Hey man! I have been wanting to make this for a while but I have not been able to due to the fact that all of the items used are only purchasable from India with rupees. I live in the United States and was wondering what the cost would be in US dollars and if I could get all of the parts shipped here. Thanks

I see loads of videos where self proclaimed hackers throw off the shelf products in a candy box with loads of wasted space and cables running everywhere and call it a portable. And cant forget obnoxious bass thumping music. Then I find this. Theres still music where the explanations should be, but its nice to see theres still a few real techs on the tube with design and fabrication skills.

Holy shit, a plastic enclosure without a 3D printer??? It's about time someone showed the old school method of making a plastic box with out hundreds of dollars of equipment and days of learning 3D CAD and how to make good prints. Excellent video, great concept. Keep Broadcasting!!

Whenever I have need to make an enclosure, I usually do a mental toss-up between printing one, and going old school. There are pluses and minuses either way. For me, old school is using reclaimed PVC that I made into sheets. It works wonderfully!
I like the look and design of your lab tab enclosure. Well done!

3D printers aren't a replacement for this type of project - I have a couple and it was never my intention to use them as a replacement to good ol' acrylic+adhesive or whatever you use. 3D printers are best used when you've got a specific part, shape or feature that is required for your project. For example, you couldn't easily fabricate a Lenovo T410s drive bay cover with acrylic - but it'd take less than an hour to design the part and print it.

That's a really nice form factor! I mean... It's technically the way phones were built for some time in the past, but seeing that being implemented in a portable computer just makes it so much better. I'm really impressed! It looks amazing.

Good job. I would make few tweaks and this is just my thought - Exposed hdmi cable is not a good idea, buy a flexible hdmi cable or put some shielding on the one you have made. Second, I would take the keyboard out altogether which will make the build even more smaller and I can use any keyboard mouse I want in the future (what if this keyboard goes bad and you dont get a keyboard of the same size).
Again these are just my thoughts.

This is really cool, I was planning to make one, but the parts used here will be rather expensive for me and will cost as much as a cheap but new laptop!
But this is really a cool device!

    Great video.
Please can you send me the exact measurements you used for building the housing? I would also like to know if the Raspberry Pi3 can run Windows OS.
    Thanks.

What is the price for buying this laptab good creation

I love the idea of this project but the two things in this design that would make me nope out of buying/building it. Under 10" display and that keyboard
What recently cought my eye was the raspberry pi 400. Got me thinking if anything would get me into raspberry pi for a retro pi build it would be that. Kinda envisioning a laptop rig it would "dock" into turning it into a kaptop/ retro pi machine.

Realy nice mechanism for the case. It'a a great concept. These Standart-Laptops are boring. I need a Laptop like this. Got an Pi 3 Model B+ and an Asus Tinker Board here, so I think I have to switch on my 3D-Printer :) Thanks for the inspiration.
