This song was definitely more from the rock side.
Max Lilja was the cello player. He used to be in a finnish metal band called Apocalyptica. They play metal with cellos.
Little Lies was from Tarja's second album, What Lies Beneath (came out in 2010).
During filming this concert Tarja had released only two solo albums. So all the songs you hear are from those two or are covers or from her Nightwish era.

The cellist's name is Max Lilja, he is a founding member of Apocalyptica and has been working with Tarja for a long time. He also performs with her at Christmas concerts. Thanks a lot for the amazing reaction. It's great that you pay attention to the lyrics too, and even better that you already know enough of Nightwish's history to recognize the meaning of the songs. This song is amazing, hard and pure metal.
Tarja put her frustration into many songs, I think she didn't even choose the cover of Numb by Linkin Park by chance. It's great when artists express their emotions in this way and give us brilliant music.
I will probably send more songs from Act I your way down the rabbit hole in the future. Also some of her classical stuff singing opera arias and singing Led Zeppelin with an orchestra.

The cellist is Max Lilja. He is a University trained cellist, who first started playing violin at the age of 7, but changed it into cello at 10, when he began his studies in the Junior Academy of Helsinki's prestigious Sibelius Academy. Some time after 1993, he first began to play covers of Metallica songs with the cellists who went on to form Apocalyptica. Lilja did quite well at the Sibelius Academy, earning the principal chair of the academy's Symphony Orchestra in 1995. He left Apocalyptica to join the Finnish thrash metal band Hevein. He`s been working with Tarja since 2007.
