I was so confused by the ending as a kid and legitimately thought something was wrong with either my TV or Nickelodeon’s cable network. Obviously, I should’ve know long beforehand its the SECRET formula for a reason, but it was very frustrating to me, in a good way 😂
I absolutely love the employee orientation video format of this episode. It's hilarious, it spawned some of the greatest memes of all time, and that fadeout Krabby Patty formula reveal at the end was amazing. When I was a kid, I honestly thought the episode was cut a few seconds short to leave room for commercials. 🤣
It shows what the employees actually go through everyday life at the restaurant, all while having humor in the mix which helps give a good perspective of the restaurant in the show all while being different which makes it rememberable
I love jokes like the ending of this episode. My favorite is: Candace: Mom got remarried? What happened to dad? Phineas: Funny story; he- ‘Death Star blows up’
This may be one of the most perfect episodes of SpongeBob. Between this and Band Geeks. I really wish the “I really wish I weren’t here right now” button was a thing. The moment you’ve been waiting for is the best 30 second sequence in a cartoon ever. This episode is just perfect.
When I first saw this episode as a kid it legitimately felt like I was actually gonna get a job at The Krusty Krab and this and many other reasons are why this is and always will be one of my favourite episodes ever in the entire series!
You come to appreciate this episode a whole lot more after you've worked your 1st job and actually watched one of these training videos in person. Yet it still manages to be funny and understandable to a young kid who hasn't worked a job yet.
As a kid I always thought that the episode ended the way that it did so that Plankton didn't have the chance to learn the secret formula just by watching the video.
Man, i love hearing you be this enthusiastic again, usually you're talking about things that are more negative, like the cartoon network situation, it's so obvious in your voice that this is your favorite episode. love ur channel and keep it up!
Ah yes the Krusty Krab Training Video. This was my favorite Spongebob episode as a kid and was the one that made me laugh the most. It's funny, memeable, and for those who like background production music, its full of that too. I can still quote some of the lines.
Unlike Truth or Square, it’s not like they actually promised they’ll reveal the secret formula. Therefore, it is more believable that the audience will know how ludicrous it is. And I must say that this episode is one of the show’s purest gold. So much jokes and so much creativity and thinking outside the box. Absolutely spot on!
This is a classic SpongeBob episode. I still remember watching it when it originally aired. I definitely thought something happened at the end, especially since at the time my TV was kinda crappy.
@Maniac Gamers but it ended up getting shut down from nickelodeon, I’m just meaning like if Nick/Paramount decided to make their own one and have a legally ran one
3:48 yes, yes, I remember this the greatest SpongeBob episode in history, and the most meme worthy episode out there not a step up we got many jokes from just this episode also, bring back the narrator. This guy who was talking in the middle of everything. His voice is beautiful I can sleep through. This was perfect 😅
This was the best episode by far it is so fun to watch a episode I could watch everyday. It's a classic and has helped make so many fun RUclips poops. The narrator is so cool and works very well for this episode. I'll never forget this episode it's that memorable
I always thought this episode was supposed to come after the first episode since it’s meant for new employees. But for some reason I never noticed the difference in quality as a possible sign that this episode took place many many episodes after the first.
I thought it was just me who absolutely loved this episode. It gives me a feeling of nostalgia... even though I'm much younger then Spongebob and don't exactly have any memories of watching this episode as a kid, its just a very nostalgic episode for some reason.
I freaking love this episode. My all time favorite part is right after the title card when Quest For the Best starts playing. That drum fill is my favorite part of the song. That’s a real song FYI. It’s by David Reilly. Such a great tune. That should’ve been the end credits theme for seasons 1-3 of SpongeBob. My other favorite parts of this awesome episode are that POOP bit (which I could not narrate with a straight face if I was the narrator) and when Plankton mutters “I knew I should’ve gotten the turbo.”

Robbie’s Dream Team - LazyTown
Something else that I notice about this episode is not only is it in the old tv ratio, it also has a more…..hand drawn style I guess? Compared to the other episodes at least. I think that’s another reason why it looks so charming.
Personally, I think Idiot Box is one of (if not the definitive) best Spongebob episodes out there. Sure, Training Video gave some educational tips towards proper work habits in the fast food industry...but Idiot Box taught viewers the power of imagination (which is sorely lacking in today's art and media industry)
Fun fact: If you watch this episode on DVD, it doesn't just cut off at the end. It freezes at that spot, and then, after a few seconds of being "stuck," it immediately plays the credits out of nowhere. Goes to show that they went all out on all fronts with this episode--making it look like a broadcast cut on TV, and a problem with the disk or player on DVD.

I think it's great that this episode wanted to try something different! But the best part about this episode is the comedy! "Hoopla", "P.O.O.P.", "can I make a Krabby Patty now?", and "🎵titalilitaaa⭐🍔🎵" were the funniest moments in this episode!😂
This episode EASILY lands in my Top 3 SpongeBob Episodes of All Time, along with Band Geeks and Pizza Delivery! I STILL remember some of the classic mid-2010s RUclips Poops, especially one that had the end where, instead of cutting off right as the narrator is about to finish his sentence, it adds in something so he ends up saying “OKAY! The Secret Formula is POOP!”

I just noticed this. I can recognize Seasons 1-4 episodes because they were recognizable and nostalgic (Some season 4 Eps were good) but when I try to remember Seasons 5-9, I can't even remember them, which goes to show how boring the episodes were. But, I do remember some 10-13 Seasons.
