. Its been 15 years and I still play this game, I'd love to see the game look as good as the scenes from advent children. Or at least close... its not like the hardware isn't capable.
Its not about the graphics But.. Its how YOU connect to the game and how is your soul driven to passionately interact with the game and how to feel the game Most Games on Today's Market are not like this so cherish this treasure to remind you one day that you have played an EPIC GAME
Ah such nostalgia. Beautiful music that really makes me tears up. Like someone have mentioned, old Final Fantasy games have such a beautiful story line, character developments, relationships and interactions with one another. The song are such essential factor to portray each character and story. By far Final Fantasy 7 and 8 are my favorites
This is kind of embarrassing to tell, but I have never completed FF7. But still I know almost everything about it. I watched Advent Children before I even played the game and just by watching that movie I learned the plot of FF7. I've watched Dirge of Cerberus and Crisis Core walkthrough, but still, I have only played the original game only until Bone Village in Disc 1. I've watched Aeris' death from internet and I saw the end when my friend showed it to me. But I still love FF7.
Lyrics Life moves on... Beware the dangers of nature They're waiting around every corner The journey won't be easy... But the reward and effort will last forever. You can't stop believing in what you love Because life carries on.... It wont stop just for one soul it... is the one...and only thing that we.... will seek. But its difficult of course cheer up...life is long..life is grand. But life isnt a thing of misery its a combination... of one and many people who love you
I agree with Reaver, FFVII gets all the love from fans and deservedly so seeing as it was a great game, FFVIII had the unfortunate luck of following VII, VIII needs more love its highly underrated and underappreciated, its in my top 3 FF's of all time
I have the same problem, no one around me has the same passion for this game i do. I fell in love with each character, their struggles and loses, and even went through their growth. This game gets crazy love from me, I still come back every once in a while when im down and listen to this beautifulness.
I soo very much agree. It can be such a friggin' pain the the rear end, but having completed it, and putting up with it for soo long, you'd have to say that completing it is the best way to kick all sarcasm in the face and say that you had actually done it.
I actually agree with that! :) I know a lot of people think it's overrated but I've yet to play a game that has made me feel the way I did with FF7. Even the music of FF7 is iconic and inspires all sorts of emotions in me. There's a reason why so many people have praised this game. Even more, it lives on today. People are likely to talk about Sephiroth and Cloud than any other cast. For a game to withstand the test of time like FF7 has? That's saying something. It's a part of game history.
The nostalgia. I couldn't even remember this song for a second, and then it all came back. I loved this game, I still do. I need to play through it all again.
@RawGnar Agreed!! Im 25 now and I still cant get rid of how amazing this game is, the music, the characters, the story, everything. I still love it to this very day.
So many different places, twists, mysteries, persons and great times. Final Fantasy 7 is a game I would recommend to everyone. Final Fantasy 8 was a different game, and generally an epic tale for those who engaged in it. FF8 required a lot more believing than FF7 did, because it was based on a different kind of struggle, at some times longer drawn out. I played both games, and they both had a huge impact on me, and changed my life.
I'm 15, never played a Final Fantasy game, but I appreciate beautiful music. I wish I could play Final Fantasy after reading everybody's emotions, but high school leaves me unable to spend countless hours on them; so I listen to the music and try to experience what you guys did. I may never know how everybody here feels, but I can feel that FF music is probably the most emotional I'll ever hear. And for the record, I hate COD too :D
This "game" is more than a game, It's a bloody brilliant story that over the years i have seen unravel in style through prequels and sequels, concerts and fan renditions of the soundtrack. Since I discovered it at 13 I have come back every few years to replay it time and again, it just draws me in. I don't think we will ever see a game like this again. I would love to see a remake but I am worried that it would somehow get butchered and ruined. Possibly why Square don't want to do it?
I agree, I'm actually only 16 at the moment and I have to say this I quite enjoyed the parts of 7 that I have (I've been too busy to finish it) and right now I'm actually playing 3 a bit in my spare time. As well as this quite a lot of people that I know have played most of the early Final Fantasy games so there are still quite a few people that are around the age of 17 that can appreciate good games.
So many years later, I come back to this song and it still touches me in a way that no other song has been able too. It does so much.. Inspires hope, a sense of open adventure; like something amazing is just beyond the next bend. I am hard pressed to find anything of this quality - Perhaps Lufia 2's music is something to compare this too. Amazing stuff.
I wish Nobuo Uematsu still makes the music in FF games. But knowing that this uniquely beautiful music is made because of him makes our world a better place :)
I might be older now but I'll never grow up. When I was younger I loved FF7, when I got older I loved it all over again. It has nothing to do with age. Beauty transcends time.
Such a wonderful wave of memories rush back listening to this. This has always been 1 of, if not my favorite game of all time, I actually have the physical CD game (original not platinum). This is the only good thing that I got from my dad, and as sad as it sounds, when my time finally comes, if I can I will take this with me down below, that's how much I love it.
I remember leaving my TV on for a few hours not doing anything else but listening to that beautiful track. This Orchestra Remix has vigorously reignited my nostalgia. If only Square would do something special for FF7's 15th Anniversary later this year.
I love playing games, my whole life doing it, but, there's only one game in my heart, FINAL FANTASY 7, beautiful songs, beauty history, cute characters than never, an ever, a game would erase!!! CLOUD YOU ARE OUR HERO!!!!!!!
