- This exceedingly rare 1971 Chevrolet Corvette ZR2 convertible from the famed Ed Foss Collection is a reference-grade multiple award winner of the highest caliber. Known as “Zora’s Racer” after Corvette Chief Engineer Zora Arkus-Duntov, the ZR2’s entry in 1971 was shrouded in mystery, with no pre-production hype, road tests or leaked photographs. The spiritual successor to the mighty racing-purposed L88, the RPO ZR2 Special Purpose LS6 Engine Package followed the same blueprint, matching the new 454/425 HP Mark IV big-block V-8 with the Muncie M22 close-ratio “Rock Crusher” 4-speed manual transmission, transistorized ignition, high capacity aluminum radiator with shroud delete, heavy duty power disc brakes, F41 Special Suspension with specific springs, shocks and front and rear sway bars.

What is the significance of Bloomington gold? Thank you.
awesome
Had all the emissions because it wouldn't pass Maryland inspection without it and low miles because it over heated.
They beefed it up no doubt
Sold for 100k less the next year when they auctioned it again
Must be nice to have that kinda cash too buy a car like that! 🤣🤣🤣. Greg
Lmfao right?! To have a million dollars lying around that you can spend on a car that you plan on never driving.
No such thing as a ZR-1 small block Corvette in 1971 and prior (0:59). It was a 427 which is obviously a big block.
The ZL-1 was a all aluminum 427, And was 1969 only. The ZR-1 (70-72) was the high performance, LT1 350 combined with a handling package. And the ZR2 (1971 only) was basically the same handling package except with the 454.
My God... Can I get a one for one replica that I can drive around? Lol they don't make cars like they used to.
