I have so much respect for Satoshi - I’ve got 2 of his DVDs, they’re well worth it. Great teacher and athlete.
This interview is great so far, thank you!

Total gigachad this guy. Its visible all those judo throws with those battle hardened ears and a lot of the fingers were dislocated.

Keishichou is like central police station and they train Judo and Kendo as part of self defense.

The keishicho don't only just teach judo and kendo, they also teach taiho jutsu alongside hojo jutsu and bojutsu

    • @Sam-ht4og

@@niledunn4641 Yes, but it is only part of their martial arts program including shooting and Taihojutsu(逮捕術) or randori with armor like kendo and various weapons other than ones you mentioned. But since 260000 people are working as Japanese police, there are some very good judokas and I can see why Ishii went there for randori

@@Sam-ht4og true but the swat teams only get trained in taiho jutsu which is what ishii was exposed to its why his judo was so explosive was due to that aspect alongside learing gozo shiodas style of aikido which is very brutal , I'm a jujutsuka myself I've trained with guys who learned taiho jutsu and they are tough as nails

Also... It's interesting how you calculated the rounds. He mentions 7 minute Randori Rounds. Is this standard for Judo? What is the break time between rounds? Do they run a clock timer like a typical gym does?

I'd like to know if Satoshi practiced Boxing or a Karate style before entering MMA. Does he think that his boxing is sufficient for MMA?
He faced Crocop and Fedor and could not stand the boxing fight. Does he have another opening tactic without many punches like Gracie?
Where is the difficulty in the combination of punching and wrestling?