I 2nd this comment. My younger brother who is only 9 has started playing this game because I told him how amazing it was for me when I was a kid. Hell I still even play it now! lol. I've been waiting for sooo long for them to remake this game with the new graphics engine. That's all they need to do, they don't need to touch the story at all b/c it's perfect! Oh and they should have these orchestral arrangements as the music.
brought a tear to my eye haha...pure nostalgia.. im sure everyone here has the same emotional attatchment to this game as i do.. i was 7 yeard old when i started playing this, and i still play it to this game.. Final Fantasy Is Literally My Life. It is My Childhood Best Friend. I started playing when i was 6. My top 3 in the series is FFX, my first. FFVIII, my favorite FFVII the best game i ever played.
The universe for VII left enough open spots to expand on in both a prequel and sequel direction, while VIII had an ending that was well rounded enough to leave no questions unanswered. VIII was a great game, it just doesn't need any further development.
Yes, I get what you're saying. To me, people who think it's the best thing ever and accept no other game and people who hate it just because people praise it so much are two sides of the same coin. It's just simple immaturity that we all either grow up out of or don't. Wow, civil conversation about FF7 on YT, I never thought I'd see the day...
Personally (and feel free to message me, I havn't had a good debate over games in a LONG time), my only real issue with eight, was the sudden flip of Squall's personality mid-game. His context went from constant sarcasm, to all of a sudden caring about what's going on around him. I never really understood why he switched thinking. 7 and Dragoon are and will be my favourites forever, they're massively under appreciated, as most of the final fantasy games are. To each their own I say though =)
@kakiller3 if you're referring to the picture used in the video, that's because it's a picture of Cloud before mafo-infusion so his eyes are still the natural blue he was born with.
KingKef Mass Effect has way better characters than any Final Fantasy character. I love Final Fantasy, and have since I was 10 years old and the first Final Fantasy was released for the NES here in the US. I've played them all in order as they were released in the United States, and eat, breathed, and slept Final Fantasy for my childhood and my nerdy teen years. But character development in the Final Fantasy series was never better than in FF6, and even then it doesn't hold a candle to what BioWare did with the Mass Effect Trilogy. Commander Shepard, Urdnot Wrex, Garrus Vakarian, Tali'Zorah, Liara T'Soni, Miranda Lawson, Mordin Solus, Urdnot Grunt, Jaqueline Naught, Thane Krios, and EDI are all vastly superior characters to anything Final Fantasy has ever come up with, Cloud, Sephiroth, and Kefka included. Not only that but there are many other characters that are way better than Cloud, like Geralt of Rivia from the Witcher trilogy, John Marston of Red Dead Redemption, Kratos from God of War, Illidan Stormrage and Arthas Menethil from (World of) Warcraft, Samus Aran from Metroid, and especially Gordon Freeman from Half-Life. Cloud and Sephiroth are no doubt two of the most iconic characters, so if that is what you meant, then by all means, ignore what I'm saying here, because you're right Cloud is certainly iconic. But in terms of character development, and how well fleshed out the characters are and how well told their stories are and how real these characters can feel, Cloud doesn't even scratch the surface.
+RicoLen1 you like Mass Effect characters, but everyone likes different things. For me the best characters are Sora, Roxas, Kairi, Naminé, Ratchet & Clank, Spyro and Jak & Daxter :D
Yeah, everyone is entitled to an opinion. :) One thing I'll say about FF7 is it's a classic game, no matter if some find it overrated. It's like art; people can hate Picasso all they want, but in the end, we're still talking about him. Picasso set the trend to abstract art much like FF7 paved the way for RPGs today. It wasn't the first RPG but it played a significant role in introducing audiences outside of Japan to RPG. None of the FF games after FF7 has had that impact on a global scale.
Can't belive I read your alias youtube name correctly! I bought this GinKoBiloBa couple of months ago and my brain worked more effectively ;P :DD ^^ xDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Everyone should look up "Did You Know Gaming - Final Fantasy". They bring up interesting facts that many of us didn't know about the makings and ideals behind most of the Final Fantasy games, as well as hidden stuffs.
i have still playing this game.. since now on.. i've already complete this game but i decided to play it again ahaha.. i also have a full movie of this game .. Final Fantasy & and Final Fantasy 7 (Advent Children).. who want some?
Yes it is, that's just basically the AP system or level up for materia, and it doesn't affect your stats as much either unless it's purple materia (i think they're purple anyway, its been a while since I played 7).
contrast sephiroth with cloud, who also was initially unable to accept the unchangeable conditions of his life. but instead of becoming angry and trying to change them, he simply denied the truth. the entire character arc with cloud is about him evolving past that denial and coming into acceptance. this whole matter is compounded by aeris dying (this is also the game pushing its "point" onto you, the player, by making never bringing her back and forcing you to accept those conditions).
Well, you're an exception then lol. By the responses I've gotten, I should of said MOST of these newer gamers only care about shoooters, but there are a few that would still appreciate getting lost in the world of Final Fantasy :)
i played 1 2 6 7 8 and 10. 7 and 10 are my all time favs mainly cause of blitzball god i never got tired of that lol over 200+ hours of nothing but blitzball
The love story between Cloud and Barrett is so sad, very touching game.
This game will always mean so much to me because of the music. I think the music breaths life into the characters in ways that the characters themselves may not.
You nailed it man. I feel the same way about ff6
Whenever I hear Aerth's piano notes... ;)
Posssssssssssssssser!
This is more to me than memories,I am so greatful that grew up with this Game. I love you Final Fantasy VII.
every character has their own theme song, its usually played when you first meet the character or when you are in their home town

