For those who think Downtown Houston is so dead it because they have an underground air-conditioned tunnel.
People use it instead of the street. Houston is a definition of a modern city :)

I would never pay that much to live in an apartment with a tall ceiling when I could just get a house for a fraction of the cost. Skyscraper apartments should be be $800 a month not $8000! Especially when you have restrictions that you wouldn't in a house. I see those becoming office spaces in a few short years.

Some ppl want to live in skyscrapers.. they want a city view. I'm from NY, it's in my blood. I moved to Houston 4 yrs ago. I would definitely pay more to live in the city. Not everyone wants a house.

The crazy part is in other cities with zoning laws (think SF, LA, SJ, Seattle, etc) run down houses cost over a million. I live in the cheapest unit I could find 40 minutes away from downtown and it costs 1250 a month for just myself. I wish I could move to Houston the city is so much better than anything in CA/on the pacific, it's so much cheaper

I just move to downtown Houston from NYC I can refute the ugly part. It’s so clean and there are so many beautiful historic buildings. I thought I’d miss NYC and that moving here would be a downgrade, but so far, I’m really loving it. It’s not as “dead” as I was thinking it would be.

Miami has more skyscrapers than houston. Miami has the largest population of skyscrapers on the east coast, outside of Manhattan. Miami has 500 skyscrapers over 70 stores, and about 12 of those are over 80 stories tall. google "Miami skyline 2019". Also, Miami will have the 2nd tallest skyscraper on the east coast in 2022. look up "Miami future tall skyscrapers".

@Ben Raymond I highly doubt that. Texas is a shithole. I'd never want to go there. have no plans to ever. I see texas tags here in Florida often, even though you people are not wanted here. You don't even want to be in your own state. keep your taco eating asses from out of our state. Florida for Floridians only!
