@@ChrisXOutdoors I have seen it done on repair videos featuring the Suzuki 2-Cycle Toro mowers. Take both carb/airbox nuts and thread them on the same carb stud, then lock them together with a wrench and you can use the wrench on those nuts to thread the stud out. I have not tried it on my Suzuki yet so watch videos before taking my advice.
Plus i think that black stuff was degradation of the inner fuel line ethanol fuel is brutal on lines I always instal clear inline fuel filters plus you can see water and other contaminants I was thinking they prolly backed into it in there garage and crunching the handle just a thought heca deal at 150 thankfully it wasn't something major eXmark prices there parts like they are the Bentley / Rolls Royce of the lawn mower industry it's pretty sickening if ya own one and need a cable or etc. I won''t ever by another new one
Dealing with this same engine right now on a Toro Turfmaster. It kept going straight to full throttle upon starting. Finally noticed today the spring connected to the governor was stretched so there was no governing happening! Such a satisfying feeling to realize what stumped someone else. Fantastic audio and video, by the way.
How do you only have 681 subscribers. Your video is edited well, the click image is amazing, your informative. You have all the makings of a great RUclips channel, I just bought this mower and found this video. Keep up content like this man, good job
To take the carb off in that situation, you back out the studs that hold it onto the engine. Put two nuts on one stud and then tighten them together then spin the one closest to the engine to take the whole stud out.
That's a beautiful machine. Nothing like a Kawi. Great fix. Always wondered how you got that dramatic perfect lighting video at the end. Giving away all your secrets 😂
Thanks Chris for a awesome video, very informative, I got the exact same mower And I don’t believe I’m getting any spark,So when I get home today I’m gonna check that brake stop to see if it’s constantly grounded before I replace the coil
Thanks for the kind words Carlos! I appreciate you watching brother. If that is not the problem and you want my help troubleshooting further, shoot me a dm on FB or insta.. or chrisxoutdoors@icloud.com
The reason why some mowers are designed the way they are is so the engineering is true to the brand. What does that mean proprietary technology behind the machine. Patents for this and that, so if that means we as consumers have to go around and about to fix it oh well. But I had this same problem it would rev and die out so I found some thin wire like a bread tie wire and cleaned and sprayed the carburetor because dirt etc gets up in there you have to do preventive maintenance on the carburetor 3 times a year. Question I have 2 hooks under my 21 exmark what are they for? Thanks in advance.
The hooks are likely for straps because exmark knows 99% of the time that mower is going to be on and off a trailer 60x a week because it’s with a landscaping crew and it’s much easier for transport
Great video! I have the same mower and just changed the carburetor last week, i removed the stud but i had the exact same reaction to how it sits in there. Quick question though, when i engage the blade i notice it takes some time to get up to speed and then slowly the blade dies out in short grass. Is there a clutch spring or something with these mowers?
Hi Bill - Thanks for watching. Does your machine have a clutch that is independent of the mower? Meaning when you let off the bail lever, does the mower engine shut off?
@@ChrisXOutdoors the clucth i believe is independent, i can start mine and let it sit, then push down a tab and pull the lever to then engage the blade. Rpm's stay the same, no pulsing, runs smooth. Just weird loss of power, like a belt or something is slipping.
Yes that is interesting. Doesn't sound like there is a demand shortage of fuel, etc.. so that is good. I would check out the clutch. Your guess would be as good as mine as I'm not familiar with it but just look it over and see if anything seems out of place. Kawasaki does a fantastic job online with diagrams so that may be a tool to utilize. The springs in the clutch generally don't wear out as the gauge of that spring metal is significantly high. If you want, send me a short little video of what its doing to chrisxoutdoors@icloud.com. I'd be curious to get a visual!
I hate when they do that they are great mowers but I had to get a Honda and I love kawisaki but I think they need to redo the engine eternals not saying there bad engines just a lil tweeks could shut the game down Honda has it’s issues but it’s just something about them!
Great video. For future reference you can double nut the carb studs and unscrew them from the engine. 😉
I tried wiggling the studs a little and they didn’t want to move much. You’ll have to show me sometime. I knew the correction was coming though 😆

Thanks for the explanation Eric. Definitely going to check it out for when it comes up in the future! Thanks for watching brother 👍🏼

That’s an amazing mower and you sir, are a magician. Another great video and I appreciate the time you take to produce the content.

My buddy ripped me for it 3 seconds after I posted the video 😂 Kawasaki: 1 ...me: 0
awesome...
Chris! I am so glad I stumbled upon your channel! I love the fixing! And exmark is awesome. I’ve been doing a restoration on an old exmark.
Jordan.. so glad to hear. Tell me more about yours if you don’t mind me asking
@@ChrisXOutdoors it’s a 2001 Exmark Lazer Z, 52”. It’s on my channel. Got it for $500, put an engine on it, new paint, decals. Check it out!

Was it the switch curios some times I have to toggle the on off switch seems to short out once in a while
This one does not have a switch. The bail lever is attached to a spring that grounds to the engine killing the spark when the level is released
@@ChrisXOutdoors that's right I keep forgetting the non BBC model 🤪
😂😂
Greatly appreciate that
Thank you Jay
It could be the fuel flow check the flow
Lol yea ya have to pull one stud out. left one I use the 2 nuts tighten one on the other and then back it out using the inside but
Yeah my buddy laid into me when he saw this a couple months ago 😆