So sick of people saying video games are a waste a time shut the fuck up I've made so many memories 😢
This is such a beautiful piece, I use to just have my character idle on the main screen so I could hear this song. ^_^
Final Fantasy 7 had the best battle system, story, character, and music! Even after all these years I still come back to 7.
Ah such nostalgia. Beautiful music that really makes me tears up. Us FFVIII fans are just jealous that VII is getting all the attention. But 7 is great too, and very deserving of that attention.

Life moves on...
Beware the dangers of nature
They're waiting around every corner
The journey won't be easy...
But the reward and effort will last forever.
You can't stop believing in what you love
Because life carries on....
It wont stop just for one soul it...
is the one...and only thing that we....
will seek.
But its difficult of course
cheer up...life is long..life is grand.
But life isnt a thing of misery
its a combination...
of one and many people who love you
10 years has passed but still no like on this comment. Let me change that. (Also, cool lyrics)
Amazing lyrics and I did like your comment.
I agree with Reaver, FFVII gets all the love from fans and deservedly so seeing as it was a great game, FFVIII had the unfortunate luck of following VII, VIII needs more love its highly underrated and underappreciated, its in my top 3 FF's of all time
Man, this gives me a lump in my throat every time.
im 20 years old AND i been playing this game since it came out and i cant stop playing the game
I have the same problem, no one around me has the same passion for this game i do. I fell in love with each character, their struggles and loses, and even went through their growth. It's nice knowing how people still appreciate good gaming.
The nostalgia.
I couldn't even remember this song for a second, and then it all came back. I loved this game, I still do. I need to play through it all again.
Im 15 yrs old and played All the installments of Final Fantasy and im a quite proud DotA player
@RawGnar Agreed!! Im 25 now and I still cant get rid of how amazing this game is, the music, the characters, the story, everything. I still love it to this very day.
No game really grabbed me until FFX. After the amazing XI, and the sub-par games after that, it really struck me how much I missed FF7.
7 and 8 are both spectacular games. Each with a phenomenal amount of replay value.
At work blasting this song in my office. It definitely makes the workday stress easier.
Oh God. The nostalgia just hit me like a hammer. >.< I can't believe I got a physical reaction from this song...
I'm 15, never played a Final Fantasy game, but I appreciate beautiful music. I wish I could play Final Fantasy after reading everybody's emotions, but high school leaves me unable to spend countless hours on them; so I listen to the music and try to experience what you guys did. you sir, are the king of final fantasy youtube
I wish Nobuo Uematsu still makes the music in FF games. But knowing that this uniquely beautiful music is made because of him makes our world a better place :)

