I remember cutscenes making a big impression on me (i had a Polish version with some cool voice actors), but didnt remember the writing to be so cringy. Apparently the writer for story was an author of pony simulator games before this one lol

This has been a fun nostalgia trip. Though I grew up on homm1-3, 4-6 also left an impression on me, with disctinct memories of skipping school to play V after downloading it painstakingly over several days from a multipart winace file.

You should try the new demo 3 version of Silence of the Siren! Much better and wider in gameplay wise now! And at 2024.09.30 EA version will come with 3 factions and with hot seat what can be played by online too with free Parsec or Teamviewer.

The graphics are good, the gameplay feels good too, the music... its epic. But the story, the voice acting, oh lowd its hurting my soul
People really like bashing this game based just on 1 campaign you finished

I always tought homm5 was shit. But you make it seem fun. Pretty good
It's not terrible, but the vanilla version certainly made things exorbitantly complicated, slow, tedious, and often... confusing. 😕Even v5.5 could only do so much, right? But it doesn't mean it can't be fun.
hate how big everything is in the UI + additional steps to see information or do actions: makes it look like a tablet game. Also just an overcomplication of the explanations of the units with the actual formulas etc. baffles me how much of a step back those are vs HoMM 3. did they blow out all of their budget creating the units 3d models? xdd
Overcomplicated ? Its more like heroes 3 units are made by 4th grade schooler. Thats it seems overcomplicated. Heroes 4 was a setback.