So true, both actually happen to be my two favourite games in the series. Followed by IV and IX.
Think what you want of Final Fantasy VII the game. But you have to admit that this is one beautiful piece of music.
this song made me cry of joy
I love how 9,8, and 10 are in there. Final Fantasy VI is the greatest Final Fantasy game ever created. What you should have said was 1-6.
Lol first time i saw your comment thought it was me, same story! i'm 17 and i discovered this game because of my dad.
Such a wonderful wave of memories rush back listening to this. This has always been 1 of, if not my favorite game of all time, I actually have the physical CD game (original not platinum). This is the only good thing that I got from my dad, and as sad as it sounds, when my time finally comes, if I can I will take this with me down below, that's how much I love it.
which 9 people do not like this? Seriously guys? This is beautiful.
I remember leaving my TV on for a few hours not doing anything else but listening to that beautiful track. This Orchestra Remix has vigorously reignited my nostalgia.
If only Square would do something special for FF7's 15th Anniversary later this year.
Then we both love it. So happy are my memories with this game...
This is my adventure song when I go to draw I love it.
Makes me feel so wonderful, and those memories come back. 3
If most games were filled with magic and emotion like most Final Fantasy games i would die in love for them all!
brought a tear to my eye haha...pure nostalgia.. im sure everyone here has the same emotional attatchment to this game as i do.. i was 7 yeard old when i started playing this, and i still play it to this game.. And as silly as it sounds, this game got me through some really tough times. When i felt like shit, i'd slap this on and be brought back to my childhood, with not a care in the world, i would play this game for days on end without sleep. and will fore the rest of my life..
1997, on a PS one, small mono sound television and the music from this game sounded amazing.
One of best games ever no doubt about that will always one of my favourites.
finally! somebody agrees with me that 13 is good! ily man!
Ahh take me back to those days...
i still play FF7 15 years later and there is still yet to be a game of its awesomeness..and yea FF8 was pretty good too
1st of all 12 was epic!!
10/2 i agree with, i saw my mate play it and never, ever, played it...
But 12, would you of been happier with lines of models, facing off against each other RAWR!! So 1990 mate!
SE have moved the series into something far more amazing, hey don't get me wrong, sometimes change can be a serious blow to a genre, but i personally like the idea of the main character's and monsters actually moving around, like you are on a battlefield!
And the content!!! Hunts were epic!
I'm 16 and find what you said, on the whole at least, true. But there some out there who would rather play this anyday. ;)
Hearing this song is like a nostalgia bomb detonating a bigger nostalgia bomb.
Awesome Main Theme of Final Fantasy VII Theme Full Orchestral Video.
I'm 18 now and the first game I ever played was FFVII :O I TOO would DEFINATELY buy this game
Its amazing how a song with no words makes more sense than all the music that does at times...
This is an official version of the main theme on a CD called "Final Fantasy VII - Reunion Tracks".
Final Fantasy Is Literally My Life. It is My Childhood Best Friend. I started playing when i was 6. My top 3 in the series is FFX, my first. FFVIII, my favorite FFVII the best game i ever played.
este video esta en mis favoritos
jeje esta chida la imagen y sobre todo la cancion
bueno adios esta muy pero muy bueno el video
I feel bad for you. I'm glad I can appreciate all games up till after 10.
The universe for VII left enough open spots to expand on in both a prequel and sequel direction, while VIII had an ending that was well rounded enough to leave no questions unanswered. VIII was a great game, it just doesn't need any further development.
So Beautiful!
i bought FFVIII yesterday , i've completed many times but its just soooo good :D
Me too. FFVII will always be my favourite :)

this is just.. so good..
Cloud and Lightning = my two favs.
i dont care what people say best game i ever played my entire life!!!
MY GOD, THE BEST GAME I'VE EVER PLAYED!!!
Cloud is the best character in videogames history.
***** no... THE best :)

+LittlePanda he is not he´s anoiying as fuck... .
this just fits perfect as ff7 theme. cant imagine a better choice. for me the best pice ever.
Sounds like the opening of a movie aiming for an Oscar for best score.
Im a final fantasy fan and II(JPN), 7, and 9 were my favs
love this song!
Thanks for that info!
Can't belive I read your alias youtube name correctly!

Everyone should look up "Did You Know Gaming - Final Fantasy". They bring up interesting facts that many of us didn't know about the makings and ideals behind most of the Final Fantasy games, as well as hidden stuffs.

Hola , yo amo mucho final fantasy y soy de puertorro
By the responses I've gotten, I should of said MOST of these newer gamers only care about shoooters, but there are a few that would still appreciate getting lost in the world of Final Fantasy :)
i played 1 2 6 7 8 and 10. 7 and 10 are my all time favs
mainly cause of blitzball god i never got tired of that lol over 200+ hours of nothing but blitzball
cloud will always be my favourite main-charakter.
one word describes this "Beautiful" that is all!
